Since it is a "normal" S-Mint silver eagle I sure will not be interested in that "limited" 18RC set. I just checked 2018-S Silver eagle Proof on CoinFacts.
There are 10,891 70's graded at PCGS and a truly mind boggling 63 different labels for one common, proof bullion coin. Label collector heaven.
Why do people want so many labels, and why do they pay so much extra for them, especially for something like this coin worth IMO about $20 melt. When the Mint prints limited edition cardboard and resells coins they already sold, why do people buy them? I guess I am getting cynical in my old age.

"Set collectors" could be viewed as different than "coin collectors".
Frankly, "slab collectors" could also be considered a separate group from "coin collectors".
So from reading here the varieties seem to be in the last ones they are shipping now. I haven't opened my 3 yet. Still waiting to see if these varieties take off o> @Goldminers said:
So now the last two Block quarters sold on eBay for $622.50 and $645.53. Pop 283 now.
So are these prices supported by registry set owners or herd mentality?
200K is not rare at all except maybe in the context of the overall Washington Quarter Series. And if that was the case all the silver reverse quarters would be in great demand. This block quarter is no longer a conditional rarity with over 200 in 70 with more to come until the gravy train ceases. .

The population this morning is 320, and so I agree, no real condition or mintage rarity here. Prices are still high due to the early speculators, but will continue to drop as the populations overtake the actual market demand of registry and other coin collectors.
For those who have struck out on the light varieties, you really need to see one in hand to be able to recognize them compared to a regular (cameo) finish. I went through nearly 100 sets without finding ANY until I actually bought one on eBay (out of frustration) and was able to compare it with mine side-by-side. At first I thought I got hosed because it looked "normal" like mine -- but when I layed it out on the table amongst 20 other RP Kenns, turned out that half of them were the LIGHT (darker, actually) finish! Ended up with about 50 total - and I'm sure I had already sold several LIGHT singles without knowing it. Surely many sets being sold online will contain the variety. I just bought an NGC PF70 First Day issue that was LIGHT (not yet attributed).
As others have said, once you have an eye for the variety, they will be easy to spot.
Happy Hunting!

What are these raw sets going for now a days. Missed getting one from the mint.
From what I can see $75-$100 per set, some sealed some opened.
Is the light finish all to do with nothing? I assume it only pertains to the half correct?
I was late on these
Box of 10 unopened $1000 bucks obo, still up n runnin, one for $875, another for $850. Any chance these will fall of a cliff like the 99 silver proof sets? Remember how hot these were, now you can't give em away.

There's always a chance. The mintage here is lower. The 1999 was not limited and was driven by the popularity of the beginning of the State Quarter series. There's over 800,000 1999 silver proof sets minted.
Prices surged another $10 up this morning -- most everything under $80 vanished. Buyer sweep?

They did surge this week. I sold almost all of my remaining Kennedy light finish, quarter sets, cents, and even a lot of Sacs as well as the last 7 full sets I had.
I got 4 sets in today - all light finish.
This was the best Mint issue in years. I bought over 300 sets and am down to single coins with a NET pre-tax margin of 40%. That never happens with the Mint, or coins in general.
That said, I would recommend making all your money by the end of the year. I'm not sure how much upside there is moving forward, especially with the light finish halves. I wholesaled the last 60 of them that I had because I don't think the current price point will hold. There are thousands of them out there.

Figures! Because I didn’t wake up early today to check them today since none came abailable the past two days lol. That’s what I get for sleeping in lol

There's no predicting it. You could go a week without any then get 5. Or you could get one a day for a week. Or, if anyone remembers the EU sets last year, you could go weeks without any get 50 go weeks without any and get a "sold out" sign. LOL.
I had two left in the bag...got those. Went back and placed another order for two...got those. Went back again and was able to put two more in bag but that's when they ended....BUT...I still have two in my Bag for next time
If I had guts I could have at least added four more to my bag and got six but I never know how many are available and if I go over then I'm toast..no time left to change
Block Island is up to $405 with a couple days to go in another auction.
For the better part of nearly 1,000 sets we screened, I submitted just Block Island quarters. The other nearly 4,000 quarters we did not even look at for grading. No doubt others did the same. So, comparing pops of another one vs. Block Island fails to take into account what I am doing (and no doubt others). Also, I paid for min. Grade 70, so every coin that failed to grade 70, I paid a fee but they were not holdered and not reflected in the pop report. Just the skewed number of 70s alone appeared on the pop report and none of the vast majority of coins that failed to make 70.
We screened 182 fresh sets for a friend who ordered them through me to get my bulk discount from the Mint. There were (4) shot 70 Block Island submitted from the 182 screened and 2 graded 70. So, my submission result was 50% grade through on his order, but only the two showed up in the pop report as 70s. Yet, 180 specimens will never be considered by inexperienced collectors studying just raw PCGS population data. They will only consider the (2).
Conclusion...
True grade through rate of my friends (182) sets - A little over 1% (2/182)
Grade through rate of submitted coins - 50% (2/4)
Grade through rate of coins actually entered in pop report / Coinfacts from his (182) set screeing - 100% (2/2)
As always, just my 2 cents....

Well worth remembering. Thank you for sharing.
There's the usual confirmation bias on the Board right now. People who DON'T believe in the Block Island quarters are running around screaming that people are stupid and overpaying for the coins (despite there being a LOT of Washington collectors) while at the same time people are waving the palladium coin prices around as proof of how smart they were to get in on this incredibly rare and valuable coin (despite the paucity of palladium collectors out there).

Did anyone get one this morning? They were available for about 30 seconds
I don't even look anymore...
Insert witicism here. [ xxx ]
Do most of the later delivery sets have the light finish half?
I bought 1. Only one I saw appear
Yes.
I went 0/10 with my recent sets..luck of the draw I guess
did they pop up available again today? I didn't see them
I didn't see them either....
Don't quote me on that.

I'm aware of the mintage but the 99's were at the $250-$300 level for a long time, then dropped steadily to less than $100 now, plus or minus.
i sold a unopen box of 2 -1999 silver proof sets for 800

I got two this am and I can GUARANTEE they will both have a normal half....just the way my orders go.
well I hope you get good ones!
I didn’t see these become available this morning. Did anyone get any?
