9 of these (Hueston, Meadows, Morningstar, Sellen, Daly, De Oro, Demarest, Gans, Haywood) fill holes in my set, and 3 (Klaus, Kramer and KO Brown) are upgrades. The other 15 will be available if anyone needs any of them.
Steve- just those 4. I haven't had access to the pop report since they went to half grades, but it should be under misc sports. Alternately you can go to the registry and figure it out by looking at cards listed there.

Scott, the funny thing is that right now I am at 5.00, and after I get the final 23 cards from Anthony's 2nd set I will still be at 5.00, so I may still slug it out with you for upgrades.
Not sure if it's because Just Collect and E&L have had a bunch of these on ebay recently or what, but the 5's and 6's of certain cards have been selling for much less than expected (like the Hamilton and Hoxsey Nick got). Then others end up going well over what you'd expect.
I've given up trying to make sense of most of the prices in this set.
The prices for cards under a PSA 7 seem a little soft overall lately, but like Scott mentioned, some go higher for no apparent reason. I think JustCollect not taking paypal hurts their sales (thank goodness)
Champs & Bums (Peter Lalos) has a bunch of 4's, 5's, and 5.5's, in his eBay store now (priced too high though), but he also had 6's, 6.5's and 7's, but he pulled them for some reason.
Keep track of the scan and cert. number if you can, and let them know you will be looking for it on eBay. If it only sold for $30 I doubt they would regrade it just to change the cert. number. Also, I would definitely note that in the feedback I leave (negative or positive). Something like:
I paid and then they said they lost the card. Yeah right. Was my winning bid too low?
I added the cert number to my inventory this morning, so I can at least see if someone tries to add the cert number, I'll at least potentially have an idea where the card turned up.
It was almost a slap in the face for them to offer free shipping on my "next" purchase. I'm sure I'll be lining up to get that next order in.
If you do anything in the feedback to them they will block you. It happened to someone else due to a comment on a message board. LMK if you're still looking for a Jefferies portrait, the fighting one is gone.

Looks like there is a new set on the registry, and it's a monster. Hopefully the owner is a message board member, and can join in our little thread here and share some scans and stories about his #1 set. It looks very impressive.
Jim has been working on that set for years, and it is a monster. It's just about impossible to out bid him on a card he needs. I've never known him to post on this board, but he has posted on 54 a few times.

I requested a scan of the back. He sent it, and it is an honest long cut back. I then emailed him and let him know that he has a T219 and not a T218, but I havent heard back in a few days, and the auction is still incorrect.
I wasn't bidding on anything, but there were some weird prices last night. Along with the Sheridan, a PSA 5 Robbins - a pop 5 with 9 higher - went for $54, when other similar PSA 5's went unsold for $9.00. This set's prices are very sporadic.
I think it's because there are a small number of people working on the set right now, although I"m seeing a few new ones jumping in. Hi grade can be even more volatile, depending on who needs it.

Another new (and strong) set added to the registry. Just over 30% and 6.28 GPA The set name is RAS, and its seems he/she is quite a boxing collector. Hopefully he will become a contributor to this thread.
Yet another new set pops up on the registry. It's titled the DMB collection, and while he only has a few cards listed, they are higher grade examples. Has this fine set stopped slipping under the radar?
Interesting point, Nick. I listed a bunch of T218's via Net 54 this week, and sold about 15 cards at my asking price to several various collectors (none of whom are on the registry), within 5 hours of posting my message.
I agree that this set has been undervalued and underappreciated for a while, and will continue to pick up steam in December when some of Anthony's gems grace the pages of the PSA calendar...
i think this set is picking up steam...i am no longer able to buy the large lots of Athletes for little or nothing on EBAY and the prices on the Tolstoi backs are through the roof. I had got out bid on the last 4 tolstoi's that came up.....but finally picked one i needed for my set tonight-----a John Flanagan (waist up variety) but had to pay 111.11 to get it.
Buying Vintage Boxing...especially T218 and T220..email if you have cards you would like to sell.
I got hammered on T220 upgrades tonite as well. I think it has as much to do with end of summer as anything else though. With 100 or so graded T218's to list I am a bit happy though!

Add me to the list of converts...I had been working on T206 recently and found a few boxing cards that I won....Maybie T206 takes the back-burner while T218 gets some focus...
Well, thanks to Anthony breaking up his extra set, I have now completed this beautiful set. Along the way there were some assists from Scott and Bryon too, so thanks to everyone that helped along the way. I started this set in January by buying a complete raw set with about 10 graded cards in it, and now just 9 months later it is the 5th current finest registered set. There will always be upgrading to do, but I am very happy with the set having a GPA above 5.
Congrats Nick, that's most impressive! Hopefully it'll be a little easier for me to get my last 7 cards for my set without having to battle it out with you. It's a great set, and to finish about a 5.00 GPA is solid. Enjoy it and glad I could help in some small way!
So now that you finished this set, what is your plan for the second set? Will you try and finish a second set as well?

Geez, just last year, I thought I had all the time in the world to toil away in obscurity on this set, looking up to Anthony's and Jeb's sets. Then all of a sudden this year, Nick shows up on the scene and spoils the party, stealing my cards which I used to get for cheap on ebay, and now I feel like I'm driving like Grandpa in the right lane, as everyone speeds by on the left! Thanks for nothing!!
Do you guys have any idea how many T218 cards had been submitted to PSA a year ago? Pop report shows 3,768 right now - I imagine that's gone up a ton this year, as it seems like there are a LOT of cards on ebay and other venues with the new half-point flips. It will be interesting to see what the pop report is on this set a year from now...
