True, but it would seem that if the number of auctions continues to go down prices should begin to creep up again,
or at least hold steady IMO. I still think it's a long term play and will be very interested to see what happens in 1 year,
    2 yrs, etc.

  • If everything runs smoothly, I should be able to make over $1700 (after all the cash back, and all of the sales have settled. the only thing that still in question are the two 70's I'm selling. Hopefully, they'll sell soon).

After that...it's a question of how many 70's I want. At least 3. Possibly as many as 5.

    here's another NGC MS70 in tonight's (Monday's) TeleTrade auction..

as i type this, it's been bid up to $675.00 with about two hours to go.. (this is NOT one of the ones that got bid up to $1000.00 and didn't sell last night.. they don't do their automatic re-listing the very next auction.. this is the only 08/07 in tonight's auction..

    click this bunch of words

remember, $675.00, if that's as high as it goes, is not the final price.. to that, add their 12% "juice" plus sales tax (if the buyer is in CA or NY. plus shipping, which is based on the final price)..

there are two PCGS 70s in their upcoming 02 July, 2008 auction, and two NGC 70s in their upcoming 09 July, 2008 auction (those latter two COULD be the two that didn't sell last night)..

you don't have to be a TeleTrade member to look at their online catalogs, individual lots, or do searches for realized prices (within the past 60 days).. you DO have to be a registered member (and logged in).. to bid, and to search realized prices back farther than 60 days.. in fact, you can search back over ten years.. every coin they have ever sold is still online and searchable..).. registration is free.. you don't have to put a CC on file, and other than being a long-time customer, (and winner of a free NGC MS65 Saint in a random chance post-auction drawing about 2002 or 2003).. i have no relationship of any kind with TeleTrade or whoever owns them this week)..

  • An unopened mint sealed box of 20 2008 rev 07's sold on eBay last night for $2036. They were ordered 3 hours before my order on April 17th and shipped on May 7, the same day my order shipped. (14 out of 15 rev 07). I was tempted to take a shot at it but wasn't excited about having 20 2008/08's in inventory at $103 each. I've been lucky enough on this one. I'd sure like to find out what the outcome turns out to be so if any of you know ebayer dustin2121 check it out.

oops...sorry my optimism got to me.. .the item sold was an unopened box of 2008-W Silver Eagles from the mint that could possibly contain the elusive 2008 rev 2007. A pretty big gamble......

<< <i>An unopened mint sealed box of 20 2008 rev 07's sold on eBay last night for $2036. >>

if it's unopened and Mint-sealed.. then it would be more accurate to say "possibly containing any number from zero to 20 to 2008 Reverse of 2007s".. the seller and the buyer can't possibly know what's in it until / unless it's opened, unless they have x-ray vision.. so it could contain anything from about $520.00 worth of coins to over $10,000 worth.. eh?.. the seller will never know unless the buyer tells him.. and the buyer can tell him the truth or make up any story he wants.. so he gambled over two grand and if he opens it, it'll either be party time, or "find me a horse while i throw this rope over a tree branch"..

So bottom line, what the latest someone ordered and received any?

Is the 47,000 mintage considered pretty accurate?
    Many happy BST transactions

Looks like last ship date was around 5-7-08.

There have been around 15,000 total slabbed by all services.
So is 47,000 total correct?? I guess it depends on how you view things.
I'd say to have 1/3 of a series slabbed within 90 days of its release/discovery is pretty a good % lending support to the 47,000 total reported number.
I think there are still a lot of raw coins out there...........I had 57 still raw up until last week.
Since then 19 submitted, 20 sold raw, 18 still raw.

I feel the first strikes are what they are going to be. The others should move up a little bit but not much. Anybody that has a 70 in first strike or regular 08 rev 07 should hold on to them to reap some good money down the road.
  • Just fyi, I spoke to the three B&M dealers yesterday. Coast not buying right now. Chattanooga take raws for 500, 69's for 475 and 70 for 650. Modern coin mart taking raw and 69's for 440, the don't sell 70's so they don't buy them.

if you wanna sell, looks like chattanooga's the best deal now.

btw, 25% cash back is up again. I've been doing some flipping with gold coins now (much safer. I can sell them at a local dealer for a nice little 10-15% profit.) Once I'm done with all this, get 70's ER...averaging at ridiculously low prices. imageimageimageimageimage

You are a long way away from being a "Coin Dealer" Mr. Koo. What you have become, is a "Flipper" which is not a bad thing but it certainly is not a Coin Dealer.

I actually asked him about that. He said that with raws, he could still get them graded and he might ge a 70 out of it. with 69's, he know he's stuck with 69. It's too late for me to crack them open now since I also told him that I had 6 raws before the conversation even started...

    Try this link:

but it might change by time you get to it.

Try this link to get more background info. Its being sponsored by MicroSoft:
    http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/838081/

It only works with buy it now items.
  • In the long run, are the 70's actually going to pull ahead of the 69's? It seems like, at least for now, the 69's are actually worth more (I can make more of a profit by selling 69's than 70's). Is this going to change???

They are all PCGS non-first strike.
  • Man, my head's spinning...14 transactions in 3 days. 4 ebay accounts, 4 email accounts, 2 ms live cashback accounts. 10 cashbacks expected.

4 coins shipped off to one dealer, payment still expecting.
6 coins still expected, to be shipped off with another one to another dealer.
2 gold coins expected, to be sold to a local dealer.
just sold one ms 70 on ebay (I helped the guy with the cash back program).
bought another 2 MS 70's to replace coins I sold.
I might buy another one or two....

    wow, down to 114?

This says a couple things IMO. Either,
    1) Demand is falling because most who want one have one

    OR

    2) Supply is drying up because of the limited number out there.

Hard to believe the supply is dry with all the coins we know are out there and graded.
Must be the drop in prices that is keeping everyone from selling.
