All I can say is that Dan did a fantastic job on the 2018 KOTCT Medals. I got some quick shots of some 1 oz pieces. I love the antiqued piece and the others aren't shabby.
Next come the 2 oz Cobs and I've got to have a few drinks before I tackle those.
They are some of the coolest pieces I've seen from Dan.
Ok. Maybe a senior moment. Where the heck do I find these for sale on the KOTCT forum? Merlin sez they are there... (nice post BS)

Just got back from a New Year's brunch party at my neighbor's house. I spotted this magnet on their fridge. I thought it was appropriate after this morning's purchases.
The 'Stella overstrike' is on a $5 Liberty otherwise if it were on a real Stella it would cost us smoewhere between $75,000-$95,000 (Flowing Hair specimen). A slight show stopper.
The reverse has 100 CENTS + FOUR DOLLARS (= FIVE DOLLARS), covering all the bases.

This is my first Carr color-toned cob, so I'm wondering if this is a common feature. Or did I just get lucky?
Due to the extreme radial expansion of the 2-troy-oz cobs when struck, they have a very pronounced starburst ("cartwheel") effect. Silver often tends to tone in a splotchy (unattractive) manner. But due to the characteristics of these cobs (melting temperature, trace elements, surface contaminants, work-hardening from striking, etc.) the color toning really worked on them.

Dan, thanks for the explanation. Count me in for the next one... hopefully 2oz 50mm... love the size. Maybe 2.5oz?
I really like how the 2018 Knights of the Coin Table 50mm 3-troy-oz silver medals turned out. Also the 2-troy-oz color-toned cobs, of course.
I will definitely do more of the round 50mm 3-troy-oz silver format, possibly next as a extra-high-relief Winged Liberty Saint-Gaudens. The 2-troy-oz cob format will probably be utilized again also (not yet decided on what).

Doc Holliday: In Vino Veritas.

Johnny Ringo: Age Quod Agis.
[Do what you do. - Meaning - "Do what you do best."]
Doc Holliday: Credat Judaeus Apella, Non Ego. [The Jew Apella may believe it, not I. - Meaning -"Oh I don't believe drinking is what I do best."]

Don’t understand why Dan didn’t OS on actual Stellas, at +/- 300K each it would have kept the mintages really low .
Doesn't he know I am trying to cut back spending??? Had to pick up a couple stellas. WOW!
Usually buy a couple extras to sell and offset cost of my collection. These may be tough to part with....
