just called CC co, and no pending charge for UHR nor my higher value order I was talking about earlier. They shipped a lower value order of the same thing placed 1 week after this bigger order, I got it and it was over $300 plus UPS did the "throw and go" on it. as for this other higher amount one? not even a pending charge much less a way to check its ship date status online. (do they like taking calls?)
and like I said, my UHR did show as pending on my CC earlier this month... now that pending charge is g-o-n-e.
Qeustion:
did anyone else whose pending charge disappear complain to PBGS(800-usa-mint) often? I'm wondering if this is retaliation, or if it even happened to those who did not bug them hardly at all.
I just got off the phone with one of these so called customer service reps at the mint & before I even asked anything, she wanted to know if I was calling about the UHR. When I said yes, she told me that they'd been informed to tell customers that they have no information on them, don't have any info on shipping dates, she even went as far as to say that they don't even have them.
When I asked how it was possible that some people already got them, she said that was impossible. I told her whomever told her that none were sent out yet was lying to her.
Bottom line is, Moy needs to be fired & I doubt any of us will see these coins anytime soon.
<< <i>my CC company said they "don't just fall off" they have to be removed. >>
What cc are u using ... I want to make sure never to accept an offer from them, because that's a bunch of b.s. "temp holds" do drop off ... ususally between 3 to 7 days.
"Bongo drive 1984 Lincoln that looks like old coin dug from ground."
calling PBGS now.... boy this one's going to be good.
read first three digits of order number, was interrupted... "is this about UHR?" "no."
==> larger value order placed on 2/4 is on CC hold, with no due date for anything.... no pending CC charge either. CC hold for almost 3 weeks with all the biz and similar dollar amount orders previously placed????
==> Lincoln commem... still on hold about them... 1:48pm eastern. "They are backordered," rep said authoritatively. Meaning the rep read the date of Apr. 1 and was telling me what I already knew. So, I say I know they are shipping now and people have already gotten them, why does it show "back ordered" for me when I ordered in the first hour? That's what the system shows... (essentially saying they can't do anything) So, i ask if it doesn't seem wrong that for some orders they are shipping and the system labels mine "backordered" ? "The warehouse will catch that." I call about that on Friday, and where's my tracking number? You're saying it's backordered. You said I had to wait. Now, the warehouse is going to "catch it?" ... "please hold...." while I'm still waiting here is an ebay auction of a Lincoln Proof - 260366052414 ... still on hold ...
"Latoya" "where are you?"
I'm not even raising my voice here.... when confronted with logic, they implode.
"Latoya, how much will a 10 hour call cost PBGS?"
new rep on the phone... new anwers...
==> Lincoln Commems... "backordered?" not what I see.... shows pre-ship stages.... sorry... can't get you a tracking number before you hang up. they are in pre-ship stage. hmmmm... "how do i know. all the dates missed on other stuff like UHR?" ... "that's what it's showing"
==> larger order.... told them same story... "let me release that for you, but can't give you a ship date"
==> Lost return.... looked at notes from friday "hmmm says in here that the name on the FedEx site doesn't work here. Perhaps they mean it ws in the Indy FedEx facility and will wait for today to see if it arrives" "The FedEx site says 'delivered'. when does 'delivered' mean it's in the neighborhood?" (forgot to mention they say nothing that it's been since Jan. 9th and that doesn't seem to raise a red flag. "That person doesn't work here" "Go on the FedEx web site and click and you can see the image of the signature.... the last name is mostly scribble.... theonly thing I can tell for sure is it ends with 2 T's, and the text name you are reading has only 1 T... how can you go by that!?!? It's unreadable." ... I'll look into it.... hold....
now rep is checking on it. I'm on hold and rep periodically checks back to make sure I'm not forgotten about...
rep comes back on and will have to call me back... not a surprise... unless they found it, they need to keep looking... especially now that I pointed them to the electronic image of the signature and the word "delivered"
===> UHR .... PBGS rep says official word is they will resume shipping this week but does not have a date. My rec. for getting a date commitment from the warehouse drew a chuckle from rep.... hmmm... i thought that would be a good customer service thing to do....

