I've been working on an ad panel checklist; so far, I have the following, which I believe is complete:
(Note: first panel is NL Batting Leaders/Mauer/Red Sox, second is Mauer/Red Sox/Gregg, etc.)

    NL Batting Leaders/Mauer/Red Sox Smashers/Gregg/Bonifacio/Santana/Milone/Freeman/Cervelli/Arencibia
    Johnson/Pacheco/Leyland/Kershaw/NL ERA Leaders/DeFratus/Betemit/Freese/Pomerantz/Hendriks
    Kubel/Walden/Latos/Hellickson/Pennington/Collmenter/Benoit/Polanco/Eovaldi/Davis
    Tabata/Arroyo/Maybin/Kimbrel/Cassila/WS Game 1/Gonzalez/Rookies/Jay/Dodgers Big Three
    Molina/Abreu/Jennings/Craig/Jackson/DeWitt/Morales/Pineda/Lincecum/Nunez
    Mattingly/Marmol/NL HR Leaders/Lopez/Veteran Masters/Desmond/Guzman/Guerrero/Vargas/Shuck
    Pride of the NL/Soriano/Power Plus/Taylor/AL HR Leaders/Holliday/Hernandez/Roberts/Rookies/Hundley
    Hughes/AL Pitching Leaders/Federowicz/Washington/Lynn/Rookies/Parker/Rookies/Schierholtz/Tigers Twisters
    Ramirez/Rookies/Murphy/WS Game 2/Torrealba/Dempster/Rookies/Quentin/Gibson/Soria
    WS Foes/Moreland/WS Game 6/Thome/Rookies/Lidge/Rookies/Martinez/Hurdle/Constanza

It appears there are ten "strings"/whatever this year. In the past there were eleven. This makes a total of eighty individual panels.

If you have others, please PM me. I am also working on a trade list for you other crazy people like me who are trying to complete this set.

How do you protect the coin cards? I have a mantle quarter from last year (62). I placed it in a magnetic holder and now it looks like the quarter has a cooper film, almost like a watermark around the edge. Not sure if it was from being in the case or if it was the way I got it, or just being housed in the card with the film over it. Anyway was wondering if anyone else was having the same issue

    Hello all,

Does anyone know the exact size of pro-mold snap case to order for the 2012 Heritage quarters? There are "Real Thick" 150 pt ones and "Super thick" 180 pt ones. Looking to find a snug fit so they don't bounce around too much.

    Thanks,

soooo, the rumor of the day is that topps only put the Koufax autograph into retail value boxes. These are 14.99 boxes that have 5 packs of 2012 series 1 topps
and two HOBBY packs of 2012 heritage in them. It also includes a code card and 1 of 3 special cards (mantle, mays, Griffey).

There have been two Koufax autographs pulled and both came from these boxes. They are sold at target, walmart and other retail places. I bought 16 of them
and here is how I did.

    16 values boxes (32 packs)

    1 black refractor (Beckett)
    1 refractor
    3 chromes
    2 stickers
    3 TN
    4 Flashbacks
    1 NAP
    15 SP's

Be on the look out for these. You can usually recoup 2-4 dollars of money back just selling the code cards!

Ok guys, I'm a little late getting to the party, but I got a case of blasters and had a pretty good run. No ink, but I did complete a base set (didn't do that with a blaster case last time), and put a dent into the SPs and inserts. I don't particularly care for the new numbering system on the inserts. This is my first year of buying a hobby case and opening the boxes. Are the autos really that difficult to get? Out of the 12 boxes I got 2 autos and 11 relics counting the image switch relic I also got. I also got 1 coin redemption (Gibson quarter), 1 color switch (Jeter), 1 Kennedy card, 7 image switches, and 6 buybacks. Thanks for the info.

And here come the short printed red inks.

The first 3 weeks the product is out we don't see a red ink Aaron, Mays or Koufax. This week we get two of each on ebay. The pattern is very strange.
  • Options
It's not strange at all. But i think it is unfair on how the most popular autos are being distributed It is my belief that Topps included ZERO Mays, Aaron, and Koufax autographs in hobby packs. All of the big 3 have only been found in retail. While Mays and Aaron have been found in retail blasters, Koufax has only been found in the newly released value boxes which contain six regular Topps packs and two Heritage hobby packs.

Topps does hobby shops NO favors. They are constantly stabbing their loyal dealers in the back. I was ready to go throw down some more money at my hobby
shop on heritage, but instead topps my business to walmart and target buying those hobby pack value boxes. If I was a hobby shop owner I would be mad. What
is perhaps the most discerning is that topps knows what does into what packs. I though the odds on the back of the packs meant everything was random, but that
    just isn't the case now.

Back in the old days, topps told us now many of each autograph were made and what the pull odds were, now we don't any info on print runs. Who says a topps
employee couldn't leak out a few Koufax's slowly and make a killing?

oh well, same old topps, other than that I have enjoyed this years product.

The key point that might be lost here is that there is a LOT of this product still out there unopened. Time will tell that 2012 heritage was heavily produced.
  • Options
The price has gone down to $58 from the major wholesalers. Could this be a sign that Heritage was overproduced this year?

After buying nothing but retail, figured I would finally buy a hobby box, and damn what a disappointment.
    Here is what I pulled:

    9 SP
    3 Stick-ons
    4 Inserts (NAP, FB, etc)
    3 Chrome (Votto, Pineda, Worley)

And my two big prizes (if you want to call them that):
    Cliff Lee Image Swap
    Matt Holliday Clubhouse Collection

VERY disappointed. Will buy one more hobby box, and if I don't get a hit out of that, back to retail.

That is the contents of just about every hobby box......they are pretty consistent with the odds. You shouldn't be "very disappointed" to get the normal distribution....you have to save that for when you buy one hobby box and don't get the Matt Holiday CCR.

(unless you always win at Vegas, then maybe it is a big disappointment)

Exactly what I was thinking. When did Heritage become a "hit" product? I'm pretty happy when I open a hobby box and I need all or most of the SP's and inserts. That's a win at only $50 bucks per box.

Try out the new Museum Collection for hits. You won't be disappointed.
