MCM has the slabbed sets NGC graded "Gem" FDI for $229.95...no grade...just "Gem"
Like was done with the first 5oz pucks. If they don't make a 70 then they get a "Gem" slab. Could be as low as 65. Lower gets returned to be sold as Raw.

So MCM already are thinking ahead of time San Francisco coin minting quality expectations for this will be that bad?
LOL. S-Mint does run hot and cold in quality...
I wonder if this is a side effect of the new return policy.
If they used to return a number of sets that didn't grade 70 (minus what they'd want for inventory), they could be classified as an abuser. (I'm not sure what the Mint would do, but it would probably hurt to lose bulk purchase status.) So rather than returning sets, just slab 'em up and sell them that way...

To many returns I think it goes by a percentage they drop you I think make it so you cant purchase. But I would contact the Mint to get the exact process but they might be busy these next few days.

No, Just going for another segment of the market for people who want slabbed coins for a cheaper price without a commitment to grade and a way for MCM to move sets that are not 70's at a cheaper cost
I ordered three sets for me and the grand kids.

does anyone have an order number estimate recently after 3-4 hours
Just ordered two sets 30 minutes ago,,,,,, order #5900XXX
So rough guess 30,000 orders, maybe 3-5 sets average each, maybe 90,000 -150,000 sold.
That's my take also. BTW, just received an email from the Mint, indicating "the wait is over," set is now available for sale. Most likely emailed to all US Mint customers on record. We should see a further up tick as the day moves on.
"Bongo drive 1984 Lincoln that looks like old coin dug from ground."
You got it BigDaddyz. 33,000 aprox order numbers. Using the estimate average 5 per order (I only got 1) =165,000
Lets see what first day sales are reported.

That applies to all Mint orders placed...not everyone ordered this set and if past order history is a guide, approx 70% of the orders were for the rev. proof set....my guess...25k to 27k so far.
"Bongo drive 1984 Lincoln that looks like old coin dug from ground."
I went back and looked at the EU set order numbers from last year. They started (on August 1st) at 5200000. We started today at about 5870900 which means they took a total of about 670,000 orders in 12 months. That's 50,000 orders per month or around 2,000 per day. So, I stand corrected, the majority of the 30,000 orders today should be these sets. That should put sales at 90 to 150,000 sets. If it's at 90,000, this set could be in trouble. If it's at 150,000 sets, it has a chance.
Going to be hard to quick flip if they don't sell out before the big guys get them. If we end up with 100,000 in the wholesale market when bulk sales open up, you are going to be trying to flip them retail against Apmex or MCM at $65 each and your short term upside is capped.
Are they still Open for taking orders today or have they closed for the day? I imagine they will drop their limits and let every Tom Dick and Harry tomorrow buy buy buy! Was it not Sarah that said " Buy Baby Buy "?

I just got a call from MCM that I missed! I wonder if they want to use me as a surrogates to buy their bidding? That way they got more sets under their name for selling.

Well I would call them back to be sure. Maybe they are offering you a really good deal on NGC gems. LOL.
This only reverse Lincoln cent minted is less than half the mintage of a 1909-S VDB, even if it sells out, and it is a S mint.Nice PR70's should be worth a good price in PCGS holders. Older proofs had super low mintages but really don't matter to most collectors.
Would love to place an order, but when it gets to step 4, Confirm Order, everything is grayed out and it stays that way for well over an hour. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the website is just not working for me.

Hopefully this will be the norm with the limited editions, HHL's, first day of sales.
Works much better for the 'Regular Guys' that want one for their 'Collection'

Ritchie, See if Betty can do it, as I doubt Veronica could deal with the stress.
Try clicking the little box that says agree to the fine print in that page. I did not see that for quite a while and it messed me up.
Also make sure you do not have ad block on.
Good luck
When I go to the little box that says agree to the fine print, the cursor is rotating and doesn't stop, so I can't click on it. When I say it doesn't stop rotating, it keeps rotating for at least an hour. It's a real stumbling block, and there is no apparent solution. Even logging out and signing back on doesn't fix the problem.

This has happened to me if Windows does an update that the computer was not restarted so things are "hanging up". Try restarting or shutting off your computer and turning it on.
Also sometimes clearing the Internet browsing history helps. Go to top right 3 dots, click, go to settings, then clear browser history. Note you will have to relog in to the Mint site.

Thanks for the help, but even shutting the computer down and restarting it doesn't work. Will try another computer.

Well, tomorrow bulk buyers get what they want. What's the current bulk discount? 10%? 15%?
So they won't lose money on the sales at such a price, they just won't make a lot...
Ditto on both my orders.
I assume they'll ship tomorrow. If they ship today, I might get them by Friday. (Not holding my breath...)

Thank you BigA for that update.
I'm now seeing the pre-sale NGC Gem sets from MCM @ $119.95.
I knew it would happen.
gem
an even worse grade than 69

I bet they sold about 60k sets today....which would be pretty good with the HH limit of 10......but then again maybe they sold 50 or 190,000.
Don't quote me on that.

you can look at it this way, the less sets available tomorrow, the better. you don't want one dealer getting 50,000 sets

Go for at least 1 Gluggo. You can do it. Online ordering is still open.
I'm tempted to order another 10. They're suckering me in again.... LOL
Of course, I'm all but out of EU sets. Maybe I'll wait until tomorrow and buy 1000 reverse proof sets.
Go for 10, Gluggo. If you can sell this sucker out, mine will be worth more.
