Nice for the grade. The braided hair cents are fairly available, even in the early years of the series like this one. I believe the Large Date version (such as this one) is slightly more available than the Small Date one.

Just my approach and my opinion, but I have no desire to strive for high or highest grade coins - I love original and interesting coins, and don’t care at all that they’ve circulated, matter of fact it adds to the allure. This coin is a perfect example of the type of coin that I seek.

Just fantastic! Love the hard surfaces, even color, and strike. Well done, Ken!

Would @ricko would award this one a blast white sticker?
It is a very nice looking coin with a minute toning on the reads.
I belive he would have.

I think him and I would agree on the word tarnish. I got this one in last Sunday's auction also. Thanks for looking.
Thanks guys! The 1884 looks better than most MS65RBs out there. If not for a mark on the D in UNITED, this coin would be a solid 66. The reverse is absolutely mark free! Should be a shoe-in for the CAC sticker and if Im lucky, maybe I'll get my first gold bean!
Due to some (very positive) life circumstances, I’ve slowed my collecting activity somewhat, but I saw this as a nice pickup and couldn’t help myself…. I don’t tend to buy non-CAC’d federal coins but this has the look I love, the right era, a nice OGH, and was reasonably priced.
Other passions include golf, Moto Guzzi motorcycles, and Euro motorcycles in general.

Picked up the book at a book sale last year for.50 cents then put the barber half in to finish it. The half is listed above as well, have a good day all

I like these too. I have 4 different albums and they are rather easy and fast to complete. I got them to give to my grandkids when they get a little older.

Thats cool 😎 👍
Ill know where this one is going when it gets there 🤔
It took a while to find one that I like enough to pay as much as it took to get it; thanks, GC!
I kind of like what appears to be a prominent die crack through the date.

Grabbed this one for a small coin folder, it fit
Picked this up a few weeks back. MS64RB in an older PCGS holder.

It has since Eagle Eye stickered and it is now with CAC going for the double sticker.
Also with CAC is this very nice 1884 S-1, PCGS MS65RB. Top population for this variety, there is one other MS65RB, but the obverse is pretty spotted.

@redraider: great pickups Jonathan!

@redraider, absolutely love the 1884, Jonathan. My favorite grade of Indian head cents.
