We have been on the road buying cards. I'm at the hotel and wanted to update this thread.
Friday night we met a collector at a gas station on I-65 who sold us all his Jordan inserts (300 of them). He sold me a Prince Fielder SP Authentic Rookie /135 and lots of other cool stuff that is packed up.
Next stop was in Lville,KY to buy a large Ripken insert lot of about (400) and hundreds of ten dollar newer autos/patch/jersey cards.
This morning in Dayton, OH bought lots of Mike Trout autos ( bowman chrome refractor and elite /100) and a few thousand dollars worth of cards.
One card purchased for this quest is a 1955 Topps Roberto Clemente Rookie. The card is VG/EX due to centering and corners. However, the surface is clean and is crease/stain free.
Paid 300.00 for the card and will upload a picture late tomorrow night or Monday. Also, will update totals and try to add a few more cards throughout the week.
Going to Sharonville,OH tomorrow.

Yes, I do not inject any more of my cash. I take the profits from the "flips" and use it to buy more cards.

On Friday night, we meet someone who had collected from 1995-2007 and had some great deals for us. The first lot was a Michael Jordan insert lot. We had between 300-400 cards all in screw downs. However, about 100 of the cards were just base cards.
We spilt up the Jordan insert lot and my part was $137.50(275.00 total). I flipped my part of the Jordan collection for $600.00 cash today at a card show. That is a + $462.50. I am going to subtract a tank of gas from this transaction and call it +400.00.

My partner on the trip had found a ebay auction that was poorly worded with hardly any feedback and contacted the seller and asked if he had other items for sale and we met him and it was a lucky break.
The others are all from the shows we just planned and stopped at the honey hole ebay person on the way up and the way back.

No refractors and the only numbered ones were out of 1000 from Upper Deck.
I went through them all the night at the hotel to make sure we didn't have any monsters. We had two that would bring a hundo each, probably 10-20 that would bring 20-30, 30 or so 10-20 and lots of five-ten dollar ones. The two best ones are the two on top of the stack in the picture.
It was a decent deal for the buyer of the lot. We just flipped it to make a profit.

I went through them all the night at the hotel to make sure we didn't have any monsters. We had two that would bring a hundo each, probably 10-20 that would bring 20-30, 30 or so 10-20 and lots of five-ten dollar ones. The two best ones are the two on top of the stack in the picture.
It was a decent deal for the buyer of the lot. We just flipped it to make a profit.
I sold the Trout Autograph, Andrew McCutchen rookie autograph and Starling Marte Gold refractor for $470.00 to a local collector tonight.
The Bryce Harper Bowman Chrome rookie autograph sold today via eBay for $235.21.
That is a total of $705.21 and deduct $25.21 for ebay/misc fees.
That is a profit of $180.00.
