I've collected the Washington Quarter set since childhood and still have the Blue Harris folders. Back then, (in 1967) as a Milwaukee Journal paperboy, I remember the switchover to clads, because silver was disappearing. The coin magazine of the day ran an article called the "Eminently Collectable Clads". Clads got no respect in those days. I had a great collection of silver quarters from the 30's to 62, but -- alas, I had a kid brother who stole them and spent them on candy! None survived.

I recently submitted some MS (1935 S, 1969 P, 1969 P and 1983 P) Washington Quarters and some Proof and SMS Washington Quarters (1939, 1940, 1942 and 1950-1970) to our host for grading and True View.
True Views of some of these coins will be posted when available.
It will be fun to participate in this thread (this thread has major eye candy for Washington quarter fans).
I recently picked up this proof.
It's a minor upgrade to my set.
I usually like my Washington proofs to be completely free of toning but I thought this one was acceptable.

Acceptable? It's beautiful!
First, congratulations on the successful reconsideration.
That's a really big deal.
Second, 'acceptable' was a poor choice of words on my part.
Thanks for the compliment.

It's official now. Item number 1146589 at GC should list no later than Monday. I was sad when I put it in the shipping box. It is now PCGS MS67 and CAC approved.
It's been a bit since I've added to the set, but with these two new additions I've now hit the 50% completion milestone! All of my examples are double-sided toners, and most are 66's.
Picked up my first of the two ‘32 branch mint coins, this San Francisco example. I am happy to have found a dual-sided toner (my set theme) squarely within my budget for this date. It has good eye appeal for the grade IMO.

Scooped this 1935-S example last weekend. Paid a premium for the color, but seemed like a tougher year/mm to find with attractive toning on both sides. The TrueView makes the obverse look slightly struck off-center, but it isn't.
This coin moved me from 26th to 24th in the Basic WQ set. A few more upgrades and I will be in the top 20.
Nice upgrade! Is your set 100% complete? I’m still trying to crack
the top 100 (56% complete currently). Really pleased with how it’s coming together so far though.

Yes it is complete, but I have some holes filled with lower graded varieties. Just have not found the right coin to replace the variety. For example this set had a 1950 DDR MS-65 so when I upgraded to the MS-67 it moved me up two spots.
Well here is one for the registry set. 1963-P FS101 DDO in MS-66. I lost out on the GC auction this weekend and this one was on eBay for the same price.
I also had a second 1969P quarter graded and it also came back MS66 (see photo below). I am very pleased with the grades on all three of these MS quarters.

I love to see the classic Washington Quarter in its purest form. We need to call them Flanagan Quarters from now on!

Love the series, not sure why I don’t have more. I bought this a couple of years ago from a former forum member.

I finally picked up an MS66, 1955 D recently at a small show.
This has proven to be be harder to find than I ever expected.
In Coinfacts, @wondercoin has an excellent and interesting supplemental write-up on this particular date and mm.

Ironically, PCGS is reconsidering my 55D MS66+ now. I sent to CAC a few weeks ago and they gave it a Gold sticker. Wish me luck. I will post a picture
@KaleidoscopeQuarters Good luck on the reconsideration. I'm rooting for you.
67 is rarefied air for those.

Found out Friday that PCGS gave it a 67. Very happy now. Population 7 now.

Rocksmith that 22-P George has a pissed off look on him. Feds must have bustted his Still!!!

Attached is a photo of a toned 1941 Proof Quarter that I had graded last year.
It graded PF66+
Let me know if it needs a new home!
Are you going to keep it? It's very nice!
I love how the toning plays on the upper and lower portion of the fields of the quarter. Nice!

The 1941 proof quarter I posted a photo of is in "Strong Hands" and will be tucked away for a while.
Pics are terrible, it’s a really pretty coin with plum and russet toning.
I'm BACK!!! Used to be Billet7 on the old forum.
I have seen this coin in hand and the photo does not do it justice. The half dollar that was in that set was the jewel of that set.

That 55D should go for big bucks! Congrats on the grade and good luck with the auction!
I have several 55-D Quarters. One is real nice, plan on sending it in for grading soon.

I like the reverse and love the obverse.

Was the article really just that seven-sentence blurb? If so, it was nothing.

Agreed, underwhelming. Was nice there was something of interest in the media though.

That's really unusual color for most any year save perhaps 1955-1956. How do you think it was stored?

No idea, but that’s a sharp observation—it does share similarities in color and gradient pattern to my ‘56

As soon as a Trueview posts, I will post a picture of a 1958D MS66+ Mint Set Toner with blazing luster.
Attached are photos of recently graded MS, Proof and SMS Washington Quarters.
What grades did they give you on the modern MS coins?
Both MS coins graded out MS66.
I also had a second 1969P quarter graded and it also came back MS66 (see photo below). I am very pleased with the grades on all three of these MS quarters.
That 1950 proof looks really nice, much nicer than a 66. They all look really nice.

I am waiting for a bunch of TrueViews from coins I’ve acquired and just had reholdered into Gold Shields. Looking forward to sharing them.

My personal grade for the quarter was MS66. I was very close.
