The cards that I purchased from Scott arrived today. Eventually I will be cracking these out and sending them to PSA.

nice cards Pdub! Especially the Aviators, those are my favorite sub set. Most of them died pretty soon after the set was issued.

nice pickups, West was a tough one for me. Glad to see this thread bumped, I started writing a book on the subjects on this set and put it aside after about 50, but the stories were pretty fascinating.

Nice pickups Pdub! The aviators are my favorite subset in T218. Most of them died in crashes, including JB Moisant. He was killed in crash a few months after this card was issued, the same day Arch Hoxsey, another T218 subject, was killed in a plane crash.

I like both the aviators and boxers... if there was registry sets for just those that would be my focus.

Merry Christmas! Was able to win a good amount of the T218 cards on eBay a week or two ago...this puts me at 35% complete...ranked 16th on the Registry...man...I still have a long way to go!

Another round of great adds @pdub1819 !

I'm just working on the golfers subset and was recently able to add one for my run (pop 7, none higher). I'm targeting for PSA 6 or better on these and this brings me to 4 of 6.

I was also able to pick up my first one from the related C52 set ...

I'll be happy to have copies of these in any condition.

Is the difficulty of these from easiest to most difficult correct?

Nice pick ups! In all honesty, I've been so fixated on just completing the entire set that I don't pay attention much to the backs. If I attempted that collecting the backs, I don't think I would ever finish.

Focusing on a small subset makes it much easier, I did find this article that discusses the series and back factory/brand variations if others are interested: https://sportscollectorsdigest.com/cards/underrated-tobacco-cards-a-review-of-the-t218s Looks like I've only got 12 total T218s w/variations to track down and 6 C52s.

Nope, no BkB or FB representation. See "Cagers and gridders didn’t make the cut" in the linked article.

Made it through all of mine and have a complete run of T218 golfers from the Factory 649 (all my graded ones are this variety), pulled one of my COMC listings and purchased two others from there to get me halfway to a Factory 30 run, and will keep an eye out for any more C52s to pop up.

I am putting together a set of Rookie Olympians and am currently looking for these 2 cards - variations of seated, side, etc are ok. Looking for PSA or gradable.
