What do you mean by language neutral?

  • Essentially "1 Fr." and "Helvetia" is understandable in any of the official languages of Switzerland. Sort of the opposite of the Belgian coins using French text and Flemish text examples.

    How does this work again?

How about a bilingual coin since this seems to be stalling out.

Does this French uniface medal count as language neutral?

If so, the next theme will be a coin with clouds on it

Regardless, by way of the 24-hour rule, you had the right to reset the theme anyway, so here are some clouds on a circa 1740 French silver jeton. (With Aurora, the goddess of the Dawn, riding her chariot through them.)

Next, let's have another European jeton or medal.

Here is a “Rebel” peso issued by the Argentine rebels seeking to overthrow General Rosas. Did not end well for them. Does that count a a rebellion coin in silver?

Coin with a Llama or Alpaca

I can't remember which this one is, and I may or may not still own it. It could have been in one of my recent-ish consignments (or still sits it the 'to be sold' pile).

    Next theme, a mountain.

I'm being a hog here, but this is relative newp for me:

    Next theme: a god.

    Edited to add:
@lordmarcovan - I learned something new today! I thought the figure on the 3 Gulden was Pallas Athena! From wikipedia: The gulden design featured Pallas Athena standing, holding a spear topped by a hat in her right hand,[18] resting with her left forearm on Gospels set on an ornate basis, with a small shield in the legend.

But other sources say different: "Standing togate personification of the Dutch Republic (Hollandia), wearing plummed helmet, holding reversed spear, topped by a hat and leaning on book, placed on a decorated column. Date (1794) below."

    ^ I don't think that's Athena, but it's nice. Very nice.

Here, I'll fix it. Assigned theme: Athena.

    New theme: any goddess.

If it's ok, next: coin with bad man.

No, she was a queen, not a goddess.

But we can still play your coin with a bad man next. I like that idea.

Bad man. Nero was a bad emperor in many ways, if stories are to be believed.

Next: another tyrant or infamous ruler.

Next coin with man who was killed after coin's issue.

Oh, wow. I was looking for a dove, and forgot all about that type! I have one too.

"Next coin with man who was killed after coin's issue."

This Roman denarius of Julius Caesar was struck just prior to the Ides of March, 44 BC, when Caesar was assassinated.

It's not a very attractive example, but very historical.

Next: another assassinated or executed leader.

The state was founded like independent state and in a year (+-) was deposed. In another words: the state appeared and in a year disappeared.
If nobody will post I'll post later.

@Sergey74 Not sure if this counts, but here is a denarius of Emperor Otho that I have since sold:
He only ruled for a couple months.
Sorry I do not have a picture of the reverse. If it counts maybe the next theme should be a castle

  • Sergey74Sergey74 Posts: 206 ✭✭✭

I mean the state, not the ruler but maybe it's difficult. So if nobody knows the state next theme "castle", ok. I'll post what i mean with 2-3 coins tomorrow. Now in Russia is night.

    Peace.

  • Sergey74Sergey74 Posts: 206 ✭✭✭

    Here's what i mean:
    Lombardia

    Venezia

    Roman Republic

Story about this roman coin. I bought it near 2 years ago in Russia with price $300. The seller said me that he had bought it in auction in Britain. And i found this lot with price near $60. Good deal for him, what i can say, but i like this coin, rare in my country.
    Next coin with castle.

    Peace.

  • lordmarcovanlordmarcovan Posts: 43,969 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Coin with castle.

This Dutch jeton from the 80 Years War shows Spanish soldiers beheading prisoners on one side. The other side features a soldier atop a tower, armed with an early musket (arquebus).
