What coin(s) are you waiting to turn up?
Everyone has a coin they're waiting on. This can be a coin that you know exists or one that you simply believe must be out there. Can be a condition or absolute rarity, and doesn't necessarily have to be in your own price range. There are several that would fit these criteria for me, but a couple stand out:
MS 1878-CC Trade Dollar w/ Chop Mark, ex-Willem. This coin has been known for many decades and featured as the prize coin of one of the earliest Trade Dollar scholars, John Willem. Last sold at the sale of the Hal Walls collection by Paul Bosco in '97 (high bid of $2700). An example in PCGS 62 exists in the Pops, but I have no idea where that example is, or if they are the same coin.
Additionally, any 1875-P Trade Dollar with authentic chops that bears the die characteristics of a true 75-P (not a damaged 75-S or -CC); I believe I have seen one, but it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Ditto on the two coins you've listed, which are the remaining major coins I need. There are plenty [well, maybe not plenty - more like a few] of minor varieties left for me to chase, too.

I'd love to find two items that are listed in the DeWitt / Sullivan political tokens books.
The first is the 1801 Jefferson Inaugural Medal. With 12 or 13 known in silver my chances are not good.
The second is an 1844 James K. Polk piece that advocated Texas statehood. It is listed as JP 1844-5. My chances are a little better on that one.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I've been digging in the backyard to locate a box with $100 in 18th century US quarter and half eagles....Haven't found much yet, except a bottle cap, some nails and a squirrel skull. But it's got to be there.....

I passed on a pcgs MS67+ 1938d Buffalo nickel in Dalton a couple weeks ago.
Keep hoping to find a raw MS68 in the wild.

After completing my Kennedy Silver Short Set I’m on to the Franklin circulation FBL basic set. There’s 34 coins in this set and I don’t have any yet. Prices are a lot higher to try a keep it in the MS66 range. I saw a 55 Bugs Bunny that had potential. Snow White. 👍

I've been lucky recently. I was waiting for a specific white metal William Bridgens storecard and was able to pick it up recently. Another So-Called Dollar recently became available after I registered it on my dealer want list.

Wow! I've been waiting for a 1879 gold Grant Parade medal (2 known) to appear and in between checking this thread and eBay, one of the two specimens appeared.
The 2 specimens are graded NGC MS63 DPL and NGC MS62 PL.
- The 63 DPL sold for $2,585.00 in 2015.
- The 62 PL is now offered for $16,000.00.
I'll have to hold for now off given the price but it’s nice to see pics of it.
