<< <i>Wow, this is really moving along quickly. If I'd known you wanted to finish the set in record time, I'd have guessed a higher $$ set cost. >>
Speed does not equal higher costs..I have gotten very very good deals so far because I have bought large lots so many have discounted those lots to me. I think you would be shocked if you looked at what I have and what I have spent.
Watching Felicia go after this set is like watching Joe Montana direct the 2-minute offense in a Super Bowl, LOL..

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
My guess is Herm Wehmeier for the last card to pick up. In PSA 7 this card is a bear to locate. However, with the range being PSA 5 to PSA 7, perhaps this is not as tough. Considering the pace so far though I wouldn't be surprised if there is not a last "card" but a last "group" of cards that bring this to completion.
The pace of this set so far has put my pace on this set to shame. 5 years down, around 78% complete.

<< <i>are you on the board yet with the amount (lowest bid is $26000+) >>
I wont give a total, but heres what I will say, The people who picked a number below Corvettes are still in the game...I'm not saying all of them are Im not saying none of them are, all I am saying is if you are below corvettes number, I have not gone past you yet.
I've been peeking into the registry Felicia. It is amazing how far you are already. Are you having a tougher time finding high numbers? i would say at first glance, more than half the 131 still needed are high numbers.
And by the way, is this all from private transactions?!??!?! Have you not gone to eBay once yet?!
I have NOT gone to ebay yet, all private transactions..
I actually got a bunch of high numbers today so its not as bad, the registry doesnt show what I have gotten. I will be doing an updated spreadsheet tomorrow and posting it here to show where we stand with the set.
OK Felicia ... enough spending money on 52's tonight. GO TO BED! LMAO

It's amazing how quickly you are putting this together. Does it lose its hobby itch by having it completed so quickly? Do you still get that same rush?
Since all of my transactions upto this point has been thru dealers, We have been using VCP and starting our negotations from there.
SMR has not come into play and since the transactions are not public, (i.e. ebay) it would be impossible for the smr to relfect any price changes from my set build.
This is a really fun thread... have you tried Mickey's Sportscards yet?
They're really nice folks and helping you with this project should be good for their business, here's a link to their 1952 inventory (perhaps they can give you a great deal on cards #407?):
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
I know it's too late to guess but I'll do it anyway just for S's and G's. I'll say $31,250. By te way, what's the date of the Chicago show? I'll be there the week of Thanksgiving. If my luck holds true, it will be a different week.

All PSA 6 = $85,900
All PSA 7 = $175,020
All PSA 8 = $501,135
