<< <i>and maybe they've been pumping more 80s garbage out to attempt to catch up to where they should be at this point. >>
I think this is the truth. If you guys remember there wasn't just a 50's run, but there was also a 60's run and a very large run of 1973 and 1975. Unfortunately that drained a lot of at least interesting cards and now we get to log in to receive our million 1987-1989 topps card. I believe it was intended for the releases to occur like they did at the very beginning... That day I was one of the first to access the site when it went live since I was home sick. The results are posted earlier in this thread, but I'll repeat here:
Charlie Leibrandt 1993 Brad Pennington 1994 Pete Whisenant 1958 Mike Schmidt 1987 Josh Phelps 2005 Marty Keough 1963 Robin Yount 1987 Mark Langston 1987 Eric Davis 1988 Karl Spooner 1956 Checklist Card 1998 Joe Mauer 2006 Ellie Rodriguez 1970 Claudell Washington 1990 Bill Gullickson 1985 Russ Nixon 1960 Robin Yount 1989 Charlie Williams 1972
Obviously this kind of mix is a heck of a lot more interesting than what unlocks now.
<< <i>wow, just completed my 200th trade (that I've initiated, got dozens more that I accepted but don't show on the completed trades page) >>
Nice! I think I'm somewhere in that ballpark too, but about 50 of mine were with RCRacer299 alone
It's certainly been fun.
I just wanted touch on one thing related to the board and what you are seeing posted. If you recall, when they started shelling the cards out, the rate of 50s cards was only about 4.1% of all cards for about the first week of the promotion. I'd be willing to bet that is in line with what the overall % of 50's cards is supposed to be in the giveaway. Given that, you are not going to see many of the 50's cards on the board. The % is just to low for them to surface when they show the most recent 10 cards (which we know are not the most recent, but rather the 10 most recent that the program catches when it cycles around every 5-10 minutes). About 1:25 updates should include a card from the 1950s based on those stats and I think that sounds about right as well. It doesn't mean they aren't giving out cards from the 50s. In fact, I put in 14 cards AFTER they got back on track with the redemptions and got a 1956 in their, so I believe they are still going out, you just aren't seeing them on the board much b/c they represent such a small % of the overall promotion.
kshorton says: i gots an Empire State Building card... seeking advice.. is this better and worth more than my psa 3 franco harris 1973 topps card which i defouled by trying to make a baby with ? Please advise. the franco card is graded.. the ESB card is not yet, and I do not want to have a baby with the ESB card.
I'm just wanting to here someone say they saw a '52 or a '53... before the they showed a card only once, there were over 503 1952's given out and over 1,000 1953's. I couldn't imagine them keeping that pace for the entire giveaway (that was before the '50s run). I may be wrong, which would mean someone has to be getting one or the other sometimes.
Editted to note oen thing: At this same point only 300 cards from 1957 were given out.
This is my current status: Opened some packs today and unlocked 6 more cards. ONE was acceptable but none were great
This has been my sequence of trades:

Looks like a traded myself out of the trading game, most likely going to wait for series two before anything can pop up. I have some more redemptions, but it looks like a losing proposition with no Mantle, an 50's cards coming one in 20 or so and redemptions selling at 4$ each
Bubba Church 1952 Bubba Church / Pitcher / Cincinnati Reds Card Number: 323 Bill Serena 1952 Bill Serena / Third Base / Chicago Cubs Card Number: 325 Karl Drews 1952 Karl Drews / Pitcher / Philadelphia Phillies Card Number: 352 Billy Meyer 1952 Billy Meyer / Manager / Pittsburgh Pirates Card Number: 387 Jim Gilliam 1953 Jim Gilliam / Second Base / Brooklyn Dodgers Card Number: 258
<< <i>a 52 feller popped at 3 am the other night, and es I wake up and check for 50's runs periodically through the night, access over 330 cards, down to 12 >>
Here are my current redemptions. I just offered the lot to Republicaninmass for his 53 Gilliam. Assuming he turns down my probably less than generous offer, I am open to trading all of my cards. I want to keep my Dodgers and the 75 Williams most of all though, and am looking for more Dodgers.

Here is what I have right now. I would be willing to trade these for similar value 62's.

Update; Interesting fair trade I just turned down from someone I think I saw on this thread:
1956 Bob Kennedy for 1959 Bobby Richardson. I just prefered the Yankee card to the 56 but that was a very fair offer.
Certainly better than the guy on this thread who offered me a 1961 Dick Brown for that card

Wish you could just permanently block someone on there
<< <i>My tactic is just throw a bunch of carp trades out there and see if anyone is game. I get some funny as hell offers too. >>
This guy is offering say a 1994 common for a 1958 common and then that same 1994 for that same 1958 common, and again and again and again. all about a minute apart.
Just thought of something though. Maybe he thinks that if there are 10 of that 1958 common card available, he needs to to make the offer 10 times to get to all of them.

