What are the grading criteria on the cloths? They can't judge corners the same as regular cards can they? Seems like the cloths would always have softer corners due to material.
A Catfish and another Reggie to wrap things up fittingly.
1977 Yankees win the World Series:
Without its ace Jim Hunter, the A’s would fall to last place by 1977. The Yankees, meanwhile, were revitalized by their new addition. Hunter would lead them to three consecutive pennants and back-to-back World Series titles in 1977-78, restoring the Bronx Bombers to the top of the baseball world. “You started our success,” Yankees owner George Steinbrenner told Hunter upon the pitcher’s induction to the Hall of Fame in 1987. “You were the first to teach us how to win.”
The 1977 World Series cemented Jackson's legacy as a postseason performer, giving him the nickname "Mr. October".
Has anyone ever had trouble with the 1977 cloths sticking to the card holder they are in and separating from the backing over time? I have never owned these, but know the Wacky Packages cloth stickers, which appear similar, are almost impossible to store safely because of this.
This weekend I went through some cards I had ripped in the past couple years and set aside.
Came across this one. A 1974 OPC #3 I pulled from a Wax Pack. It has a smudge up by the A in Hank. I found some images of the same card on the internet and it appears the smudge may be common amongst this card and in the same location??? Any OPC experts that can comment on this?? (NOTE: the scratch across Hank's face is the holder not the card)
Anyways, I will get it graded. It needs to be in a PSA holder.
Gonna shift gears back over to Football. Specifically 1972 Topps.
I've ripped some 72 the past couple years including some recently.
Here are 2 "Captain America" ROOKIES I very recently pulled from 2 rack packs. The better of the 2 will get straight graded. The other has been shipped for an upcoming Staubach Auto Signing.
The centering in the 2 racks was a bit tough all in all with only a few cards with snazzy centering.
"In 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon."

Also a nicely centered Al Bundy ROOKIE!!

Awesome trivia!! He went on to a very successful closet business as I understand it… fyi.

I looked up this card in eBay, both up for sale now and completed auctions. Every one had some degree of that smudge by the "A" in "Hank".

It bugs me that a card loses grading points because of a gum stain on the back. That came from the factory like that!
Tell this to PSA and SGC when they say a card is minsizerq. If they are certain it was cut by the factory and untrimmed, why do they refuse to holder it? They act like they don't holder cards 50% smaller than the standard size within other sets... There really is no excuse for this unless they truly don't know the difference between trimmed and factory-cut...
Comments
There are 2 stickers in each pack and 1 puzzle card.
In this box there were two packs however that did have 3 stickers in a pack plus the puzzle card. That was a nice surprise bonus.
Any Thurm's?
I think I have one but didn't holder.
The full set has 55 cards and the box has 72 plus bonus cards....were you close to completing a set?
Honestly don't know off hand. I just took the best and sleeved them for grading. The rest I put into a plastic card box.
Shared a couple Brocks on Page 4.
Here's a couple more. I have more pics to take.
Ordered an Oilers Hockey Puck to take a pic of the "Hat Trick" !!
There’s just something about the puck and 666 that’s hard for me to digest. 😂
Thanks,
David (LD_Ferg)
1985 Topps Football (starting in psa 8) - #9 - started 05/21/06
Two more ROOKIES of "The Bird" !
For the mid-70s you're getting some very nicely centered cards.
Chris…
Those 1977 Topps Cloth are beautiful! I noticed centering is almost dead-on. Congrats!
Thanks Monte - just a few more to share and its a wrap on 77 Cloth.
Gorgeous!
Yaz Master Set
#1 Gino Cappelletti master set
#1 John Hannah master set
Also collecting Andre Tippett, Patriots Greats' RCs, Dwight Evans, 1964 Venezuelan Topps, 1974 Topps Red Sox
That is the best group of 77 cloths I've ever seen, without a doubt... BEAUTIFUL cards! Congrats and can't wait to see what's next.

Great presentation.
Great thread! Is PSA determined not to give you a 9 or something? Haha. The centering on this last 77 box is nuts! Also, I agree, open it all!
The McDonalds trophy set with the display stand holds graded cards very nicely. They are sold on eBay.
Your Gretzky’s would shine 🍺
A Catfish and another Reggie to wrap things up fittingly.

@Goldenage - those cards and the miniature trophies are awesome!!

2 new adds for opening...

Unreal centering on that Aaron.
I know nothing about the print issue
I have a bunch of fresh cards at PSA for grading, more shipped today and still more to send.
Gonna shift gears back over to Football. Specifically 1972 Topps.

Any Staubach is a good Staubach!
Looking forward to the 1974 FB vending results. Here are 3 Staubach’s I pulled from wax packs years ago, look a lot like yours. John
Current obsession, all things Topps 1969 - 1972
@jmoran19 - Staubach's are tough!! I also have a 72 FB 1st Series Vending to open.
A 1972 Topps Football 3rd Series Wax Pack
Also a nicely centered Al Bundy ROOKIE!!
"In 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon."
The color on those are amazingly beautiful.

❤️
I kept my mouth shut, but that dead centered Jim Brown was dying for a graph.
Only one PSA 8 with ink with none higher.
Show us the Roger graph when it returns.
The other 1972 Topps Football 3rd Series Wax Pack.
A super fun pack to open!!
Beautiful Namath and AP’s.
Fritsch has unreal 3rd series packs/boxes. Cards are immaculate.
These look great too.
Centering on the Namath is 👍

Bright white blazers!
Successful card BST transactions with cbcnow, brogurt, gstarling, Bravesfan 007, and rajah 424.
Too bad the gum card was a HoFer.
These I pulled from Wax within the past couple years.
That Fran card is very nice.
Always loved Charlie Joiner. Dude doesn't get enough credit for his career.

Same could be said for poor centering, PD, etc. It’s a question of eye appeal!
