I don't deal with pops so I wouldn't have a clue. The 1812 O.107 die marriage is rather well known for all of the interesting die clashing on the reverse. I'm not clear if anyone else has a doubled profile and stars for this DM to the extent that this specimen exhibits. It could be a fairly unique coin for all I know.

It's a cool coin. Needless to say, I haven't lost interest in it during the ten years I've owned it.

I never seen another one like it..As I have a Merc dime with extreme clash marks on the obverse.
I will post a picture if I can find it...

And yes, I thought I paid to much for the coin at the time..1,000 about 7 years ago and sold it for 2,500
just recently Heritage.

I probably way over paid for this 1855-D gold dollar at the Summer FUN action. The piece is graded EF-45, but I think that it has enough luster, that does not show is this photo, to make AU-50 at least from the technical grading point of view. Just how badly I over paid will be evident shortly. There is an AU-53 graded piece that now up for auction.

I have paid strong money for many of my coins...many would say too much. But I paid way too much for this Monroe and am likely buried for life. But I don't care. Never seen another quite like it.

jom, whatever you paid for the dime and the half dime, it was not too much. If you want to sell them at cost - I'd be happy to take them off of your hands and then I can bear the responsibility of 'paid too much and don't care' on these two!

1858-0 dime MS66+ CAC - PCGS finest graded - pop 1 - ex Robison, RR, Gardner

I paid nearly 2X my bidding limit on this coin at Robison in 1982. You can get carried away trying out bid someone just as stubborn as yourself. I didn't care at the time but as the years marched on it was clear that it was one of my worst purchases ever. Let's just say that the Robison Proof 1839-0 half (NGC PF65 today) only sold for about 2.5X as much in the same sale. A good example that you CAN pay too much regardless if something is the finest known or whatever. It was recognized as a solid MS65 in 1988 by both NGC and PCGS. It took another 25+ years for PCGS to recognize it as a MS66. The longest I ever owned a condition census coin (22 yrs).
