Just as an aside, this is the second time I have noticed that the posting count on this thread is off. The above "7300" post is the third post on this page, but both before and after I read it the count on the main page read "7301." By normal reckoning it should have read "7302," and this post should be "7304."

Is CU messing with us to keep us from wasting electrons with our "xx00" posts (of which I am more than guilty), or have we just wore out the compooter???

Yep, it is the PO Box thing. I have AMark order 3x and when I inquired last week I was told two things:

"There is no problem with your order; however FedEx does not ship to P.O. boxes. We will ship your coin set via US Postal Service."

    &

"They are not being shipped in order number. Your order has not been shipped yet, you will receive an email confirmation when it has."

I asked via email about my PO box shipment. Was told it was sent registered and they would send tracking on Monday. Of course there is no registered tracking.

A little lulled at the moment. These, along with the 2011 5 ozers and the 2011-W AGE/ASEs are the only real things I'm interested in coming from the Mint this year. So I'll be around for awhile.

I'm really dreading the day(s) these go on sale. I think there's a good chance of coming away empty-handed, particularly if all five go on sale the same day.

Wow, A Mark sets in hand $1800, sealed box $2K. What a difference a week makes. To think, Miles got $3800 for a sealed box and an MTB sealed went for $4K not long ago....

As long as that 3800 sealed box doesnt get returned.....

thats the problem with rapidly declining prices, ebay buyers start to back away, even after they receive them, and paypal always sides with them on chargebacks.......

it's as simple as "not as described"

Got my set yesterday from A-Mark. The only obvious marking/flaw that I saw was this on Mt. Hood. For those who are familiar with grading, how would something like this be evaluated? Is there a certain amount of leeway for bullion coins? >>

The "NAD" is just totally abused. Paypal shouldn't just rubber stamp these B.S. claims.

That said, I'd hope that weeks after delivery the NAD ploy would not fly.

buyers have used NAD months after a sale.

PAYPAL should revise policy for returns or chargebacks, BULLION should be NO RETURNS.

This should be clearly indicated in Ebay auctions, part of ebays bidding process, if the auction is labeled as BULLION, it should warn you NO RETURNS after purchase.

    and stick to it.

  • RaufusRaufus Posts: 6,805 ✭✭✭✭✭
I had no idea that it could be usedmonths later - WHAT B.S.!!!!

There should be a five day limit. Period.

Also, buyers should be required to demonstrate how something is NAD.

How can, for instance, a cert coin w/good pics be NAD?

I meant to add....ebay states that a no return policy is o.k. but then makes it totally unenforcable no matter how accurate the descriptions nor how detailed the photos. Makes no sense.

there are individuals on this forum who have reported up to six months later.

    not likely, but happened.

    BULLION = no returns period.

  • Personally, I think some competition in the online auction market is needed. Badly.

interesting to note, just as I expected, a search of feedback for multiple sellers of pucks reveals***TOY and VIDEO games sellers****

    hahahahahaha!!!!!!!

flip mania. like I said before, they have absolutely no collecting interest in these coins.

my opinion is anything at 1.5x issue for these is oversold.

we may see this, given how many flippers will get scared and flood ebay very soon.

I dont even want to look at the price once all the AMARK and Fidelitrade sets are delivered.

I like the set and wish that the rest of my recent US mint items were worth only 1.5X times or more the purchase price out of the gate....

Don't feel bad guys, nothing lasts forever, just hope your former buyers don't have buyer's remorse. They are still a good buy at the prices you

have paid for them assuming you are not one of those that bought online.
  • Regarding whether Amark asked PCGS to slab any MS69's, awhile back, someone suggested that we simply ask Amark. Sorry if someone has already done this before, but here's some email correspondance I have had with Amark:

    My email:

    "Hello,

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for the way you handled the distribution and sales of the America the Beautiful 5 Oz bullion coins. I found your website to be fair and the fact that you had PCGS certify these was just an excellent bonus.

I am considering sending these back to PCGS in order to get actual grades, but before I do, I had a quick question: when you sent these to PCGS for the initial encapsulations, did you ask PCGS to actually issue numerical grades at any level (like MS69 for instance)? Or, did you just have PCGS slab all of the coins as BU?

The reason I ask is that if these were already looked at for the 69 grade, I may just keep them in their current holders.

No matter what, I am very pleased with my coins and thank you very much for your efforts!"

    Amark's response:

    "Hello Mr. XXXX,

    Regarding your question:
    · Did you ask PCGS to actually issue numerical grades at any level (like MS69 for instance)? Or, did you just have PCGS slab all of the coins as BU?
No, we asked PCGS to slab all of the coins as Choice BU.

We are glad you received the coins without delay.

    Thank you for your order,

    A-Mark Direct"

It looks like, when the dust settles. that the PCGS 69s will be kings and not the 69ER PLs. I think that this is unexpected, but deservedly so. I think that the PL is B.S. Just MHO of course...

Will there be any 70s from either PCGS or NGC???

I dont think any 70's will appear from either service

I wouldnt count out those 69PL's though, PL designation on the UHR blew away PCGS 70 in pricing

    and still does

Most definitely!! That's why I am so surprised that the PLs are dropping and look to be behind the PCGS MS69s. It looks like the trend may not hold for the pucks. Why this would be the case I have no idea. So many things make no sense w/the pucks as to sales prices.

I believe A Mark. I have no doubt that they telling the truth.

It will be interesting to see how crazy the next AP release is. If prices continue to drop they may not sell out nearly as fast.

sf340flyer - Was your letter back actually signed by no one? Who exactly answered your letter? You have not shown that information? I had suggested previously in response to a number of comments here that Amark post publicly the answer to this question so there is a clear answer from someone "in the know".
