This coin is somewhat of a dog, but very special. It's a rev 73 and the best one I could find on ebay. I'll upgrade later when I get a chance. My favorite variety that no one seems to know about. They represent maybe 1-2% of the 76-cc population.
That 70cc $ is a beautiful example. Nice rims and not baggy and banged up like most of them. Love the circulated cameo look. A real gem! First shot if you sell 😎

It was struck by Coin Press No. 1. With the limited number made and ties to the 1870 founding of the Carson City Mint it is among the more valued modern day collectibles to have come out of Carson City on that press. I believe the half dollar was chosen over the 1870 dollar due to concerns about potential damage to the press from the minting of anything larger.
I was lucky enough to add this one to the collection recently. 1859 is the first year the San Francisco mint produced a one dollar coin. They were made specifically for trade. I've read that the entire mintage of 20,000 was sent to the Orient and I've read that a few thousand were held back and remained in the US. No idea which story is actually true and I've no idea if this coin went to the Orient and came back or never left our shores. Either way she's a beautiful survivor and I couldn't resist scooping her up. Breen-5462.

I don't know, there are 5 MS67's that CAC, PCGS has it as a 4/2 coin in 67 and a 2/0 in 67+ then you have the NGC coins. I own one of the other MS67's that is CAC as well. CAC does not denote the plus grade in the POP report.
I would say it does, there is a picture of it on coin facts.

No, it's straight-graded. My photos do not do it justice.
