. @dcarr , is it my eyes or your picture that looks so red?
Will it be more like the color of gold?
The picture makes It look a little darker (and redder) than it actually is.
But, like a lot of the gold over-strikes I do on 900 fine coins, there is a very slight coppery color to them.
I think the cleaning process for the host coins results in a very slight over-abundance of copper at the surface (perhaps a few atoms deep).

Thanks Dan. I've noticed that as well. I wonder if there's a way to get a bit more gold color at the surface with a modified process?

Picked up my package today from the PO. Not disappointed at all! The cobs are especially cool and will have to add some more.

Noticed that as well - price of bullion is slowly creeping up.

You missed the 2018 medals, but we'll probably do medals in 2019.
In the meantime: there were some extra 2018s available, but they may already be spoken for (I'm not sure). Either way, you'll have opportunities for future medals.

Bonus points if the Brits are annoyed!
Seriously though, I doubt the British Royal Mint takes issue with Dan's medals. If you look closely, there are lots of small differences compared with British coins -- not the least of which is Dan's use of Benetto Pistrucci's original 1817 "broken spear", which has never been used on a silver coin.
And of course, the medal's biggest difference is its Reverse side.
Anyway, I'm guessing a far bigger problem for the BRM is stuff from China.

Yes, the "broken spear" St-George-and-the-Dragon design appears on the 2017 British Gold Sovereign Proof coins. It commemorates the 200th anniversary of that design's first use on a gold coin.
First use of St-George-and-the-Dragon on a silver coin was the 1818 British Crown. But, for that coin, the design was changed to the now-classic "unbroken sword".
According to my research, the "broken spear" has never appeared on any British silver coin. But I don't know how to conclusively prove that claim. Anyway, I can understand why Dan didn't imprint "200th Anniversary" or a dual-date 1818-2018 on any of the 2018 KOTCT medals: They're intended as medals. The commemorative aspect is a lucky coincidence; Dan proposed the design before the 200th Anniversary was first mentioned in a KOTCT post.
Note that, in 2017, the "broken spear" ONLY appeared on the Proof gold coins. Ordinary 2017 gold bullion Sovereigns kept the classic "unbroken sword" design.
Edit: To fix links

@COCollector when you say there has never been a broken spear on any British silver coin, I have a 1887 Queen Victoria British Silver "Jubilee Head" Crown with a broken spear. Wouldn’t that be an example? Granted I came in late on the discussion and didn’t read everything.

IF you want one for your D Carr hoard, then yes. Only you know how strongly the Stella spell compels you.
There's a good chance that DC's 'Coiled Stella' may out-number the original if this enthusiasm continues. I urge y'all to curb your enthusiasm.
That would be hard to do .One of my favorites since I discovered DC
