Never mind FDOI - Baltimore; How about FS - Baltimore (Pop 1)
I wish I knew about that one. Do you have a pic of the label to post?
I will take a pic of this and post. As far as I am aware at this point - it's a POP 1 and I own it.
I dunno. It's a POP 1 piece of paper attached to a POP 500 coin that are all otherwise indistinguishable from the rest of a POP 10,000 issue.
And yet you seem very proud of it, while at the same time poo-pooing what people were and are willing to pay for individually numbered coins, with a signed COA from the Mint director, in a POP 230 issue. All of which are literally POP 1 coins, not merely labels, by virtue of the individual number attribution performed upon striking at the Mint.
Moreover, they are part of a POP 230, not 10,000. Seems more than a bit incongruous to me.
Lets not get into the "piece of paper" discussion. There is at least 20 years of history on how that little piece of paper that says "First Strike" or "FDOI" of "Advanced Released" translates to higher prices for literally the same coins.

Mint website now showing both gold and silver as SOLD OUT.
Gone baby gone... I wonder if anyone was able to place an order any day after January first.
I believe you were the only FH Au order in 2025!
It will be very interesting to see what shows up on the next mint sales report. On the previous report the total sales were still about 25 shy of the 10,000 product limit.

The FHG shows one (1) less coin--YOUR coin! ✓
12/23 = 9975 pcs
12/30 & 1/5 = 9974 pcs
Between 11/25(9982 pcs) and 1/5(9974 pcs) there has been some movement back & forth with the numbers, but at the rate of only 8 pcs, which seems like a small number to me. But I'm no expert.
25 shy of the 10,000 limit is pretty good imo, and I don't expect that number to ever go up due to damaged & culled coins that were un-sellable.

It looks like they struck exactly 10,000 of the coins and 26 got canned, for a final number of 9,974. 93 of the silver medals got canned, so they ended up with a mintage of 49,907.

Yes...but does it have STAYING POWER...and if so, how much and for how long ?
If only this was a trading card, it would have 1 of 1 on it.
LOL - you're right on that one!
It's just a little annoying that our hosts can't be more inclusive about label offerings - especially for "show releases".
I accept the fact that certain labels are reserved for BULK submissions (FDOI) - but something like this 2024 Gold Flowing Hair $1 - obtained at the mint booth on Nov 14th and walked right over to the PCGS table, verified by giving them a copy of the receipt, is somehow not "FDOI" ? Well, apparently it was good enough for the 10 pcs that one dealer delivered on that same day.
Anyway, I walk away with a POP 1. They walk away with a POP 11.
It will probably go up for sale. If there is interest here just PM me. If the number isnt right then it will make its way to GC.

The 10k figure was obvious to many of us. So we can put the nonsense of several thousand minted to be sold later as part of some mysterious set to rest!

What is obvious to some is mysterious to others...
Pinehurst's pricing today. The cognoscenti will already know this, but I did not realize that a) "advance release" coins command such a premum, and b) that the silver with privy sells for more than the gold without privy. Interesting.
GOLD FLOWING HAIR NO PRIVY
NGC PF70 Ultra Cameo Advance Release - $7800
NGC PF70 Ultra Cameo First Day of Issue - $5400
CAC PF70 DCAM First Day of Delivery - $5500
SILVER FLOWING HAIR W/PRIVY
NGC MS70 Advance Release - $9700
NGC MS70 First Day of Issue - $6800
In the past, it is possible the mint envisioned a two product combined set (with one gold and one medal), and this is why they came up with the mintage limit higher than the product limit. But the two product set was scrapped, and they only went with single issues. I would assume if this is the case, they had to scrap the set as it would not fit into the privy mark distribution.

This is inaccurate. The original mintage and product limits were the SAME. They only lowered the product limit after they sold through their initial offering.

Yes they were the same at the higher amount, but they also had no privy mention until the very end. The people who worked on the website apparently had no idea what they were planning for the products. They also incorrectly said both were struck to full mintage, and that turned out wrong.
Very few left on eBay and all very high asking prices, even with their special "offers". I am not on a dealer network to see if any are for sale there. It looks like the gold privies are not dropping in price yet as many expected. The reality is basically none are available to buy except at double the original price. Received an offer this morning for a PR70.

I wouldn't expect a price drop yet. No one is yet in need of selling.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. The exuberance factor will start to wain on some those privy purchasers.
Have any of the 230 actually been sold for more money than the original auction price?
At the beginning, there were 12 listed on eBay and the 7 listed in the $50k ranges all sold. Now the only ones left are asking $60k and above. No easy way to know exactly what offers were accepted by the sellers on eBay, but I think it is safe to say all were sold several thousand above the original auction price.

And thats why the POP11 pieces are auctioning for 7450 on ebay vs FDOI non baltimore label of ~5450 or $2000 more.
I think NJ Coin just likes to press buttons. Probably not buying one coin himself but sure has alot to say.
I believe the Gold Privey "230" coins have value, far in excess of the normal gold, but not $45k far.
More like $15k for a 70.

Best to not engage with him. I learned that months ago.😉

My one-word response to the pricing on the silver flowing hair with privy: Spotting?
RCTV is selling the coin this weekend (gold, no privy). $7,000 payable in 3 installments.
how much does tv infomercial production cost again?
A lot

if only they sold other issues on rctv it might make the production less expensive
Buy two, save $200.....such a deal!

can't this be attributed to oversight?
Yes
is the mint allowed to change its mind?
Yes
Are we tired of this discussion?
My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
When you get sick and tired of being sick and tired, you catch a second wind!
Did anyone at the FUN show see any of the 230 2024 flowing hair gold coins with privy, for sale? If so, what price?
Has anyone confirmed any sales for one of these anywhere in the past two weeks since the Stacks auction, not counting eBay?
