collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
<< <i>According to VCP, a PSA 7 set sans Mantle and Mathews is worth about $30k. >>
Close, if you consider off by $80,000 close. A PSA 7 set sans Mantle and Mathews is around $110K according to current average VCP pricing. Maybe you meant a PSA 5 set sans Mantle and Mathews. That would be around $34K. In PSA 7, the following 15 cards add up to more than $30K:
1 Andy Pafko 261 Willie Mays 312 Jackie Robinson 314 Roy Campanella 2 Pete Runnells 333 Pee Wee Reese 191 Yogi Berra 400 Bill Dickey 399 Jim Fridley 326 George Shuba 357 Smokey Burgess 175 Billy Martin 315 Leo Durocher 80 Herman Wehmeier 403 Bill Miller
Total: $30,412. If you can get someone to throw in the other 390 cards and pay you a dollar each for you to take them off their hands, then your $30K number is eerily accurate.
The average price in VCP of $5999 for a PSA 7 Mathews was based on one Ebay BIN sale from a low feedback seller. The sale likely never went through seeing as how no feedback was exchanged and seller hasn't been active since.
My bad, There must have been an error when I exported the set into my collection. I did exclude both the Mantle and Mathews. I also excluded all the duplicate backs from the first series.
The Price of 116,468 is without any duplicate backs and is the vcp value of a straight 7 set with the cheaper variation back for each of the first 80 cards, and like previously stated witout the Mathews and Mantle.

Looks like my after the deadline guess is way conservative unless you get some really sweet deals!
Either way The value/price paid will be a pretty penny compared to my unemployment checks it is nice to be in the "chase" to help to complete this set. If every poster finds 1 card this week, she could be complete!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I have to say, I've been lurking these boards for some time now and "I Just Love Cards" has to be one of the coolest and most generous individuals I've ever witnessed on *any* internet message board. However, this "Felicia" business is just plain silly, and you know what I mean. I know other members agree. Oh well, I only have like 10 posts in 2 years so I'll just go disappear into the shadows again. Good luck on the 52' set!

She made an offer to meet anyone face to face at the next Chicago show, so instead of typing nonsense while you hide behind your computer, grow a pair of balls and take her up on her offer. Until then, keep quiet.
Whoever you are troll, please realize that this board has a "private message system" whereby you can contact Felicia directly if you have a grievance with her instead of throwing out some "I'm just saying" nonsense on a public forum. If you truly are just a lurker, keep lurking and not posting.
You are correct those prices are way out of line, I wrote him and asked if we could make a deal on a card he had listed and he wanted over psa 7 prices for a 6.5.
Anyway,
This is the only card I have gotten, it looks like I will be getting abunch next week. ( like 200 of them).
This card was sold to me by Dakota, a former board member who knows more about 70's baseball material than anyone alive, I would venture to say PSA should ask him to speak about 70's cards at the national.
It is the Red back version and sells for about 125.00 more than the black back...

Edited. I did a lil research and this seems to be the case. I was under the impression more red were made than black.
A few years ago the Black backed cards were at a premium then neither sold for a premium now the reds do.
Anyone know why?
Steve
I haven't even opened the second box, and it has a bunch in it..so I will post those later tonight, as it will take me awhile..
These cards were all purchased from Mickeys Sportscards
Enjoy...
