Bear passed away Sunday surrounded by his family.
He was a wonderful person, with a great family.
I got to know he and his wife in the last year....very sad that this relationship ended way too early.
Thanks Laura for the info ...

Abe had a great eye and an even greater heart. He was always a pleasure to talk to and will be sorely missed.
...very sad.
May he rest in peace.
He was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Very sad News, indeed.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
My Prayers go out for the family.

I'll miss that wise old bear.

Will always remember his wit and charm.
Noticed that he missed roll call and was wondering why.
Now we know.
I really miss his Coin-a-lot stories.
RIP...Sir Bear!
He had a feel-good avatar
He was a great human being, kind, generous and always there for everyone!
He will be missed as I consider him like the loss of a family member.
We all knew this was coming as well as he did, but never ready for this moment.
He will be remembered for his vast knowledge of coin collecting
Kindness to others
Humor in good and bad days
And just a stand up great man.
Bless you Abe, RIP the pain is over
Stefanie
PS........Abe was so proud and had so much fun assembling his "Bears Legacy Collection"
He commented to me that when he is gone at least his collection will be around for people to see
Please take a look at his collection as it will be a permant thread on my website
A few last emails we had together, when I asked him how he was doing
1) "Well, they are trying a new Chemo and the last medication available
for my condition. I have taken one dose and I hope that today is a harbinger
of long term remission. While I am under active medical treatment I am also
getting palliative home care. Each week a nurse comes by to check on me and
to insure that my pain is fully controlled, as well as all medications are re ordered
as the doctor seeks to keep me pain free. Today, a special Kaiser attendant came
to our apartment and gave me a 20 minute hot shower. It really felt great. My attitude
has improved and I have regained a sense of hope and well being."
2) "I got the news today, all treatment has failed and I am going opn the hospice program. I guess
the only thing I leave behind of lasting value is your kind presentation of my Legacy Collection."

I too enjoyed his many contributions to the board. A Jelly donut in his honor.
God bless your family in these times of sorrow.
We'll miss you Bear ...

He sounded like a great person.
Bear was always a gentleman, and someone who added a light hearted persective here.