I have 33 cards from 1980 to 2005 that I already have and don't want to pay shipping for. Would someone out there be willing to trade for a 50s or 60s card for all of them? It could be the bottom of the barrell common. Don't care I just want to get rid of these cards from my portfolio. I also have 6 1961's, 2 1965's, and a 1966 that are up for trade. I'm willing to trade down in years (say a 61 for a 63 or 64). But I would prefer to put them together and get a card from the 50s. I also have several to trade from 1970, 1972, 1973, and 1974 that I would gladly do the same thing.
I have 364 cards in my portfolio, of which 88 are ones I already have. I would like to get that down to 276 and 0.
Players I would trade for include: Alan Bannister, Don Heinkel, Dave Sisler, BJ Surhoff, Richard Wortham, and Rangers Players. But my goal is to get some oldies I don't have. Thanks.
PM sent. I just made the offer. The older Rangers I'm looking for are the guys that come back on Alumni weekend and sign. None of those guys do. I'd prefer the 1966 Sam Mele #3. I set up the trade on the Website. Thanks.
I have a 1977 Mike Wallace; if you come up with something about the same era and interesting; that card is all yours
If you want to make several different offers; I'll figure one out or let me know what you have in approximately that time and we'll work it out

Sad as it is; I think the 1993 Ed Nunez is also a Rangers card; no wonder they never won until 1996. If you need that one; figure out something as well

I just had someone offer a 1969 Tim McCarver card for my 2008 Topps Todd Jones card. I know the McCarver card is not a Mantle rookie, but it still seems like a lopsided trade to me. Is there something about this Jones card I don't know about?

<< <i>Judging by their other issues with programming, I doubt all the 50s cards pouring out at the beginning were supposed to happen the way they did.
I think the way it's releasing them now is the way it was supposed to be from the beginning. >>

Charlie Leibrandt 1993
Brad Pennington 1994
Pete Whisenant 1958
Mike Schmidt 1987
Josh Phelps 2005
Marty Keough 1963
Robin Yount 1987
Mark Langston 1987
Eric Davis 1988
Karl Spooner 1956
Checklist Card 1998
Joe Mauer 2006
Ellie Rodriguez 1970
Claudell Washington 1990
Bill Gullickson 1985
Russ Nixon 1960
Robin Yount 1989
Charlie Williams 1972
Editted to note oen thing: At this same point only 300 cards from 1957 were given out.
This is my current status: Opened some packs today and unlocked 6 more cards. ONE was acceptable but none were great

Always looking for stars
Looks like a traded myself out of the trading game, most likely going to wait for series two before anything can pop up. I have some more redemptions, but it looks like a losing proposition with no Mantle, an 50's cards coming one in 20 or so and redemptions selling at 4$ each

Too bad you can't message people on there
1990 Andre Dawson Expos
1990 Ozzie Smith AS Cardinals
1979 Dale Murphy Braves
1976 Nelson Briles Rangers
2005 Jeff Weaver Dodgers
BOOOOOOOOO!!! But, if anyone wants any of them, let me know!
I'll trade you the 57 LaPalme for the 1961 Jim Maloney you have. Dead even price guide value
Let me know via Topps Million

edit to add:
which I just realized were the same two cards in the earlier post... then I got 8 of 1958 Bobby Shantz for the same card... Looking at the times they are 5-20 seconds apart...perhaps he thinks if he puts it up more than once it will go to 8 different people; and not 8 times to everybody that has the card

Have another 126 cards from 1970-1979 and 100 from 1980 to present...
LeagueLeader; IJustLoveCards; Recbball; msassin; leathtech; lsutigers1973; Bosox1976; Dboneesq; Aric; Bkritz
Thanks.
What I'm selling
Building Sets, Collecting Texas Rangers, and Texas Tech Red Raiders
No Rangers but have these three for trade:
I did find these 70's Rangers:
PM sent. I just made the offer. The older Rangers I'm looking for are the guys that come back on Alumni weekend and sign. None of those guys do. I'd prefer the 1966 Sam Mele #3. I set up the trade on the Website. Thanks.
What I'm selling
Building Sets, Collecting Texas Rangers, and Texas Tech Red Raiders
I have a 1977 Mike Wallace; if you come up with something about the same era and interesting; that card is all yours
If you want to make several different offers; I'll figure one out or let me know what you have in approximately that time and we'll work it out