I just got off the phone with a mint rep. I asked if the shipped on a first order in basis and she replied Yes. I explained to her that has not been the case. She replies they must have got it off Ebay, that they ship first order in is first order out. The reps are no help at all.
anyone remember how the previous people used to take the calls?
you: order number is 12345678 them: tell me your name address and e-mail.
well, PBGS phone reps were (are?) a security hole as pointed out by coins.about.com

You sound like a recent customer of the mint. Most of us have experienced this frustration years ago and gotten used to it. I very rarely ever speak to the mint or the PBGS whatever they are called now. When the first spouse coins came out I waited a long time. Also that whole entire year of first spouse coins I waited for I never recieved them fast always months. The problems with these UHR's are just stupid. They need permission to send the coins out without the books. We just want our coins am I right or wrong

That is ALMOST good news. Playing the optimist that would suggest that the fulfillment center is waitng for their revised tracking feature to go into effect before shipping out the UHRs. According to the previously posted press release that feature is supposed to be up and running by the 25th or at least there will be a further update on its status by then. With up to 29,000 UHR orders heading out the door I can see why they don't want to have to field calls and would prefer to have the tracking information available on line.

hmmm....
they need to get their information straight still.
disappointing to see some improvement but on the UHR's.... still going nowhere.
I do note the advice to get a first date of resumption from the warehouse drew a chuckle... so .... perhaps it was pacification talk.
Though they need to realize... just as I was unhappy when the 20th came and went... if I don't hear a "I have it" from someone by mid-week, then what little they seem to be doing will all go to waste as trust will be totally broken... again.
I called the mint an hour ago and talked to a dumb arrogant woman so i decided to take Ms Morrisons advise and i called 1 202 354 7200 which is the mint directors # I was transfered to a Deborah Holt who is in the marketing Dept of the Mint in Wash. This was one very apologetic individual. She stated to me that the mint will be informing people about the problems that they have been having. She also stated that they will resume shipping of the UHR today or tomorrow. Resume which means they have sent some out. She also stated that the orders which they are shipping are the ones who ordered within the first hour. E-mails should be sent when your order is shipped. I was told to call her back in two or three days if i do not hear anything. I hope this helps and we shall see.
I am sure all of us were very upset when the 20th came and went. When the UHR went on sell I and the rest of you knew that the mint's website would overload with all the people trying to get their order in fast and early. When the first spouse first came out in 2007 they sold out in three hours that is crazy fast almost never heard of in the coin world until the first spouse coins first came out. The UHR is the same way the mint did except that their would be a high demand for this coin. This coin is a remake of one the most sought after coins in the mints history. Come on let me know what you think.
I just called the mint as my order was also supposed to ship on 2/20. After a long hold, I was finally connected with a Spanish accented representative that had a hard time understanding the digits of my order number when I spoke them. Then I was told that the order was backordered for an unspecified amount of time. I asked her if any of these coins were being shipped out and she said 'no'. I asked when website would be back up and she didn't know that either, but said they had been working on it for 2 wks. I asked for a supervisor and after a long hold, she came back and said that there was no supervisor available and that I should check back later in the week to see if a backorder date had been given to my already-3-times-backordered coin.
So basically I wasted 30 minutes and have no more info that I had before I called, except wondering now if the government is hiring illegal aliens.
this is some good news, however you shouldn't believe anything you hear from these people not even in DC. they could be telling you a story to leave them alone. I hope this bears truth to it

but this is all another thread, flame fodder, and totally off topic.... I'll drop it. if you want the last word go ahead.
I know how you feel. I call the mint every day three times a day. Because to tell you the truth I get three different responses from these reps. I called today only because the rep over the weekend told me it would ship out today and I should call today to get an update or a tracking number. I buy coins from the mint for a time not a super long time but I have all 2007 first spouse coins proof & uncir, the platinum 10th anniversary set, some commem, I even signed up for the first spouse 4 coin subscription program when the program first started. I signed up for that program for the special 42 coin box that would have been a gift for signing up to the subscription then it was canceled. I mailed a lettter to Mr.Moy telling him that a collection such as the first spouse should get a special collectors box to show off all 42 coins like the commemorative 32 coin olympic coins back in the mid 90's remember that.
with the new national parks quarter program coming out next year. How about a cool bullion program. A Double eagle program it recreates all the double eagles with modern tech just like the UHR. The mint has also honored people besides people in the US not in coin but in medal. How about a silver Papal collection to honor all the popes. Which person in history has more power in the world besides the president of the USA. The pope IE John Paul the 2

I hope this helps and we shall see.
but I didn't even get into that....
They can see tracking numbers on the orders.... I imagine call volume will go up in the late evenings as people check for tracking numbers.
thank you very, very much.
So basically I wasted 30 minutes and have no more info that I had before I called, except wondering now if the government is hiring illegal aliens.
<< <i>I am sure all of us were very upset when the 20th came and went. >>
I explained that to the rep too!
All the anticipation... fanfare ! ... my favorite us coin..... and then "uhhhh..... end of Jan ... 2/6 ... 2/11 .. 2/18 ... 2/20 ... oops it's the 21st... now the 23rd..." all with different stories.... outright lies.... and there won't be people having cows (plural)?
<< <i>The mint rep. told me today that 29,000 have not been minted, that it is lees than that. >>
So- 'The Mint' rep is calling a "mid-level mint manager" a liar???? Hmmmm.....
