    Friends and Family.
After spending the last 2 days in Kingston, we have made arrangements for Michael. This is all tentative, as we still don't have him home, but ought to be close enough to plan.
We figure Myself and SSgt. Friend ought to ship out of here by tue, wed or thur at the latest (dang Army and their 72-96 hour junk) to escort Michael home from Dover Delaware where it is confirmed he already is. We will either fly into DFW Airport or the Ardmore Airpark (if the plane is capable of landing on it's airstrip) where the Patriot Guard Riders are going to escort us on to Kingston High School, (after school hours) or the Watts Funeral Home, Hwy 70 East, Kingston, Okla.. It will only take a day, so the local High School (Kingston HS) has offered their gymnasium for services and a period of viewing. This will probably be at least Friday evening (after school hours) on to Sat morning. The funeral is scheduled for 1:00 Sat afternoon the 26th of Sept. at the Shay Community Cemetery.
There are several smaller motels in Kingston, just down the street from the High School, and Durant is only about 10 or 12 miles east and there should be no problem securing rooms there for those who need them. I will figure out a map somehow to send folks who aren't familiar with the area but Kingston is such a small town, if you drive thru it you will see the High school, and folks will drive to the funeral site (probably only 8-10 miles away in Shay) You can find Shay on the map if you look for Buncombe Creek Resort (at Lake Texoma), then go back west 2 or 3 miles. It is literally just a curve in the road with a community center. This is what his Mother and Sister want, and I have no problem with it. If anybody needs any special directions to Kingston, Just head east on highway 70 out of Ardmore, go thru Madill, and Kingston is just 5 or 6 miles east of Madill on hwy 70, or if coming from the east, take HWY 69 south to Durant, then head west on 70, and it is only about 12 miles west of 69 on hwy 70. Please email if anybody need to. Kory, Dawn and Kids ktdid@cox.net

P.S..Thank everyone so very much for the wonderful support we have been getting since this tragic accident. Our hearts are overwhelmed with both joy and sorrow.....
PPS. Flower arrangements can be sent to Watts Funeral Home, Hwy 70 East, Kingston, Ok. 73439

As others have expressed their sympathies with you and your family so do I. And remember fallen heroes.

I’m from a small town in central PA, pop. 7,000. On 9/11 the community lost a promising young son, Lt. Jonas M. Panik, age 26, who was killed when flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon. The community erected a memorial to Jonas outside the National Guard armory.

On Wednesday our community is turning out for a parade to see our local guard unit march to war. The entire PA National Guard (28th Infantry Div.) is deploying to Iraq. This is the first time since Korea that the entire local unit has been called up. The parade is not going to be a somber event but rather it’s intended to celebrate our local soldiers and honor their commitment and to show them the community’s support.

The parade route is a 1-½ mile march from the Nat’l Guard armory to the train station. This is just the fourth time the local unit has been deployed to war. In WWI, WWII and Korea the soldiers gathered at the train station to be transported to combat. Although the train station no longer receives passengers the march to it represents the town’s historical tradition, which began during the Civil War.

I will be thinking of Michael, Jonas and all our fallen heroes as our town’s soldiers march to war this week.

Well they built the Titanic to be one of a kind, but many ships have ruled the seas
They built the Eiffel Tower to stand alone, but they could build another if they please
Taj Mahal, the pyramids of Egypt, are unique I suppose
But when they built you, brother, they broke the mold

Now the world is filled with many wonders under the passing sun
And sometimes something comes along and you know it's for sure the only one
The Mona Lisa, the David, the Sistine Chapel, Jesus, Mary, and Joe
And when they built you, brother, they broke the mold

When they built you, brother, they turned dust into gold
When they built you, brother, they broke the mold

They say you can't take it with you, but I think that they're wrong
'Cause all I know is I woke up this morning, and something big was gone
Gone into that dark ether where you're still young and hard and cold
Just like when they built you, brother, they broke the mold

Now your death is upon us and we'll return your ashes to the earth
And I know you'll take comfort in knowing you've been roundly blessed and cursed
But love is a power greater than death, just like the songs and stories told
And when she built you, brother, she broke the mold

That attitude's a power stronger than death, alive and burning her stone cold
    When they built you, brother

Thoughts and prayers go to you and your family from me.

"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."

  • Even though I don't know you personally, I would sincerely like to express my deepest condolences to you and your family on the loss of your son. I realize that there are no words that can take away the pain of losing one of your children, but I also know from experience that time, along with faith, and trust in the Lord helps heal that pain. I recently lost a very dear friend of mine unexpectedly, and even though I don't really consider myself to be a "religious" man, I found the following words quite soothing and reassuring. I sincerely hope that you find them just as comforting as I did.
They are from the book of John, chapter 14, verses 1-3 : Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I truly share in your grief.
    Respectfully,

I dint even ask my wife before I made this offer since I am so sure she would agree without hesitation.
