I'm sure no effort will be wasted on (illegally) duplicating legal tender 2021 Mint issues. The coinage laws are mostly in place for 2021 already so plenty of notice is given on what the Mint will be releasing, albeit will there be a Peace or a Morgan??

But if the Mint produces a 2021 Peace Dollar (original design) it may thwart a Broken Sword Peace Dollar unless an obvious design change is made?

The simple thing is to use a double date (1921-2021) if the Mint uses just 2021 and vice versa.

Of course it would be nice to use a Roman numeral date like the original Peace design.

These arrived today. I told you I went overboard. Unpacking and photos tomorrow. More to come next week I'm afraid, then there's the shipment from Moonlight Mint as well . . . .

    Help !

Not sure how much "cross platform" traffic there is, but I just realized that I forgot to post my most recent Can Carr arrivals here. So to rectify that omission, this is what arrived on Thursday . . . . . . .

    Starting out with the smallest.

2014 Clark Gruber Liberty Head / Eagle Fractional Silver - mintage 84

It's hard to capture it, but his little gal is starting to tone really nicely, upper edge, from around 9 to 1 o'clock.

Yes -- the Centennial 2 Oz Peace, COC. But maybe less verbiage and more artistry. Maybe similar to the 2012 Concept Currency pieces with a holographic outer ring. There is a couple currently posted on eBay. I don't have one or I'd post a pic.

Then I received a trio of Copper UNA's. Dan's designs of these and the USNA Trade Dollars are really growing on me . . . . . .

    2009 UNA 20 Amero - Liberty Winged Horse - mintage 328

    2010 UNA 1 Amero - Native American / Puma - mintage 629

And in my opinions, the most beautiful (gotta love those 2014 Open House items with this design).

    2011 UNA 1 Amero - Capped Liberty - mintage 379

The copper on this piece is really starting to tone nicely. Not your typical red-brown copper toning, but a really pretty orange-red color.

Woo-hoo! Got my order yesterday. Quick cell phone photo...

Interestingly, the Cents -- with their 88% copper and 12% nickel composition -- have just a subtle trace of copper color.

Hopefully Dan can produce some authentic-looking circulated versions.

Or maybe in a few years these Cents will tone naturally?

These are my earliest pieces directly from Dan. They are after Dan got his website up but before the Grabener restoration in 2008. I think I purchased these in 2006 from Dan.

I've never seen many of these offered on the secondary market. Here's some of the rarer ones:

    • 2001-D Apollo Astronaut - 1/4 oz Silver - 9 minted
    • 2006 Colorado - 10th Mountain Division - Prototype Quarter - Silver - 15 minted
    • 2003 Maine - Pemaquid Point Light & Victory Chimes Schooner- Silver - 20 minted
    • 2006-D US Denver Mint 100th Anniversary Centennial Token -Silver Satin - 50 minted

According to the Production Blogs, it looks like Dan has already done circulated versions for all the latest products, like this...

I was worried these circulated versions might sell-out if first available at this week's Denver Coin Expo. No worries, they're available now on his updated website.

Circulated versions often sell-out quickly I expect because fewer are usually produced.

I'm guessing new orders won't ship for awhile... Dan will be at the Denver Coin Expo Oct 1-3... tables 602 & 604 if the Dealer List is correct.

Hey felinfoel, look at the signature on the backside of your slabs.

IIRC, prior to 2016, Dan actually hand-signed every ANACS label. Like this...

Whereas, later slabs use the same photo-reproduced signature...

Is a slab with the hand-signed signature worth more? Maybe -- for the right collector.

For instance, I believe some folks put a premium on coins in the old PCGS "rattler" holder (although that may have something to do with arguably tighter grading standards long ago).

I agree an actual SIGNATURE would be more valuable, how would this actually occur during grading? Would the piece be graded and sent back to DC for signature, then sent back for slabbing? Or slab certs be pre-signed in advance of certifying/assigning serial numbers? Just curious...

Akbeez, I believe the ANACS reverse slab certs are separate from the front certs. So I expect the certs were pre-signed. Maybe Dan will chime in and confirm (although I expect he's very occupied right now with the Denver Coin Expo Oct 1-3).

And IIRC, years ago Dan hand-signed the certificates you got with each purchase...

Nowadays, I think the best chance of getting a hand-signed cert is if you meet Dan at a Show or at an MM Open House event.

Thanks for the Halloween reminder. Great pieces @Bullsitter and @felinfoel!

Mine's below. I still need to get the satin and prooflike!

This was struck for Chris M. Geiner of CMG Mint:

CMG MINT was founded in 2012 by Chris Geiner who is a third-generation coin collector. Being fascinated by art on Vintage art bars and rounds led to him seeking to have his own line and to bring back the lost hobby. 5 years and over 70 designs and collaborations later, he is still being creative with original works of art on silver.
