It is a truly fantastic coin. I waxed poetic about it on Instagram. Such a gorgeous combination of crusty originality with amazing luster. I love this coin, thank you!!!

Haven't been able to find any info as to when snd who the maker was. Similar to the huge Lucky Penny Medals.
This one looks like it has some gold gilt on it too.

Trade and Commerce – Coppers 20 Percent Premium Although common Civil War token it is a bit larger in diameter 22mm (not much) larger than the norm....and thicker. This and the "Coppers 20 Percent Premium made it one of the most popular among merchants. It was issued by John Gault of New York, who was a well-known seller of encased postage stamps.

Had been looking for an upgrade on this one and here it is from Heritage auctions.:

Edited update to upgrade.
I'm happy it found a good home. I sent virtually my entire collection and my entire accumulation to Heritage last fall to work out a trade, and they've been working through the auctions. Exciting to see them come back on this board.

I really searched far and wide for this coin.
Be assured that it has found a permanent home here in my registry set.

Here’s a fun one that I picked up from Jason over at DLRC. This gem was lost by USPS for a week but was in the mailbox without signature this morning. Gotta love ‘em.
Rarity on this $2.50 Liberty is a 9.3 which fits my collection goals of being both a gem and on the more rare side of the house.
My 12 piece now has the following dates in gem grade:
40s
60s
70s
80s
90s
00s
To go with the book I bought at the Denver show. I had avoided these because I know myself too well. I do not need to accumulate 100 of these in a month. Just going for the really rare ones that present well and not for a personal collection. (Yeah, right.....)
An upgrade for my gold type set. This Type 3 Dollar is replacing an MS63 that I have never been fully content with as far as eye appeal is concerned. I am very pleased with all 3 types now!
I always wanted a US coin dated in the 1700's. It's difficult to find these with a straight grade, lots of detail coins out there with corrosion or damage.

This was a tough find, but looks to be an excellent example of an 1889-S Morgan.
Just need 1888 now if anyone has one.
