It bugs me that a card loses grading points because of a gum stain on the back. That came from the factory like that!

Same could be said for poor centering, PD, etc. It’s a question of eye appeal!

Wait, what, no! I am really starting to realize I must be the odd one because not once in my life until grading cards started to gain popularity did I ever care about the back of card. Did I mention it's on the BACK of the card.

I respect everyone's opinions but I am totally burning out from the graded card market. I do not like what it has become!

Nice basketball pulls! I'm surprised that PSA labeled the Kobe,AI,Allen & Nash '96 Bowman Best with an RK designator. I just checked ebay and most have the RK but some actually say Rookie too.

Speaking of grading - the results are in on 42 basketball cards I pulled a year or two ago.

The cards are from 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2003 packs. Each went straight into a penny sleeve and holdered.

    NO 10's, some 9's, 8's, a couple 7's and a 5. Three N6 Min Size.

    Here are the 9's:

Did you submit these because they were the best cards, or just because they were the best players?

@daltex - mainly the cards I felt had the most value. Rookies and rarity. I have a group of other star cards from the same boxes I opened that I probably won't grade now.

I think Chris @jordangretzkyfan has shown how difficult it is to get tens on "pack fresh" cards, and not considering Joe Barry Carrol or Sam Bowie only makes it that much harder.

This will be fun - thanks for sharing. Hope the first card centering is representative of the whole box for you.

The pic looking down that vending box is outrageous....cards just sitting there the past 50+ years! Crazy.

Does that mean the other 23 vending boxes from the case just went up in price?

Sayers and Namath are two of the very best cards in that beautiful set.

Nice! Cards are mostly centered and you’re hitting better than est.3.8 cards of each hall of famer

Love the Riggins Rookie! It was the first card my Father ever bought me. Trying to get a Riggins Rookie in the DC area in the 1980's was very pricey so my Dad bought me one while he was in Seattle on a business trip.

Cool Riggins fact: His older Brother was a star Football player and his Dad always favored the older brother. That all changed later on when John clearly became the better player with much more talent. A similar scenario happened to Stevie Ray Vaughn with his older Brother Jimmy Vaughn (The Fabulous Thunderbirds).

There are no SP’s in 1972 FB, actually none at all in the Topps FB sets from the late 60’s thru the mid 80’s where I Stop. 2nd series checklists are usually a DP though

@daltex - I only pulled 2 NFC Passing Leaders but there are 3 more AFC Passing Leaders not in the pic above.

This has been a great blast from the past for me Chris.

Was a Raiders fan in '72.

How many cards are you subbing to PSA?

I think that concludes the 72 Topps Football Series 1 Vending reveal. I have about 100 commons or so that are pretty snazzy. Some are dead centered.

Up next I have some autographs back on cards I personally pulled!!
