I missed my mail carrier today, so I have to go pick up my package tomorrow. I feel like Carly Simon's "Anticipation" is playing in the background while I'm watching a Heinz Ketchup commercial.
The coins look very, very nice. Hard to wait!!!

Arrived today and already self slabbed
Funny thing I ordered the Stella on 12/29 and the slab on 1/3, the slab arrived from China on 1/24.
Love the self-slab. Have you thought of making a copy so the front side takes up the full space of the insert?
I make a copy of the original insert, then I cut the copy for the slab.

I hope someone here picked up this awesome set of medals! By the time I saw it, it was Out of Stock already! I think I need one of those website monitoring services!
Just opened my two Stella’s and one 1919 Peace Dollar - wow !! The 1919 looks perfect, one Stella has great detail/Strike plus obvious ghosting and the other is just awesome- looks like it was made on a new planchet. (Pics are all the same Stella with different lighting )

received my 1919 peace dollars they are so cool ! I am sure there are so many people out there that dont know what their missing just dont know how they will find out?

Personally I prefer my overstrikes with no host showing, hopefully that's how mine arrive.
It’s hard to have nothing show if you use different over and under types. This is why Dan chooses Peace dollars for Peace dollars, Morgans for Morgans, etc.
He did do a private Stella striking that only had “Four” as the denomination, no units.

Finally got a chance to photograph my Stellas. Amazing how different they are.
Over the run of 77 pieces, the production process evolved. I was attempting to minimize the appearance of the under-type (without melting them). Some were lightly broad-struck one or more times after the main over-strike. Doing so helped reduce the under-type artifacts. The first coin pictured was over-struck multiple times in succession, but all strikes were in collar. The second coin shown is an example of one that was lightly broad-struck out of collar after the main over-strikes. So the diameter of the second coin is slightly larger and it has some apparent doubling on some of the denticles.
Received my Stella today and there are multiple artifacts from the host piece. Unfortunately I prefer Dan's overstrikes with minimal to no traces of the host coin.

The Stella will always show some artifacts because the over-strike design is completely different than the host design.
But I think the piece explains itself well with the reverse legend "STRUCK ON A US ... $5 HALF EAGLE". As such, I think a person closely examining it would EXPECT to see some artifacts.
Anyway, if you don't like it you can certainly send it back for a refund. Or maybe sell it at a profit. I haven't seen any offered on eBay yet, so I don't know what one might got for there.
I think the Stella's could not have been done better....they are perfect!!

I even made a wallpaper to include them
They are slightly oversized but I'm okay with that.

I guess I'm gonna be last to get my Stella and Peace. :-( The good news is that Dan will have perfected his Stella overstrike technique by the time he gets to mine. ;-)

Here are my latest Dan Carr KOTCT fresh from the Slab Factory
The hit on the Silver Coin is a nick on the plastic where I dropped the slab.
Send it back for a free reholder with your next submission. What the TPGS have done for Joe and his fire coins may start something. On the other hand, it may not - plastic costs money.
I remember selling that New York state quarter drawing in 2001 or so. It was a "working drawing" where I was trying out different elements and arrangements. Someone put together that display by combining the drawing with other NY state quarter items.

Love it !like the old days when he would list something low mintage early bird gets the worm
The host coin appears to be dated 1901.

Here's mine:
That is one of the least ghosting I've seen. Plus bonus... a see some rainbow toning!!! You hit a home run. Gorgeous.
Did I miss something? Why does it only say "100 Cents"?
I knew it would happen.
You missed the plus 4 dollars below it, all totaled equals 5 bones.
lol, I see.....
I knew it would happen.
What was the host coin?
A five dollar half eagle.
Someone's going for a near 100% return on Ms. Stella. I'm betting it won't sell.
You may be surprised. I listed mine for $980 last night just to see what would happen and it sold before morning
I guess the new seller is leaving money on the table then. That's awesome. Congrats.
Wow, nicely done!!
I just hope the buyer didn't think they were buying a real Stella
Hey, coiled hair stellas for everyone! Some have spares to flip. What a boon to collectors

After revisiting this and seeing more of the coins I have to agree with you. I'm loving it.
Yikes!!
Has Daniel shipped it yet?

I just received a heavy (unsolicited) box in the mail with auction catalogs for some upcoming late-February & early-March Stacks-Bowers auctions.
I was surprised to see this "Carr" item as one of the lots in the Quarter Dollars section (session 8 March 1st):
