Once a FedEx guy "missed me" ????
I was home.
Th next day I'm waiting and I hear a faint sound.
The guys is knocking on my door. I barely heard it.
I told him I had a door bell and he'd need to ring it next time. (told him nicely though.)
<< <i>Wow is all I can say funny how so many of us were never going to buy from them again, and than pop a special invite for silver for below melt am I upset I didn''t get the invite? >>
I was willing to wait until today to see what they did with their remaining sets.
It looks like they actually are going to be a good guy.
So, no mint contact about APMEX from me. >>
So would you be feeling the same if you didn't get the invite? Good Guys PLeaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I have a theory that Apmex Gold members who were on the alert list all "won" the lottery and got the email. Non-gold members had a 1 in 5 shot or so.
I had no idea I was a gold member - nothing I could find on the Apmex site tells you so. But I dug in my inbox and found an email from March saying Welcome to the Apmex Gold Club. Haven't bought anything from them recently, so maybe the timing isn't a coincidence.

T They are not leaving door hangers must be at wrong address, I called and gave directions.
I'm Apmex Gold, got the popcorn, and had ATB alerts since November last year. No email, and my attempted order is rejected.
Apmex got 90% of my bullion business previously: now they'll get 0%.

Yes.
So far, there is no evidence they have broken the amended ATB AP agreement.
Last night I was very suspicious when there is only a couple weeks left to sell, they had no word out other than "we are figuring out how to sell them," and then all of a sudden the product web page disappears and the alerts disappear.
It was very suspicious. And last night I said I'd wait until today to see what APMEX said.
Well, they are on sale. If not to me, there are plenty of people on here who have bought today.
What have they definitely done wrong??
They aren't yet even close to pulling what everyone thinks tGC did.
<< <i>Well...back in December I registered six distinct e-mail accounts under six names with APMEX and at the time received six different confirmation e-mails.
So today, as a test, having received not a single e-mail, I tried to place orders using all six...and got rejected six times. So something was rotten in Denmark with their "random" selection process.
But that's OK...because as I've said previously, I'm keeping my powder dry for the special Mint version. >>
Gee, I wonder if this decreased others chances of "winning the lottery"?

I assumed, like most others I would think, that when APMEX finally began selling these sets it would go off of the "Alert Me" list that everyone here got onto. Those that got on the list earliest would get first chance to order, and so on down the line. Since they ultimately decided to use a "lottery type system" as stated on the product page for the 5 coin bullion set, why did they ever have an "Alert Me" set up for this item?

if they did not use that, where would they get the e-mails of the people who are interested in making that specific purchase?
I don't think Apmex has cherry picked. They (apparently) have 3100 sets and have previously sold upwards of 1000. I am sure that with the included $99 processing fee they are able to make money on each additional set over what the bulk grading fees from PCGS would be.
I have only ordered from Apmex about five times in the past year. I have been on the list since the first day. I received the email and bought myself a set.
<< <i>how do the prudential sets come packaged? >>
anyone with a report? >>
I don't care how Prudential ships 'em!
Prudential could put postage on a raw puck and throw it in the mailbox with an address label on it and mail it to me and I wouldn't care after getting shut out of this Apmex deal
I trundled off to the post office today to start the PB puck buying process. Send 'em a check. Wait for acceptance and another address to send the shipping costs to. Send out that check. Wait for that check to clear. Wait for delivery.
BTW, I have a business account with APMEX that qualified for a Platinum membership. I did NOT set an 'Alert Me' for pucks with that account, and they didn't send me an invite, so there's some evidence that they're not favoring their better customers in any way by letting the 'elites' have a shot at silver under spot.
I do not remember this being posted yet...just noticed on the lower part of the e-mail from Apmex...
"*If you prefer to purchase without the value-added certification service by PCGS, the purchase price for the coins and shipping costs are the same as the PCGS graded coins."
I paid apmex with credit card got payment confirmation that stated delivery in 3-6 days ? well see soon sorry for the ones that were left out I also buy very little from ampex due to Okla taxes.
The people t apmex are turd bags, I will not buy even if they call me... My dignity is worth more than a couple hundred bucks. They screwed the pooch...
No luck for me with APMEX. I registered in December and have seen plenty of spam but no invitation to the party. No big deal, got one set from AMARK that is nice. Silver below melt is always nice though...
<< <i>PRU uses DSD in Delaware to ship their pucks they come in flips mine were very nice >>
I think I'm going to give PB a shot. Lots of hoops, but my order was apparently cancelled by DG and I don't want to pay wire fees again. And it might be one of the last chances for these. I'd expect CNT to make an appearance again soon too.
Successful transactions with keepdachange, tizofthe, adriana, wondercoin
Wow, just read all this this morning and had no APMEX e-mail either. I've only ordered a few holdered IKE's a few years ago to finish out a set but did do the alert me last year after they sold out. I finally did submit an order to JH and kept hesitating to send in the USPS MO for my first set. They sent me an e-mail last Friday saying "We better receive your money by Monday or it's cancel city for your order". So, figuring this was my last chance I reluctantly sent it express mail, they got it in time and have confirmed I have a set coming. Lord knows in what shape it will be in......
Then I get my e-mail around noon Alaska time from AMPEX..... Now what do I do?? Got to be worth is as the first set is ALWAYS the winner and mintages (at least for a while) will be much higher on the following issues.
Well, I pulled the trigger for another set (PCGS, not graded but who really cares.....there are only 32,999 others out there anyway.
I got on APMEX's wait list last fall, and scored a set on their first release in Dec. Also am a member of the "Popcorn Club". Apparently, they booted me off the list at that time.
It seems to me they are holding firm on the one-per rule, since I couldn't get past 3rd base. Has anyone been able to purchase a second set (same acct) this round?

It is kinda funny how everyone is so bent out of shape over "losing" the lottery over at Apmex. I mean, I have literally bought so many sets from so many APs now that I might have to give half of them away after my wife divorces me I didn't "win" the lottery and ya know what, I'm ok with it. The only thing that Apmex did wrong here is to make everyone wait until the last possible minute for no other reason than to send a message. The lottery however seems pretty fair to me assuming it was really a random lottery. It sure does put a kink in the Ol' Friends and Family plan that has worked so well with almost ALL the other APs. In my opinion, this is a fitting end to the crazy saga that we call "Hockey Pucks"
50 cal buddy: I was surprised APMEX let me order a set but maybe the e-mail went into my spam folder and I didn't notice it. Hard to imagine but possible.

of course I guess that is easy to say since I got in.
I was on the alerts for the ATBs from the get go, never heard a word when they went on sale the first Friday, only way I knew it occured was from this thread. Then I went on the alerts for the next go around early on and did not get the email to buy. So I can finally list APMEX as junk mail as I am sick of getting all of their SPAM. At least somthing postive !!!
Same here - I should have paid more and got a set that had good delivery. Would have saved me the lost wages from missing work waiting on Fedex to show or not.
