    You didnt answer the question?

I thought everybody agreed it is Florida State!?

Time to go bowling this weekend. Anybody, besides die hard fans of those schools, going to watch them!?

  • << <i>
According to who? The pac 10 are 9-5 in BCS bowl games. Far from crap. Oregon beat a higher ranked team than Auburn and they also beat a sec team. >>

Most BCS bowl wins by one conference before this season - SEC with 14

  • << <i>Time to go bowling this weekend. Anybody, besides die hard fans of those schools, going to watch them!? >>

I'll watch most games. New Years eve is going to include just about every single Florida team, so me and my buddies are planning to cookout and watch some football all day. I wouldn't mind going up to Charlotte to watch my team match up against Clemson, but I'd rather stay home with friends and family for New Years.

Here's the New Years eve line up btw,

    Noon: South Florida vs Clemson
2 pm: Miami vs Notre Dame
    3:30 pm: UCF vs Georgia
7:30 pm: FSU vs South Carolina

Pretty crazy every single game that day includes a Florida school. And with it being New Years eve, I'm sure that even if the state of Florida has a rough day, everyone will be in good spirits image

I will watch every bowl game, but mostly because I have a gambling hobby (problem) and college football is my fix.

For EdmundFitzgerald above- Dude, don't bother posting on a college football thread if you aren't proud enough of your team to admit who you root for. That is weak-a$$. I am a UGA fan, and I'm proud of it, even in a 6-6 season, the worst in over 2 decades.

I won't make it a point to watch too many of the bowls, but if I happen to flip by one while it's on, I'll stick with it for a little while.

I am looking forward to the title game, although it will likely be a 4-hour marathon with all the points that will be scored.

I should note that I'm an ND fan, so I am looking forward to the ND-UM game...not quite Catholics vs. Convicts, but should be fun nonetheless.

Games that people may actually care about coming soon....

Actually, I am curious what Iowa can do tonight.

Other than the National Championship game between O and AU....the only other one I really want to watch is TCU-Wisconsin...just to see IF the Hornyfrogs REALLY can compete with the big boys! Other than that, if I am home and not doing anything else I will watch the others, if not, no big deal.

    Indeed.

5 big ten teams play on Jan 1.

AZ got rolled as I expected.

  • << <i>Congrats to the Illini >>

Yeah, congrats to a team that won it's first bowl since 1999 against a 6-6 team.

Arizona did better at Oregon then they did against OSU.

Baylor was 7-5 and did well early in the season

  • So since we beat Clemson by 5 and Auburn beat Clemson by 3 (in OT), does that mean we get a share of the national title if Auburn wins? image
    (I'm kidding, btw...)

    Who's we?
  • University of South Florida. We beat Clemson 31-26 in our bowl game today. Although it was 31-13 and our team nearly blew it in the end! Oh well, a wins a win.

Tough break for the Vols. Though I am a west coast homer, by and large, I lived in Eastern TN and still follow the Vols. Tough way to lose. Second time this year as they had that 12th man on the field on the last play against LSU. Those are the breaks though. Games are getting better....

Nice win by U-dub last night to give the Pac 10 a win! Especially nice being 6-6 and not very good! Will be curious how the Pac does in the BCS games. I believe the Pac has been the underdog in all games except Stanford is favored by a couple over VA-tech.

I seem to remember UT had 13 on the field at the time on the so-called last play of the LSU game

It was a bummer of a way to lose though. Just like yesterday. You think you won... but NOT.

Nice way for the Irish to wrap up their season. Miami was our big rival when I was there, so especially sweet for me to watch today.

  • SEC is 0-3 so far....let's see if they can right the ship today....If not, SEC fans all over the world will be crying into their beers.

BCS bowl game records since it's inception in 1999.

    SEC 14-5
    UF 5-1
    Rest 9-4

    Pac 10 8-5
    USC 5*-1
    Little 9 3-4

    Big 10 10-11
    Ohio St 5-3
    Rest 5-8

    Big 12 7-10
    Texas 3-1
    Rest 4-9

    Big East 6-6
    Miami 3-1
    Rest 3-5

    ACC 2-10

    Notre Dame 0-3
  • Wow, I didn't realize I challenged the SEC's BCS record for the last 10 years. Pretty sure I only commented on the fact they were 0-3 going into today. Looking good so far with Alabama and MS St though. Penn State and UF is a good one!
  • You said SEC fans would be crying in their beers today if they didn't "right the ship" ???

The ship has been sailing smoothly for years. And it ain't gonna go off course because a 6-6 Tennessee or 6-6 Georgia
didn't do anything in a bowl game image
  • SEC fans wouldn't be disappointed if they finished the bowl season by only winning 1 or 2 games as a whole? I'm pretty sure any fan would hate to see their conference do that.
  • larryallen73larryallen73 Posts: 6,061 ✭✭✭
Is there really nothing else going on in the southeast except SEC football? My gosh. Goot made a simple comment that the mighty SEC was 0-3. That's it. He didn't challenge how great the SEC is or anything. Just that the geocentric lunatics who live SEC football can't hear anything negative about their beloved without pulling out historical facts. PATHETIC! Get a f'ing life people! Yes, I speak from first hand experience having lived in Eastern TN and owning real estate there for the last 27 years and dealing with the people there. TUNNEL-VISION!

Congrats to Alabama- no real surprise other than the score- Iowa would have been the better match up

Congrats to Mississippi State- well, the fact that they will win is not a big surprise but the margain remains to be determined

Tennessee isn't really the South. It's kinda no mans land. The U of T just happens to be in the SEC.

Well, I was speaking of eastern TN as being representative of SEC football fan. Being they are big football fans I have to imagine it's some what representative of other SEC football fans.

I was not talking about TN being really the south. However, that begs the question.... Because TN in 1985 was a very scary and incredibly racist place. I was scared just being friends with so many people of color back in Los Angeles. If it wasn't really the south I can only imagine what places further geographically south were like. SCARY!

In my simple opinion SEC football fan have incredible tunnel vision and only care about one thing. It's fine but this clown who posts on here just keeps backing up that sentiment. Maybe other SEC football fans are not as fanatical but I don't see them posting!?

    Tennessee is in the South...

    Ask Al Gore

Ask Estes Kefauver... okay you should have asked him when he was living

I am really happy for TCU. That's a big win for the little guys everywhere. I am a fan of the underdog so it's nice to see. Gary Patterson was an assistant at Sonoma State when I was there. He's come a long way.... Congrats TCU fans/alum!
  • TCU's win means nothing. "Big" 10 is by far the most overrated conference in the history of college sports.

Wrong. Big ten has the most national championships.

    Wrong again as usual.

If you are strictly talking college football championships, the Ivy League wins that one.

BCS titles (recent history), SEC dominates with 6 compared to 1 for the BIG 10
