However there's just no conceivable way the Dodgers could win two straight games at Fenway against this Red Sox team. Basically impossible. Wrapping it up at home would be sweeter.

I am old enough to remember 1986. After the ball went between Buckner’s legs in game 6, the result of game 7 was a forgone conclusion. I knew it wasn’t worth the electricity to watch it in TV. You take the wins when you can get them. Only the old time Yankees could pick when they were going to win.

I like Kelly. I don't know where he gets his power. He actually threw 3 curve balls in a row to a batter, which isn't fair when his fastball is 99-100 MPH !

Going through the Yankees then the Astros was a tough road but this team never let up, what an unbelievable season. Great job RED SOX!!!

I have been watching them since the late 40,s so have to agree that this was the best team that they have had in my lifetime even though I can't go to see them anymore. Even if I could I would not fit in those seats ! Duck boats Wednesday.

Here's a question to my fellow Sox fans,now that Price has proven himself in the playoffs/world series do you want him opting in or opting out of his contract? He has five days to decide what he's going to do.

I’d like him to opt out. Look the guy cane up HUGE but let’s be real here, freeing up all that money would be good in my opinion. Watching Price reminded me of ‘07 with Dice K, he had a huge WS and I’m thankful for that but outside of that I’d like someone more dependable. Either way THE SOX DID IT AGAIN!! Best Red Sox team ever assembled the way I see it.

I honestly think he's staying here. He won't find another team willing to hand over 31M a year to him. He might have got the playoff monkey off his back but you just know that he's still a drama queen when it comes to the media here.
I hope we see Pierce,Kelly & Eovaldi re-signed,maybe even see if Eovaldi is interested in becoming the closer and letting Kimbrel walk.

Price won't walk and the reason is 31m per season. I never use the term "per year"...the season is from April - September...6 months of throwing a baseball every 5 games. Great gig if you can get it. NOBODY is gonna pay him that kinda money if he walks. $5m+ per month is pretty sick.

I would give big coin to Eovaldi, Pearce is worth a bump and Kelly is gonna stay too. Kimbrellia...too many heartattack moments...no tears here if he goes.

Dump Kimbrel- I agree. Price? He’s a keeper. The way this league is going, he’s very valuable - he throws innings, he’s mostly effective and throughout his career he’s proven he’ll take the ball every fifth day (most of the time). He’s not worth the money but none of them are. You pay mostly for past (not current) performance in sports.

Good post...thanks for the sportsmanship, you are indeed a rare Yankee fan. Hope your team doesn't get saddled with Manny "dirty ballplayer" Machado. I think your GM has some interest. How I loved seeing him make the last out and dropping to his knee, and actually forming the letter K for strikeout.

When a player signs a contract,especially one like Price's,he represents the team year round not just every 5 games during the season. Not to mention training camp starts in february not april and the majority of players are getting their bodies ready long before they get to training camp.

We are stuck with him weather it is for the good or bad. We have been stuck with others as that is the chance you take when you acquire these has beens for big money. You are paying for what they have done in the past.
