Never thought this thread would take off like this! These are some incredibly wonderful pieces, everyone.

Even though I have no more Top Pop's of my own, I check back with every new post for some well needed inspiration/drooling.

Pattern 1799 halfpenny by Fullerton in silver, NGC PF66CAM.

The Fullerton patterns are listed in the NGC Conder token census if they are mint state and under Great Britain patterns, restrikes and off-metal coins if they are proof.

Just remembered this one is Pop.1 in all grades.

Mine's apparently the only one graded, at PCGS, anyway.

So by default, this AU58 is top pop.

Top pop newp. 1859 triple punched 9, type 1 variety. Not the prettiest coin ever, but the only mint state example graded (or known). Next highest graded is AU-55.

All the others of this type have been graded ATS but I believe the highest graded over there is a 67

1787 over 6 Viceroyalty of New Spain 8 reales, Mexico City mint. Pop 1/0 (only one at NGC or PCGS). NGC F15

And my new one from Long Beach 1760 Bavaria thaler NGC MS-63.

Few others that I have in my phone...

CAR 1 escudo. This is top pop for the entire 1 escudo series.

Now, a Mexican half escudo 65+, top pop for 1846 and almost for the series (6 at 66).

Mexican 5 cents, 1901Cn. MS63.

Mexican 2 cents, 1883, MS65.

I shall look for the ones I have in my computer instead on my phone and share them with you.

Here's a cool, little coin. Struck at Philadelphia for Colombia. Mintage of 400,00. Odd silver fineness, 0.666. PCGS MS66 and strangely from the Kings Norton Mint Collection.

You would have to know this type to be impressed. Seen many hundreds maybe over 1000, and never saw an example even approaching this level of pristine. I've researched and matched the obverse and reverse dies to other examples with both types of c/m, most in typical scuffy condition, because the coin almost looks "too good". Bullion coin modeled after Austrian 4 ducats but struck in Belgrade with dies made in Paris. All were countermarked after striking which meant, of course, they had to be handled. Top pop for type at both services, Conservatively graded IMO, plus would almost certainly be called cameo Proof , not MS in Europe.

A total of two at PCGS and two at NGC in 66RB. None graded in "RD" designation at any grade. None graded higher than 66.

Here is mine. Not a highly collected series, but I like the design of these copper minors.

This is the 1673 halfpenny formerly in an NGC 65 slab. Somewhat optimistically graded for the reverse, and in any case is actually 1675 over 3 over 2, not 1673! Knowing there are a couple of people interested in this area, FYI, high grade Charles II halfpennies are a bit thin on the ground as at least 3 of the 11 slabbed 63 or higher are not, including a 64 PCGS.

This is the only one graded at PCGS, and at SP68. NGC has graded about a dozen, three in MS67 and none higher. Most of these are still raw, so "top pop" doesn't mean much.
