I picked this up a few months ago. Morgans are my "side project". I don't usually actively search for them, but when I see one I like, I buy it if I have the funds.

Mine too. I’m stuck on 1878 ogh rattler 1.2. Can’t seem to find one oddly enough.
Nice coin.
Struck in 1899 but dated 1900 I got this “very rare” 3-D Layafette Dollar. It completes my collection of year 1900 coins. It’s the first legal tender coin to bear a portrait of Washington.

About 10-13% of Lafayettes, the middle child in that way. If they ever get premiums, the 3D should get a little something.
I've been on an F12 kick lately. Bought a 1912 S V nickel F12, 1890-CC Morgan F12...now this. Not high end coins, but they're going into a set i'm giving to a family member that collects, but doesn't have alot of expendable income. Should be a nice surprise.
I just bought this to go along with my Merrimac token... made from the armor of that armor clad... does anyone know if any were made from the armor of the Monitor?

Most of the Ironclad was lost, but in 2002, approximately one fifth of the ship was recovered. I do not believe any coins or token could have been made from it. Here is some good info if you are interested:

Hey @dsessom
I had forgotten we were talking about Fairmont a couple months ago in another thread. Did you pick up any this
go around?
It’s funny about this coin. I really concentrate on Type 1 20s but was watching the auction until the end. This coin rolled up and I really liked it! Thought it was reasonable enough so I bought it on an impulse.
Damn glad I did, because I like it even better now!
Of course I’m not always that lucky on impulse buys.😂
For the last several years, I've been carrying on an internal debate about whether to upgrade two of my raw XF Morgans. I finally did so. And I'm pleased!

Not this time. I had purchased an 1845 half eagle for my girlfriend for Christmas, from the Fairmont Collection.
You got a hell of a deal on that 1925 Saint! Congrats!

I agree. It doesn't seem real, so I guess it's unreal.

I've been searching for a 2 leaves 1795 flowing hair dollar for some time now and finally made a purchase today!
Nice find. Where did you locate this one?
Hey it's better than any 1800 half dime I have! Nice pick up man, if you ever want to relocate it hit me up, I've got a great home for it
Found it through collectors corner / David Lawrence

I just purchased another coin that I did not need AGAIN!
I put in what I thought was a low ball bid on this coin and..... voila I win.
I already have a nice example of the same date, so I guess I will have to sell/trade one of them at the CSNS.
Strange choice of words here! Every coin I've ever purchased was because I NEEDED to! lol
