The overlays match up very well no matter what some have said. The coin is a different type of strike no doubt, the dies are likely slightly different.

Actually, IMO the Fonts and letter spacing are different IN GOD WE TRUST.
I think what people are seeing is actually the difference between an early die state and a later die state (the Czech coin being the earlier die state).
Perhaps. I'll defer to Dan on this but I'll remain skeptical until authenticated by a TPG
10K is more than worthwhile stabbing imo.

Yes, the bias on this board has everyone thinking that everyone should slab everything.
By the way Catbert Really impressive piece of work on the overlays.
Not making any conclusive statements just pointing out some points to compare with other coins.

Just for the record, the overlays were done by Lance. I just bumped his post from earlier in thread so it could be seen by those commenting lately who had not seemingly viewed it earlier or had forgotten it. All credit goes to @lkeigwin

OK so I collect Walkers and I know this is an old thread, but it was mentioned today so I had to look it up. That arm looks as flat as a popsicle stick. What was the final consensus, if any?

For what it's worth, the one coin I've bought from this auction company looked remarkably different than the auction photo, to the point where I thought the photo must have been processed. It was an unpleasant experience. I won't buy from them again. Other collector friends have had a variety of problems. Check out the Google reviews.
...so, I would guess that the coin in hand looks different than the photo.
I hope more people stay away from Katz - i love deals. Did you know that if you were not sure about images in any of his auction lots, he would take high resolution videos for you?
that may reflect one of two things --- it is the special coin some have speculated and the owner is keeping it anonymous, or it is not genuine/altered as some have speculated and the owner is doing the same. like everyone else I sure would like an answer as to what it was/is and where it might be.

I'm glad you had a good experience, and I hope you get more deals. What generally (country, slabbed?) did you buy, and how long did it take to arrive?
I've purchased from these auctions before. Mr. Katz is very responsive via email. My recent purchase was a slabbed Austrian Taler from the 1690s. Arrived in about 5 weeks after the auction closed (took 4 weeks to ship, then arrived very quickly via DHL).
Based on the conduct of the majority that responded to this thread, if I owned the coin- which I do not- I would keep this as a mystery for reasons that should easily be self evident.

The other thread, even older, which I'd be bringing up is the one with that AT'd Peace Dollar that was an embarrassment to the Hobby. Happily, that scam was understood and fixed so that we all know the outcome. This one is gonna hang around like the Bermuda Triangle mystery. We will probably never know the truth.
I know Roger said "Counterfeit", but has anyone found any diagnostics that prove it to be counterfeit? If not, the hand is the most detailed hand I have ever seen. I have viewed many counterfeit coins and never one with this much more detail than the original. Would love to have diagnostic info that would support or dispute its authenticity. Just an opinion.

What if it was graded by our host and the Trueview looks nothing like the image contained in this thread that started the controversy?

this was one of the best threads of 2018.
For the owners sake; I would love to see it show up in a PCGS SP 67 slab but I’m not holding my breath....

An interesting thread that's worthy of being at the top every now and then. I wonder what ever became of it??

It is hard to believe this thread is nearly 5 years old already. I must be getting old.

To the top for this interesting thread from 2018 that someone asked about earlier today...
And here's a link to a follow-up to this thread, which includes picture of the subject coin:
