That is for orders less than $300.00. The mint is actually having these 17 cent bags packed in a box and shipped via UPS 2nd Day Air for orders shipped as expedited. And don't forget, If you should have a reason to return your item(s) and the remaining items are worth less than $75.00, they'll probably insist that you ship the free bag back to them as well.

Just received notification that my order (placed at 1203) shipped! Of course, upon further review, I discovered that they indeed only shipped the bag. The bag is shipped separately? Its a $2500 order placed three minutes after the opening bell, and they find it necessary to separate the order and rush me the stupid promotional bag? And we wonder why this government has us trillions in debt.

I thought that the bags were just part of the order that came with it. Glad that 10 of 11 of my orders were delayed long enough for me to cancel those stupid bags as I sure don't want 11 bags at $4.95 a bag. One bag wont take up much space in my rubbish bin this week. Six of my orders have been moved up from June deliveries to 4/16 and these are all single gold proof orders.
I also had two bags shipped by themselves. One FedEx Smart post and the one on the order which will have upgraded shipping went UPS 2nd Day Air. With all the time spent shipping the bags they could have shipped thousands of coin orders. That is what happens when you use a seperate fullfillment company. Their first priority is creating more billable work for themselves.

I don't mind the multiple mint bags. I reuse the mint shipping boxes also for shipping. These shipping boxes alone probably cost at least .50 to a $1.00 each if I bought them myself.

My WAG from looking at the order number thread. There are some three groups of ship dates; early to mid-April, late May to mid-June, and mid-July.
If your order is shipping in April, you were early enough in line to get the coins already stamped out by the mint. Since there was a 50K combined total of MS and PF, they probably only stamped out the first 10K to 15K (a guess) of each?
If your gold is backordered until May/June, I think there's a pretty good chance you'll get the coin, they just have to press 'em, print the COA's, etc. Assuming (there's that word) the June orders fulfill the 50K allowed, they'll know soon after how many credit cards have been denied, how many cancels and how many returns. (You only have a week to return.)
So if you have a July date, you're probably on the waiting list. You just don't know where on the waiting list. If people would updated their order number and time with backorder dates, you might be able to extrapolate a better idea of when they ran out of pre-made coins, when they sold out, and where you are on the waiting list.
Monday's total sold was just over 59K, so I assume there are 9K on the waiting list, which might seem like a lot until you look at the past two ASE set cancellations.
Of course, we are talking about the government here, which could deny any sort of rational logic, so take this post with a grain of salt...

Check your card again. Charged $4.95 shipping? Or the full amount? $4.95 is the shipping for the whole order. You will not incure any more shipping charges even if they send each item in its own separate box. Yes, if your CC was charged the whole order amount, not just a pending charge but an actual transaction, then you can anticipate shipping from the mint shortly. If not today, tomorrow. The mint charges the CC as the last thing before actual transfer to the shipping dock and they won't dom it any sooner then this. Imagine the complaints if they charged your CC and then didn't ship for two weeks. They have learned from past practices and won't go through it again. My CC has a "Pending" charge from the mint for the full amount. I don't count this as charge. I will not anticipate shipping until at the soonest Friday. If I check again and see the mint charges, full amount, in the "Recent Transactions" only then will I be looking for the mint to say my order has shipped. And I will then post here that my coins have shipped. Not before. I don't care thatb they have shipped the bag. Yes it would be better to include it with the coins in one box. The mint with it unfathomable thinking reasons otherwise and we are not going to change their twisted thinking here. Maybe they are locking us in with out the option of canceling. I think it's stupid, they don't. Stupid is as stupid does. All these post about my card has been charged aren't telling the full story. If they would say how much and if it is an actual completed transaction it would clearly indicate the true status of an order. Please?
<< <i>My card was charged yesterday, but when I go to my order and it shows the free bag was shipped UPS today and the coins are "in stock and reserved." Shouldn't coins ship once card is charged? >>

Of course, we are talking about the government here, which could deny any sort of rational logic, so take this post with a grain of salt... >>
I think you're off on your presumptions. I have a PR/UNC Gold order at 3:54 PM EST with a backorder date of 6/21 that is in process with cancel boxes gone. I expect this order to ship in the next week or so. I've never seen an order go "In process" like this and not ship within days. My experience is based on 14 years of ordering with the Mint. I'll report back if anything changes.

Both of my orders are before yours and I still have the cancel boxes on 1 of my 2 orders....

<< <i>My card was charged yesterday, but when I go to my order and it shows the free bag was shipped UPS today and the coins are "in stock and reserved." Shouldn't coins ship once card is charged? >>
Please?

Maybe the coins are not shipping with UPS. >>
Seems like such a waste to ship the bag separately with signature required no less if they're going to just charge my card at the same time?

Thanks for the info--my card was charged for the full amount~a bit over 1K plus $4.95 shipping, but it shows as a pending transaction, so I suppose I will have to wait till the transaction shows as completed before the coins will ship, correct?

They shipped my bag today is all, but my card was charged 2 different times. I ordered 23 gold coins. I also have other orders in stock but still on hold 5 min. apart.

All my orders were before that order (30 minutes before) and mine have not changed. Cancel boxes still there, still on hold
and gold is back ordered til 6/21, silver 4/16...
Nightmare for PCGS and you.
So just do them all the same and ship separately.
Makes sense to me.
