    << <i>

<< <i>I have to say that "stated odds" and "actual odds" are two different things. I have opened thousands of packs over the past few years of Heritage (and regular Topps) at my local Wal Mart without a single auto. I just think that with a hobby case, you pretty much know what you are going to get if an auto is 1:288 packs. You are going to get one auto and sometimes two if you are lucky. With retail, I can buy 1,000 packs with no guarantee of an auto. Topps can put what they want on a retail wrapper, but I do not believe it to be accurate.

    Craig from Texas >>

but, I have seen plenty of guys open one blaster and pull an auto, or even better. I have opened more than 300 dollars in retail and have pulled NOTHING. Others, including
the guy who pulled the Mays, have done better than some who have opened multiple cases of hobby. >>

I opened one blaster box this year and got a Kasko auto....so it does happen.....not often but sometimes.....guess I was just lucky. I sold it for $20 and now I'm going to go buy another blaster box. The blaster was from a Target. al.

Despite all the money I have spent, and the fact that I haven't got anything worth scanning, I am keeping my positive attitude about this years product. Two more hobby boxes tomorrow.

Topps has decided to put out value boxes again in retail. They include topps packs and two hobby packs of heritage. So far in a small sampling they have pulled
a JFK stamp card and a Montero red ink. Could topps have put all the good hits into these boxes?

Hopefully I'll have my trade list up by the weekend. I did pull a Montero red auto #1/63 and a Mantle quarter redemption from my hobby case. My question is if anyone is willing to trade some 2012 chromes (#/1963) for older Heritage refractors. I have quite a few from 2004 and 2005 (and other years too). I'm just wondering before I dig them out and list them as trade bait.

Value boxes are out at walmart. 15 bucks gets you two hobby packs of heritage plus 5 packs of retail series 1 topps and one code card. These ran hot
last year and the bowman chrome boxes were just plain amazing. Who is going to try these, or do I need to visit the baby food isle and pick up a few?

    Waalt

I tried one. Got an SP in each Heritage pack. Got a code card plus a Mickey Mantle refractor. In my five packs, I got nothing but another code card.

Not too lucky for me but then again, I never get anything in retail! image

Opened 2 of my hobby boxes this eveing. Still have one left. Pulled an Adrian Gonzalez auto out of the second box. Getting closer to a set but I have a feeling I am going to need several of the short prints. Should get a trade/wantlist up once I open the other box.

That is probably my least favorite set of the 1960s. 1963, 1966 and 1967 I'm not a huge fan of.

I'm also not too keen on Topps Heritage either. I prefer the originals.

I'll be taking next year off... that I know for sure... not a fan at all of the '64 design. Besides '56 Topps, my next favorite design is probably '65, so I'll definitely back to build the set again in 2014!

Perhaps I'll use next year to actually get around to finishing my 2007 Heritage set.

Did you know that there are 474 different blue ink real autos from 2001-2012? It's a lot to collect and I am on my way thanks to some great traders here. image

I finally finished opening my boxes and I am very happy with my good Heritage fortune this season. I opened half a hobby case and 6 retail blasters (overall the equivalent of 8 hobby boxes, about average for me). For the first time since I started putting together Heritage sets (2005) I was able to complete the base set and three of the inserts (FB, FBN and T&N) just from the rips. Here are my season's best pulls:
