I don't date back to the mid 90's with that, but it would have been nice if they did make a box for them all in the end... but then there is the capsule sizes issue that'd make it look a little weird.... though I guess if they did it in row order... if different rows had different sizes it might not matter so much.

well... hold on.... perhaps it is mainland china since we seem to need their loans right now. I often thnk back to the "separate politics and trade" demands of china way back and now think they could invade Taiwan under threat of not funding our bailout.
on topic part - buy more gold us coins since the financial markets have improved, but only to the point of not immediately bleeding to death. largest Ponzi scheme EVER: US National Debt
(mint's stated goal is 15% margin on numismatic products. last couple of years they were under 15%.)
I was on Ebay and how can anyone sell a 2009 Double Eagle and say it will qualify for First Strike unless they have it in hand. No one even knows if anymore of these coins will ever be shipped.
<< <i>I was on Ebay and how can anyone sell a 2009 Double Eagle and say it will qualify for First Strike unless they have it in hand. No one even knows if anymore of these coins will ever be shipped. >>
before even PCGS started taking sealed, dated boxes I always saw auctions for "first strike eligible sealed box!" which were way pastthe cut off and would nt have qualified under the old rules when the auction was listed.
you expect 100% honesty on eBay?
"rare dollar bill! only one with this serial number!" has been a sales technique since eBay began. everything was rare, many still rely on that word no matter.
when it comes to first strikes. I would never trust unless I get the number and call up the company to confirm. or let them send you a picture to prove it. If its in a box take it out a box is a box.
I have purchased many things from ebay and have been fooled once. When it comes to ebay especially coins and currency and anything expensive I demand a picture and if it is graded I want a number. ebay is a perfect venue for scamming
<< <i>The UHR is like when the first two first spouse coins came out they where backordered for months. >>
No way, when those came out they shipped rather quickly and in order. The backordered ones were late orders. I had my 20 coins in about 7 days. Things started getting messed up with the release of the jefferson liberty, the the bald eagle commems, and have gone downhill to where we're at now, which is nowhere...
I Just called the US mint and Wesley Snipes told me that the computer states a no status on my coin. I said what? He told me sorry don't know nothing about your order, but you do have a order. Sorry he says..

I wonder how many of those really pitching a whine in these threads were those that did the "ebay pre-sales"? Sure, I would have liked to have done that too, but I have seen what the mint does in some of the things (like this), and so I held off.......gonna be some unhappy people and unhappy refunds, methinks
I am writing this whole UHR thing off. I have 2 orders - both at one time or another have been at a stage that in the past would have meant delivery the next day. Both CCs had a charge and both had it disappear. Both were in stock and reserved with ship dates last week and no check boxes - that is just a distant memory now - I cant even remember what the track order page looks like anymore. My CC is just about to expire and I have zero faith that either will actually be delivered to me. Not only that, I just realized that I have never posted anything of real substance and that string is maintained with this post.
as stated once long ago, this is buy and hold hold hold. I hope to pass it down and down...
however, should gold go into a mania rally, I might just sell with the intentions of rebuying at a lower price... however, that assumes that there will be a crash after the mania and that any mania will be recognized.
but immediate flip? not gunna happen.
my favorite us coin. period.
although this would be the #2 wouldn't it, since there's nothing like having the original version. hmmmm seems like this one is much harder to get though.
Hey MsMorrisine Used the direct phone number you supplied...got straight thru...but was told that you can use the mint confirmation # as tracking #. Yeah sounds weirds. I then asked about the dollar comm I ordered which had charges yesterday but not now...she said she had to transfer me to the person dealing with those...got voice mail

you mean the 202 numbers ? (panic)
Keep in mind: those are not direct for anything but the Mint's main men!!! The head of the mint, etc.
They likely won't help on the Lincoln's since the only delay issue I've seen is with my order showing Apr 1 and everyone else is going great friday and today. So calling the top dogs likely won't get you any answers on your order.
If they somehow do get contact you on the Lincoln's, I would be sure to frame it as an overall issue with the fulfillment of the orders by their contractor PBGS, instead of "can you help me with my Lincoln order numer 12345678?"
They may just go to an unlisted government phone number if everyone calls for the status of their single order.
(Use it carefully! unlike me posting it for the planet.)
(I don't wanna be too busted for making public information public and urging people to use it. )
sure am glad I didn't give out those Pitney Bowes Execs' home addy's and numbers... I'd be in deep if everyone called and wrote them about every order issue.
but... it was found publically.... and using no pretense calling nor other illegal means!
on topic: I will check UPS' "reference tracking" but I've found it more hit-or-miss than FedEx. (another reason to like FedEx.) So, I don't 100.00% trust it, but I'll check it first.
what do these main men say is going to happen with UHR's will they be resuming shipping on the UHR this week or what. Could we really take anything that they say at face value. However it is still early we have only heard good things in terms of the shipping of the UHR since last week. We shoud see what this week brings.
MsMor - Nothing personal about foreign speaking persons - Just that she seemed she could not understand me properly. It was a dig towards the US Mint only - probably out of place, only because I am very frustrated at them selling a product then not supplying it. In any other place in the US, that would be called false advertising? Nothing personal intended, whatsoever.
Sometimes they check your bank account with credit card and then it goes away for awhile - to come back at a later date.
Hello all. I guess I was a bit excited? It's 7:45pm ET and I just checked my cc and there is a charge pending for the UHR. There was an authorization earlier this month for about 7 days and then fell off. Maybe the mint has their act together?? Let's see what happens over the next couple of days
Well I ordered one at 12:42 January 22nd and my dad ordered one at 12:32 January 22nd and neither of us have had our cards hit. He received emails saying his coin would ship Feb 6th and Feb 22nd. I of course never received that email. Only email I ever received was for a backorder with a ship date of Feb 6th. HAHA
Hi smokincoin, due to the articles I've read about UHR orders being canceled I don't want to share anything related to my order number. I will say that my order was placed within 30 minutes on 1/22. The last email I rec'd from the mint was a ship date of 2/20 and we all know what didn't happen. I did check my cc twice today and there was nothing, but tonight there is a charge, not an authorization, on my cc tonight. Not sure what this means but we will all find out soon, I hope.
mine as well. lets not forget the night is still very young they sometimes go until 10pm sometimes to charge CC. I am on the phone with the PBGS now to find out some status if any
does anybody here goto the CCAC meetings in DC. If anybody does we should give that person some suggestions on a new coin program for the US mint to make. I mean yes the national parks is a good program and so was the 50 states program, the first spouse and presidential dollars but I don't know how long those two programs will last hopefully to the end the first spouse is going to be a very beautiful collection if it runs to the end and if it is changed to include living presidents and spouses. Because before the 50 states program coins were very boring and dull. however once the 50 states program came into full swing peole started to collect coins in a big way again, then the mint came out with more things to keep the people into coins and they have at least I have

In a couple days you'll get a letter from the US Treasury stating that your address information doesn't match the card on file, even though they've managed to charge your card and the address info does in fact match... Haha, just kidding - Go Sox!!
UHR Ordered on 1/22/09 @ 12:08PM Status: Received ... sent to grading
can't see the order time since web site page is down.
rec'd order ack e-mail at 12:49pm. So, I ordered earlier than that.
order 30832###
I'm at least in the 6 - 7 thousand range (assuming all are UHR orders) after some of you guys which is less than the reported 29,000 figure.... which I was trying to impart to the rep.... who wouldn't commit to even my coin shipping this week despite stating that the shipping will resume this week.
I kept saying "first hour" and out of 29,000 pre-made I'm one of the early orders....
So, I don't expect to be first, but I expect to be in some of the first that go out and not have to wait on the next minting past 29,000... no way, no how.

Clearly FIFO has been abandoned by the fulfillment center. It would really be nice to know just how they are filling the orders. Are those going to PO Boxes that are headed out registered mail being delayed due to the extra paper work? Is everyone's order going out by the same shipper with the new USPS add on for final delivery so that registered mail is a thing of the past? Has the fulfillment center lost track of whose order was placed first becasue that info went down with the demise of the tracking feature?

I'd have bought one in an instant.
Why not plug your order number into the UPS tracking site to check.
