1972 NHL Action Player transfers. There are 24 in the set, each with a folded paper rink background, a wax sleeve with the transfers and a see-through plastic sleeve that protects the wax sleeve:
I forgot to mention that PSA no longer grades the wax sleeves with the transfers. I guess perhaps because the item has three pieces that should not be separated. If anyone has a more reasonable or better-sourced reason, then I would appreciate being informed. Thanks
Latest addition for my '74 Topps Red Sox team set. Was happy to get this HOFer TTM, though I feel bad that his health has seemed to lapse a little now that he's 82. I now have 19 autographs in my team set. This is one of 3 for this project that I'm sending in on the current PSA/DNA group sub.

1990 Donruss holds a special place in my heart. I remember ripping it when it came out and being excited that Yaz was in the set with his Dick Perez portrait card.
My LCS picked up a large and varied collection over the weekend. We sort of have an arrangement where I'm near the top of the list to call in the event that he wants to get rid of a large, bulky volume of "junk years" with minimal turn time. He usually gives me a great price, with the idea that he can recoup large chunks of his investment almost immediately, plus he avoids having to store it for long in the limited space of his store, or worry about the huge shipping costs by selling online. He then is able to keep the best items, and more manageable volumes, with a much lower cost basis.
So this is what I left his shop with:

A factory sealed 1986 Topps 6 box rack case, a 1986 Topps 3 box rack case that the glue on the seal had failed, a 1987 Topps vending case, and a 1989 Topps vending case.
.
Also, a 1982 Topps Traded set with the tape still intact.
.
And then, just because, a few individual junk wax boxes and a factory sealed 1990 Score football set.
This particular Gretzky rookie has a fun story behind it. I bought it at a show in 2001. Paid half Beckett for it from a guy who bought collections and flipped them at local shows. At the time I didn't have a clue about PSA. I just knew I always wanted a Gretzky rookie and it was the first time I had money and access to buy one.
I submitted it to SGC in 2008 and it came back a SGC 92. As my collection grew, I have come to appreciate the rough cut of this card more and more. I have only PSA cards in my collection now, so last month I cracked it, assuming it would be a PSA 8. Glad it graded an 8 in 2020. It is one of my favourite cards and I think it looks really nice in this holder.

Thought it was apropos considering the current hobby state. I got this in spring training of 1989, I think. I remember thinking how enormous McGwire was.

Love that card. I met him at Tristar in Houston about 3 years ago. I got him to sign one and then slabbed it as Authentic. I have thought often about getting a 10 to match it.
Can someone help me ? Where were these inserted? I know it’s a buy back auto but what product were they found in? Stamp on the card but I can’t read it with my old eyes.

I've always liked the blue lines on the back that indicate the first print run because the registration and focus on the cards is usually much clearer than the later print runs.

This particular Gretzky rookie has a fun story behind it. I bought it at a show in 2001. Paid half Beckett for it from a guy who bought collections and flipped them at local shows. At the time I didn't have a clue about PSA. I just knew I always wanted a Gretzky rookie and it was the first time I had money and access to buy one.
