The first post on this thread has been updated to show the participants whose cards I have received. I will keep that list updated as the cards roll in.
Well, the first batch of cards I've received have all been logged in. 145 cards is a great start!
The total confirmed number so far is 872 cards from 31 different people. I've received 7 packages, so I'm looking forward to a fun weekend.
There are also about 50 people who have asked for details on the submission who I either haven't heard from at all, are waiting for something to come in before they mail out to me or just haven't had a chance to ship yet. If you haven't contacted me already and are still interested in participating, please let me know ASAP.
If you've already contacted me and something has changed, please let me know so I can update my records.
Well, technically we're over the 1,000 mark already. I haven't added my cards to the total yet. I have at least 27 Gantner cards (hopefully 37 if I can submit my proof set to get slabbed Authentic!) to be added. I also have to go through a stack of 100 or so cards that I've got set aside in my stack of cards to submit someday.
<< <i>I wonder how long this one will take?? that is a lot of different cards.. do we have an over / under?? >>
Spring training will be over by then! Different cards? I sent Craig a mix of European/foreign, soccer, baseball & non-sport. (circa 1938 to 1986 Topps baseball)...
I sent-in a well-centered, clean, sharp-cornered 1978 Johnnie LeMaster. I'd love to see a nine. If I get a 10, I'll flip out! LeMaster may be the toughest 1978 card to find in high grade (pleeeeeeeeeeeeze 'do me right' PSA!)
From the recent 1986 topps group CU rip, I pulled a very nice 1986 Topps #716 Rickey Henderson A.L. All-Star that is a possibel 10 canidate, but the graders seem to be tough on those '86s, so I'll keep my fingers crossed on this one! (in addition, subbed another ten '86s from the group rip to Craig)...
I also sent Craig a mix of 11 European/Foreign cards from the 1930s: John Sinclair, Ogden's & Adrith, ...most are mint canidates!
I also "cherry picked" over 40 European/Foreign & Soccer cards, ...all from the 1950s. Mint canidates!
rd
P.S. Oh Yeah! I even included (1) 1966 Topps Rat Patrol card!
What!, no gantner bashing? What am I to do over the next two months while I wait for the grades to pop? Do you expect me to make thoughtful and insightful posts related to the card collecting community?
Well that ain't happening so Craig, you best go get your shine box too. I guess a Bob Geren is just as worthless in a Bccg holder.

You sending in any of the one's I sent you? There were a few real sharp cards in there. >>
Yep! I'm sending in a handful of the ones you sent me and a bunch that I bought from Burbank Sportscards. I spent $97.97 on Gantner cards from Burbank and ended up with about 20 worth submitting.
I guess it's still cheaper than trying to bust wax only to be disappointed with the results.
I shipped my cards today. Here is a list of what I am subing and the grades I expect to get. We will see hoe close I am when the grades pop. I have never subed sportsflics so I could be completely wront with how I graded them. 1990 Score- Martin Brodeur-9 1991 Action packed- Brett Favre-9 1999 Score- Kurt Warner-8 1982 Topps traded- Cal Ripken jr.-7 1987 Leaf- (3) Greg Maddux-9,9,10 1986 Topps traded- Barry Bonds-8 1986 Donruss The Rookies- Barry Bonds-8 2001 UD- Sergio Garcia-10 1991 Fleer Ultra Update- Brett Favre-9 1991 Classic- Brett Favre-10 1996 UD- Kobe Bryant-9 1991 UD- Rookie Force Checklist (favre)-10 1990 Fleer update- Emmitt Smith-10 1990 Topps traded- Emmitt Smith-9 1991 Score- Brett Favre-10 1991 Stadium Club- Brett Favre-8 1992 Topps- Manny Ramirez-9 1993 Topps- Derek Jeter-9 1991 Pro set Platinum- Brett Favre-9 1991 Pro set- Brett Favre-9 1990 Pro Set- Emmitt Smith-9 1987 Sportsflics- Bo Jackson-9 1989 Topps traded- Troy Aikman-10 1989 Topps traded- Barry Sanders -10 1990 Sportsflics- Sammy Sosa -9 1989 Sportsflics- R Johnson, R Martinez, B Milacki -9
$5 per card plus shipping. This applies to all except for me, Joe saw that the cards that I'm subbing and determined that they were so worthless that he's only charging me 5.25 per card. So I got that going for me
<< <i>Another 130 cards have been added to the mix...so we're up to 1,115 cards committed so far!! >>
Wow, were not talking Chump Change anymore!!!!!

We're up to 1177 committed now and will know about more in the next few days.
If anyone is planning to submit cards with the group and you haven't contacted me yet, please do so ASAP!
I received 3 packages in my mailbox today. There are more waiting for me at the post office since I got delayed a bit at work this evening. I'll be picking them up in the morning.
I hope Mr. Orlando is reading this thread and realizes that the yearly fee is hurting is volume. No need for a tote bag, book, market report, or pop report, I JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO SUBMIT CARDS.

Why does no one take into account that the 6 "freebies" that you get are basically the equivalent just paying for 6 submissions. If you want to submit, then submit. It's as easy as paying the membership fee which equals the value of six submissions. Why people complain is purely beyond me. People just like complaining. They feel like they're being suckered in or something. So PSA wants you to submit a minimum of 6 cards per year. Big deal.
hi lloyd i want to sub 10,000 cards a year, but id get writers cramps in me poor old fingers this is why group subs are good, i dont have to do anything but wait 45 days
I dont count the 6 "free" submissions, becuase I just send 20, not 6 cards for the same price! No need for all the extras. Why cant the PSA defenders see this?
<< <i>I dont count the 6 "free" submissions, becuase I just send 20, not 6 cards for the same price! No need for all the extras. Why cant the PSA defenders see this? >>
If I felt as strongly as you do, I wouldn't be part of this. I'll gladly pay for Gumby to send you back your cards. We don't need any bad karma for this. Please don't put my cards anywhere next to skilow's

I predict Craig's will be sore in about 75 days when the cards return encapsulated in their PSA holders. It looks like we could get close to 1500 cards. I wonder how much 1500 slabbed cards weigh?
1211, that's impressive. Now what's going to be more impressive is when Gumby scans all 1211 and posts the pics on this thread. Way to go Gumby!!!!!!!!!!

LOL! If everyone is cool with getting the submission out to PSA sometime in April, I'll start scanning now.
I've just finished logging in the 4 packages I picked up at the post office this morning. The list of people whose cards I have received has been updated on the original post of this thread. I have also PM'd everyone whose cards I have received.
We're up to 459 cards in hand! I'm expecting quite a few packages today, so I'm waiting at home until the postal carrier comes.
