Some nice additions Mike. My TTMs have been at a halt for too long. Have sent out less than 10 in the past 1.5 years.

collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.

  • The TTMs have slowed to a crawl for me as well. I'm getting 2 and 3 a week instead of a day.
  • Did you get Earl the Pearl Monroe on your litho at the Collectors Showcase Show ? I finally got a 1969 Topps signed by him
  • VitoCo1972VitoCo1972 Posts: 6,128 ✭✭✭
@cardsandbeads, yes, I got Pearl on my 50 Greatest Litho. Hasn't come back from Denver Autographs yet. Already had a 69 Topps

    BUT THIS MADE ME SMILE:

He'll sign it...for $500. Steep for sure but as a Boston sports nut, I couldn't live without it in my collection,

Was excited to finally add The Black Jesus to my 50 Greatest Litho. It's going in for the Shaq signing next weekend.

Also added Wayne Carleton to my 69-70 Bruins Stanley Cup champs media guide. I really love these media guide projects.

The PSA cards are my collectors club renewal. I had a 1968 Topps Tim Horton fail (and I think it's legit). I'll send back in a few times.

  • Great stuff . Don't know about that Brodeur or Sakic . What was Tony Dorsett charging ? Nice signed Dorsett rookie and that Lithograph is spectacular .
  • Mike,
Great job. You're really kicking it into overdrive with all these new items.

    Quan,

They have always allowed me to do that, HOWEVER, I'd always ask in advance prior to renewing. Just contact them and ask, PSA is GREAT to deal with for the most part. Just like most other businesses, as long as it still makes money for them, and is not too inconvenient, they will work with you.

I agree with you. I'm about done with these golf tournament consignments. The guys signing know that the people chasing are all consigners. You never seem to get anything respectable back. I think Sakic would pass PSA but no way would Brodeur.

I think Dorestt was $60. Can't remember. Needed him to fill a few sets. Put it in package with Earl Monroe and figured I'd avoid more shipping costs on him later.
  • thx mike & mike for the post/pm...i will send an inquiry with psa. unlike most on the other board i've been happy with psa grading/service, be it prewar stuff or modern psa/dna as i adjust my expectation accordingly.

from what i've seen sakic has been good on the golf course, this sig is an outlier. brodeur is terrible and i will never do a consignment for that...in this case his good "MI".

A few of the big living hockey HOF RC's added since last update. Managed to find the cards for cheaper than I've seen in the past and just went for it. The Henri Richard is my favorite for sure. Also, I had about 80 cards come back from John's Red Flip submission. It would take forever to post them all here but all my registry sets have been updated with cards and scans.

Went out to Sherwood CC with the wife today for the Tiger Woods tournament. Failed to get Tiger (I'm about 15% with him lifetime) but did pick up two McIlroy autos thanks to a nice tee box marshall that helped me out. The Congressional flag that he got done for me is awesome. Was also happy to get full Webb Simpson autos instead of the "WS" of last year. Wife and I are now huge Duff Daddy fans. He was super nice to her.

Also other mail additions from the past week or so.

Pretty excited about these returns today! I know the Garnett signatures are pretty crappy but that's his auto. The Paul Pierce ones are fantastic though. I love the actual-size banner. It was already signed by Rondo and now it just needs Ray Allen and Kendrick Perkins. It was made by Reading Trophy and Shirt, the company that makes the banners that hang in the Garden.

  • Nice additions . The 1970 Bobby Clarke is one of my all time favorites and of course Forsberg 's rookie, another one of my favorites. And you got Leroy Ellis . How many 1969s is that for you? I'm at 84 .
  • VitoCo1972VitoCo1972 Posts: 6,128 ✭✭✭
The Leroy Ellis put me at 88/99 on 1969 Basketball. I have a Happy Hairston that I'm sure is real but PSA rejected once. I'm actually missing 4 living guys (L Jackson/W Reed/R Adelman/L Rackley). Dead guys missing are Wilt/J Walker/G Johnson /R Williams/G Rodgers/A Harris.

I was pretty stoked about the Dryden rookie. I'm now 123/132 on 1971 Topps hockey. I'm sure there are a few non personalized ones out there but this one is in nice shape so I picked it up when given the chance.

There's so much amazing stuff here that I don't even know where to start. Keep it coming!

Got out to the Toshiba Senior Classic this weekend. My whole intent was to try to get Tom Watson to sign a golf ball for me. He hadn't in the last 10 years but last year he signed them and I freaking forgot to bring one. This year I took the wife and was fortunate enough to get a couple done. One is a Masters logo ball and the other is a 1982 US Open ball. They're crappy signatures but whatever! I'll have them until death and probably never get him to sign another one. Totally stoked.

Was also happy to get Jack Nicklaus on a 1972 US Open ball from a consignment on SCN. Good week for my golf ball collection!!

Missing Ed Marinaro (refuses to ever sign the card) and Ironhead Heyward (there is debate about whether one even exists. He was in Hospis when the set came out and died shortly thereafter. Only other one is Troy Aikman and I have one but psa failed it for some weird reason. Trying again in latest group sub.

Pretty stoked with some of these additions. The Brees is amazing. Can't thank John for all the help in Chicago as always. Was bummed out that the Adrian Peterson got smeared but at least they refunded the signing fee. I'll probably sell this one once he does another signing. John's the man for taking care of it.

What's wrong with marinaro? He should be thankful someone wants it signed, people can't be clamoring for a hill street blues rookie card

WOW! Amazing Mike. You keep 'em coming. I REALLY slowed down to almost NOTHING recently. I really should start up some TTMs again.
    STAY HEALTHY!

    Doug

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Bobby hull is an amazing talent and the Boston sports fan in me is excited over the nomar and mankins pieces, HOWEVER even though I don't collect hockey it's just super cool to see that Ron Francis rookie in a whalers uniform. Great stuff!
