I've mentioned elsewhere that I'm pivoting from "set" collecting, to the concept of "Box of 20," in which I choose the coins that interest me. I find this attractive, because I have grown weary of spending a bunch of money buying (and then, often, upgrading) whole sets, when I really don't much care about most of the individual coins.
I have enjoyed going off on a tangent, and buying die-varieties (e.g., 1955 DDO Lincoln cent; 1918/7-D buffalo nickel, and lots of other, less expensive, examples).
Which got me to kind of wanting to own, e.g., an old large cent; but I had no "collection" to put it in.

Fairly rare token, given its higher grade. 1857 Cincinnati Ohio W B Chapman Merchant Trade Token OH-70 Blue Lick Soda Water .German silver 19mm (Wright 162; Miller Pa 88 There are 4 different merchant cards for this merchant and this one lists on the top. Also has a great look and who wouldn't want to try BLUE LICK WATER
Not an expensive coin at all, but I came across it searching for other coins and it caught my eye. It's got a blue-ish tone to it and extremely clean for a steelie.
One can make an argument that this is the toughest of the Philly mint seated Liberty halves. It sure tore a hole in my wallet. I had seen this coin up for auction but decided not to get involved with any AU58 CAC "Everyman's dream" coin, but the price stayed at the opening bid ($2200) up until the auctioneer said "going twice," then I had to jump in and off we went. Just what I wanted to avoid, but I HAVE this tough date now, and they are tougher to find than the 1851, IMO. For eample, at the moment, there are seven 1851s and only one 1852 on Collector's Corner. eBay the last three months has had four 1851s and only one 1852.
This coin looks like a better strike for an 1852, which apparently do not come fully struck up.

It's funny: When I saw how the photos showed here, I wondered the same thing.

To me it looks like the typical appearance for a genuine (original) early-date Walking Liberty half dollar.
