<< <i>I was on the fence with this one. I ordered one, went as far as the credit card page and stopped. I did smoe other work. I came back here and saw the Coin World link with 30k sales in 75 minutes. I went back to the Mint page and ordered..."currently not available." I was sad. Not really but it was interesting how smoething that I didn't really care too much about was all of a sudden a must-have. Human nature is funny.
I wonder how I will (re)act tomorrow morning. >>
They could probably include a chapter in every psychology book on the collecting mentality and probably do. I did the same thing except pulled the trigger before the cutoff. Tomorrow is a new day. Enjoy it. Or if you still want one they may be available then.
Gold and silver are valuable but wisdom is priceless.
I just placed an order for one. My US# credit card only has a $3k limit, so with shipping that was a bit over that amount. Or else I'd have picked up 2.
Even better. UPS has the package, and is scheduled for Delivery Monday. If the timing is right, UPS delivers from Memphis overnight. Would be nice/amazed to get it tomorrow.
<< <i>just checked my tracking number. Live in system at UPS already. Estimated delivery is Monday.

Yes. I may get the coin before it clears my credit card.
PFSWeb had a few of problems early while on their learning curve of how people buy from the mint, but I think they've worked it out. They have withstood the worst collectors and dealers could throw at them, and survived with no widespread problems on first day sales days.
<< <i>Decided to pull the trigger on two as well. What the hell, right? >>
Ditto. That makes a total of three for me. I placed an order just as sales began. I figured I can sit back and watch the show after my one coin arrives.

I did mine budget shipping. I do know some ppl that did overnight - expedited shipping who have tracking numbers that are scheduled to be delivered today.
I bought one at the get go for my collection but decided to stay out of the flip on this one. To much big money in on the big order equals a flood down the road. Not sure if I would hold to many over a week if you plan on flipping.

You might see a flood after the big Dealers pic thru the shipments for the 70's, I am sure.

The U.S Mint has provided an update on yesterday’s frenzied launch of the 2015 American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin.
News spread fast yesterday after the mint’s standing inventory of around 35,000 American Liberty coins–each priced at $1,490.00–was exhausted after just a few hours. Now the mint confirms that first day sales of the release totaled 36,686 units.
The West Point Mint will continue working to produce enough coins to complete the 50,000-piece mintage.
Back orders are currently being accepted. A mock attempt to order the coin on the mint’s Web site shows that the new batch is expected to become available on October 1

The coin shipped.
Tracking number and everything!
<< <i>Hmmm... don't know if anyone else speculated on this, but wouldn't be surprised if they now came back with a lower limit. >>
With <15k remaining I would think the limit would be lowered when they go back on sale. The Mint might surprise us too.

Didn't they remove the limit on the second day of the MoD special set sales?
Don't know what the mint will do. There's still 13K of these left...
Edited because I can't subtract 37K from 50K correctly...
That's our Mint. Backordered but estimated in stock today ??????????
A year ago this was unimaginable from the mint and it's fulfillment company at that time.
No brainer on the Backorders. Either they are worth more than cost in Sept. or cancel.

Very well done.
My credit card cutoff was the 28th. Will not get the bill for 30 days then 20 more to pay it.

Absolutely!
I don't expect the Oct 1 coins to take nearly that long.
I to think that they will take long enough to see where these are going.
Fun to watch the whole thing.

Mint didn't send it out in time to get overnight from Memphis, but it's scheduled to be here Monday.
It *is* possible for someone to have gotten it today via normal UPS ground, but he'd have to live within a couple hundred miles of Memphis.
BTW, my order number was USM0340825x. Probably one of the first.
