Here are two images from the Mint. The obverse image is difficult to detect any evidence of a navel due to lighting. But the edge view clearly shows her navel.

Gold is below $900, time is ticking, now I'm waiting to see if that holds for 5 days for the mint pricing to go back down to it's original start point.

I think you have another hundred to go to get to the 1189.00 number.
Checked out my UHR (sorry no decent photo) and it's impossible to not see the naval from all directions. Either the lighting in the photos is hitting directly inside the naval to obscure it or some of the coins may have a weaker strike. I have noticed that some rim edges appear to be wider (on the flat before cupping down into the image area). Could this be an indicator of less pressure during the strike? IMO the navel is small enough that just a few thousand pounds could make a difference. That said, the no-naval, if it exists, could be the rarer of the two.

Front Month (April) Gold Futures closed at 889.10 for the open outcry in NY. It rose in electronic trading and is currently running aroun $930, which is up over $40.
I logged in tonight to find grades on two that I submitted. I received them before the FS deadline and planned to just send in the best one, but they both were perfect under a 7x loupe, so I sent in both:
1 1 14205359 407405 2009 $20 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle US MS70 1 2 14205360 407405 2009 $20 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle US MS70
So I FINALLY got my UHR today (even though I ordered it 2 hours after it went on sale... ).
So since I don't have a first strike coin, can I open the package before sending it in for grading, or is there still a benefit to keeping the package sealed? Sorry if this has been brought up already, I just don't have the time to scan 3900 posts...
If it is too late to send it in for first strike, you can open the package and inspect it before you send in the coin. You don't need to send the box either, just the coin.

Got my on line results for my one and only UHR. Lucked out and got the 70. Don't know whether to sell it...or keep it to see how many First Strike 70's we wind up with. Think it will be less than 2,000?

the only advantage to keeping it sealed at this point is if you decide to sell it. Opened the buyer may think it was searched for a 70 candidate and didn't pass the test. disadvantage to selling it sealed is you are never positive of what you sent to the buyer!

Wow, I got mine in the mail today sans booklet and as others have said was quite impressed with the presentation - I really would not want a 69 or 70 slabbed coin & the office staff was quite impressed with the appearance. Simply beautiful...BTW, no signature required even though it says it is on the shipping box.
