And in case anyone is interested, the normal Silver Proof set has been on sale 13 weeks, and sold 198K.

So I'm sure this will sell out all 200K. I'm just wondering how long it will take. Certainly less than 13 weeks... :)

Last years 225th Anniversary Enhanced Uncirculated Coin Set selling from the Mint Sold Out @ $ 29.95

Get ready Get ready available on Ebay ALL DAY LONG @ $ 34.00

Be careful that was 225,000 made this is almost at 200,000 whats the difference 25K less. But this is rarer right? I know I know this is apples to oranges I am just saying!

I understand that those are order ID's, but why are people censoring them / do they have any significance? Early mintage?

Figure average of maybe 5 sets...long way to go.

Wait till the Big Boys come in tomorrow give it 2 weeks then the returns another week maybe 3 days how do I know?

  • coinpalicecoinpalice Posts: 2,451 ✭✭✭✭✭

I don't think it's as easy to return sets now, the mint has new rules

Big boys can buy at a discount tomorrow. They will probably sell it out. BUT, the real question is how long it takes the distribution to sort itself out.

I'm skeptical about this set holding the $55 value long term. But I would be willing to bet it sells out by noon tomorrow.

True, but the Mint has the same problem we eBay sellers have: it's really easy to file a CC chargeback claiming some kind of "damage". And, of course, you recall all the EU sets returned for the imaginary oil spot on the packaging.

  • jmlanzafjmlanzaf Posts: 33,469 ✭✭✭✭✭

Again, it's not scientific, but you notice the order numbers have stopped being posted. You'll recall what the stream of order numbers looked like for a hot early sell-out.

If they are true to recent practice shipping should start tomorrow.

I bet these have "oil" spots too... :)

    Don't quote me on that.

Apmex has them now for $65. FYI.

And if they don't people can always just tear the box and claim it arrived that way.

if they pack these sets the same way they packed the EU sets, there will be some damaged boxes

10 new reverse coins and dies, figure there might be a small chance for an error coin in the mix.

The last reverse proofs I bought ended up with milk spots all over them.
Lost way too much on that fiasco to gamble again.
    Count me out.

It was limited to 10 across all sales channels, including bulk.

You can buy as many as you want tomorrow.

It's not a loss leader at that number, especially if they get their supply at the discount from a bulk purchaser.

    Even for me, if I sold a set at $65 with free shipping: $65 - $5.78 eBay/PayPal - $2.66 shipping = $56.56

And Apmex or MCM get preferred rates from eBay, possibly PayPal, anad probably their shipper as well.

I am currious when the full graded 70's go on sale and how much? $299.99 a set or $350.00 a set? You know the fancy labels I will tape the lastest coin show on HSN I am guessing our friend will be selling them for $699.99 a set.
