@ZoidMeister... Nice mixture of coins... I have encountered that type of mix in the past... Nothing recently though. By the way, the Canadian quarter depicts a Caribou, not a Moose. Cheers, RickO

I walked by the local Coinstar machine this morning and saw a bright penny and a dime.
I picked them up, the penny was a recent zinc coin and the dime looked funny. It was a 1952-D dime.
Today at the Nobhill in Gilroy CA this morning I found the following:
5 silver dimes, making 9 for this month including the 1887-S. Also as shown on the plate, 10 quarters, 53 non-silver dimes, 16 nickels, 12 Lincoln cents and one FR! It took 4 scoops of the hand to get this all. BTW, this is my birthday month.!
Visited 4 kiosks for the first time the other day. Nothing found. You all seem to find something interesting now and then but what I don't understand is how anyone using these kiosks miss the fact that there is change down in that very noticable large opening.
@Tramp... I agree... However, with the frequency we find change there, from one or two pieces, to huge amounts, it becomes obvious that many do not realize it is there. Cheers, RickO
@Tramp
true, one would believe so, but some just don't care, could be lazy young people cashing in grandpa's jar? Also, maybe area/region depended, hard to say why...
Just like fishing, sometimes they hit, sometimes you come up empty, you just got to keep trying.
Stopped by the Shop Rite to get our free spiral ham, Coinstar kiosk is in the breezeway. Mostly Chinese coins and 2 zincolns. Ya nevah know. Ham's gonna be great cause my wife's making potato salad. Peace Roy
The Coinstar reject bins have been empty the last couple of weeks... I have found change on the floor of the market, the floor of the drugstore, and the parking lot.... No silver, just modern change. Cheers, RickO

I have considerably more empty slots, then ones having coins left in them. But it sure is fun when you spot some treasure waiting for you.
Yesterday I asked the guy dumping his coins into the COINSTAR at my local Kroger if he had change for a dollar...
Seriously, I bought all but the war nickel on my way in and the war nickel was in the bin on my way out. A great start for the month.

Staring April with a 64P dime. Riding a hot streak!!
Stopped at Kroger today to pickup a 15 pack of Keystone beer for my nephew.
I did my usual inspection of the coinstar. I scooped out a dime and a Canadian nickel. I immediately noticed that the dime was silver.
After fighting my way through the mad hordes of Easter weekend shoppers, and leaving the store, I inspected the dime.
It was a 1957 Rosie. The Canadian coin was a 1981.
Checked Kroger and Publix this week. No luck. The hunt continues,
Still no silver.
$1.12 of ordinary pocket change in the local CoinStar yesterday.

The 1964 D Kennedy by itself.
Went to my local Publix for a takeout meal and nabbed this discount:
No silver, but worth raking out.
I checked the Coinstar at my Publix this morning and was rewarded with a clad Canadian quarter. Oh well.
@MarkKelley ... That is a nice Coinstar haul.. Is that a silver dime at the bottom?? Cheers, RickO
Regrettably, no silver this time.
Well yesterday was a good day at the Coinstar. A silver quarter - 1961D and a silver dime - 1956D.... and a memorial cent. Two nice silvers.... YIPPEE!! Cheers, RickO
