They will not be listed as sold out until all these late sales are received and the time to return expires...I have two orders (four sets) on the way and will probably be delivered on Tuesday (Monday holiday). So at least a week after that assuming the return shipping time is not added to that...

Not that I would return them anyway.......

Block Island is up to $405 with a couple days to go in another auction.

For the better part of nearly 1,000 sets we screened, I submitted just Block Island quarters. The other nearly 4,000 quarters we did not even look at for grading. No doubt others did the same. So, comparing pops of another one vs. Block Island fails to take into account what I am doing (and no doubt others). Also, I paid for min. Grade 70, so every coin that failed to grade 70, I paid a fee but they were not holdered and not reflected in the pop report. Just the skewed number of 70s alone appeared on the pop report and none of the vast majority of coins that failed to make 70.

We screened 182 fresh sets for a friend who ordered them through me to get my bulk discount from the Mint. There were (4) shot 70 Block Island submitted from the 182 screened and 2 graded 70. So, my submission result was 50% grade through on his order, but only the two showed up in the pop report as 70s. Yet, 180 specimens will never be considered by inexperienced collectors studying just raw PCGS population data. They will only consider the (2).

    Conclusion...

True grade through rate of my friends (182) sets - A little over 1% (2/182)
Grade through rate of submitted coins - 50% (2/4)
Grade through rate of coins actually entered in pop report / Coinfacts from his (182) set screeing - 100% (2/2)

As always, just my 2 cents....

That is some amazing work you do!

Can't know. You might not see any for weeks and then have a couple pop up. Depends on where the missing 900 sets are, as well. I can never get a clear answer on whether they re-sell returns or scrap them.

$55 + shipping? No thanks! If they had kept the price similar to the Enhanced set then maybe. I’ll wait a few months like other people have stated and get them for less.

Good luck with that wish. Raw sets are selling for $80+, and appear to be steadily rising. We finally had a winner. Wow, two in one year so far.

It looks like raw sets are trending closer to $100.

    jmlanzafjmlanzaf Posts: 41,183 ✭✭✭✭✭

You may some day see sub-$55, but I think it'll be a long while. These sets don't have the inventory overhang of the 2017-S EU sets and have a lower mintage than most modern proof sets.

I had over 300 sets and I'm almost out. If the Mint wants to sell me the remaining 900 sets, I'll take them. Actually, I'll pay the full $55 for any sets returned to the Mint for any reason.

We may or may not see any ever again at 7:30 a.m.

Maybe..but even 10% Ebay bucks makes it $135...and yes, they were priced at $92 back in August but when he raised the BIN to a current $149 it sold..interesting to follow if there will be any more hits

As long as the remind me button is still there they may offer more for sale. I bought 3 unopened late so hopefully there is an unfinished reverse proof Kennedy in there.

Well back to the real world. The Block Island quarter in reverse PR70 is now about $250. Have not seen much new monetary benefits of different reverse proof Kennedy finishes?

This is sort of back to reality as the quarter price is similar to some other dates/varieties/years now in PR70. It was a big ride for a new quarter, well over $1,000 at one point. I paid more than current prices for mine, but that is normal for me.

    It takes two to tango.

I could have bought for less, and the seller could have sold for more.

Or, I could have bought for more, and the seller could have sold for less.

    LOL

I believe that if you wait until the fervor dies down on "Hot" Mint issues, you may be wrong once a year, but the other ten times you'll save money. And, you'll definitely come out ahead in the long run!

We just got an order a couple days ago for $700 for a nice clean BI in 70. I was surprised it was a bit higher than I expected. We even offered a courtesy 10% off the price that was offered to us, but buyer was not interested in the discount.

Really Sorry you paidmucho money. You could always buy about 10 of the at current prices to Average down unless it drops more to say $75.00 in the near future. Then they might jump up at which you could sell some of them to get some of that money back. B)B)

Can't one of you Mint insiders get the skinny from your account manager at the Mint?

I tried to get them to give me the number of someone in the food chain who could sell me all the returns, as is, at list price. They did not help.

This one had "success" written all over it....I bought a crapload (for me anyway) and did some bottom feeding to grab a bunch of raw Light finish halves...most are on their way back from ATS in slabs....didn't break up any sets but I have many that have the light finish halves in them

I think MANY sets were broken up because of the light finish halves so complete sets SHOULD sell at a premium....

    Weird completed sale prices...same day (yesterday) $139.95, $110, $97, $145, $156, $138, $118, $149, $139, $129

All but one ($110) were BIN's

Certainly a better success than the enhanced sets from last year.

Very true from what I have seen over the last 10+ years watching the new releases from the mint.
There is usually 1 or 2, every year or so, that defy that, but the majority do seem to adhere to that way of thinking.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

"High wire" -- so it's a raised rim that's thickens that part of the dime? If it were placed in a tube of dimes, it would stand out/not stack the same, correct?
