acknowledged, but I don't see sales continuing at the first few minutes' rate & couple that with the hiccups the site experienced on the 12 minute sell out, which were not experienced today, means I think this one sells out in a couple or a few days.
And I am excluding the returns-resell when calling the final sell out. We know that drags a true sell out for days and days.
Also, donot forget they likely have a fraction pre-struck. So, these will likely go on BackOrder first. But, if they do go on "not available"... they may flip it to BO the next day. If not flipped to BO in a couple or few days, that may be the sell out sign.
<< <i>IMHO, it's STILL one ounce of gold, regardless of collector appeal and mintage size. Gold spot can easily go to 1500 and up when the riggers (JP Morgue, et al) let the physical price go. The paper PM market is on its death bed and tremendous pressure is building on the physical side.
The way I look at it, it can be a winner as a great collectible and/or a relatively cheap bullion price.
Will be buying one today... >>
Sounds like you've been "brainwashed" by online PM conspiracy b.s. I'll be buying one, but not for your stated reasons. >>
So you summarily discount my opinion with an insult. I've been a member on this board for years and I'll add you to the elitist list of know-it-alls. >>
Not after you insulted those of us, who do not subscribe to your personal feelings, which btw as I stated, is nothing but online bs and not based on any proven actual facts.

One difference though. UHR was classic design. Not saying this would be uninteresting though. I think it is going to depend on how stunning it looks in hand.

That would be nice. I believe we have shown about 9000 orders since going on sale. Assuming that most are for this coin and many are multiple coin orders I doubt it will be under 10k. I would be happy with half of the authorization.

UPDATE FROM THE U.S. MINT: The Mint's website indicates the coin is "currently unavailable." Adam Stump, deputy director of the Mint's Office of Corporate Communications, said via email at 3:47 p.m. Eastern Time July 30 that, "We are not sold out. We have taken orders for more than 35,000 coins and the website should be updated at some point in the next day that the item will be on backorder."

It is a pretty big pill to swallow. Don't worry the mint will have something else soon enough and you won't be fearing the next credit card bill as much.
Gold and silver are valuable but wisdom is priceless.
<< <i>So who is going to be buying all this $1500 oz. gold in the secondary market? >>
Who buys any expensive coin in the secondary market? I'm guessing collectors, investors, and people that appreciate an attractive coin that actually has a full ounce of pure gold. This coin will always be worth at least melt value so the downside risk is limited unlike many investments.

The last thing I'm worried about is my cc bill, ha! Was waiting to see if this was a win and missed my last 30 min window check. Was going to buy with martini in hand and ready to light a cuban.

I guess a noon coin release is a bit early for martinis.

I was on the fence with this one. I ordered one, went as far as the credit card page and stopped. I did smoe other work. I came back here and saw the Coin World link with 30k sales in 75 minutes. I went back to the Mint page and ordered..."currently not available." I was sad. Not really but it was interesting how smoething that I didn't really care too much about was all of a sudden a must-have. Human nature is funny.

will there be a PL/DMPL on these ????

Almost 10,000 orders in the first hour. Slowing a bit, but still looks pretty strong to me.

Even when they were released in qty of 10 per person at the ANA show they were gobbled up at a premium pretty fast.

I mean it was on sale for a long time, sold very slowly after the initial burst yet has done very well.
UHR on sale nearly one year...
Maybe an under 10,000 mintage.

Exactly. Initial burst of sales, very slow by end of year, nearly a year to buy yet has done very well.
