Really nice Bert. I've been looking for a reasonably priced descent one for a while now...

Nice Bert, those are always so tough.
I need to pick up another one with my eBay bucks.

Here's a tough HOFer RC from the 1945-46 Caramelo Deportivo Cuban League set, my first Negro Leaguer original card (thanks Scott!)

Very tough card. Congrats on the pickup.

It's getting to the point where I have to start saving for the big ones…Mantle, Mays, Robinson…

    Hopefully I have the patience...

Here's my latest pickup…I blame the quadruple ebay bucks on this one.

Yes Fabfrank, in PWCC's auction that closed May 8th.
  • I thought it looked familiar. The card was on my radar. Don't remember if I bid or not. Congrats though. Card looks great.

Latest pick up from the Long Beach Expo:

    image

I didn't really want this card in such a low grade, but I always make it a point to purchase at least one card from the show. Trying to do my part to help it grow….one card at a time…and I sent some cards in to PSA.

    Bobby,

I saw your Jackie pick up and I had to get one (even though I was saving up for a Mantle or Mays rookie)
    What do you guys think?

    image

Again, sorry for the picture, I took it off of eBay since I haven't received it in hand yet.

Any thoughts on getting a bump?

  • BPorter26BPorter26 Posts: 3,499 ✭✭✭✭✭
Paul, Based on the scan I don't think it gets the bump.

Here's a few I've picked up in the last couple of months and haven't really had time to share.

I showed this card on another thread, but it does belong here. It looks like an 8 to me

Great centering on those cards, Bobby. That Jackie looks like it was printed yesterday!

Max Carey and Harry Heilmann are next up. And some day (not soon) I'll hopefully add the '48 Leaf Paige and Robinson cards that I need to complete the set. But enough about that. Those are some real beauties that you posted. That Jackie 8 is spectacular!

All of your cards are extremely nice quality and great eye appeal for the grades.

    Andy

Personally I wouldn't get caught dead with anything less than a psa 8 Eddie Mathews in my collection

Gorgeous cards Andy & Matt, well done!

Decided to take advantage of some good pricing and online discounts in anticipation of next year's HOF induction class (not sure if all 4 will get in but if it was up to me Cooperstown would welcome Johnson, Martinez & Piazza in 2015. Edited to add: and, of course, Biggio should get in too!)

My latest pick up…I'm doing my best to keep the cards centered and not worrying to much on corners.

I've got a couple more on the way, pics will be added later. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Probably most of us prefer centering over corners.

Super Monte with great eye appeal.

Andy...... Nice pre HOF pickups. I think Pedro, Smoltz and Johnson are in first ballot. I would like to see Piazza get in with Bonds and Clemens, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Jay thanks again on the JR. It's a stunning card for it's grade. I've been on a spending spree on first ballot guys in the last few months. Here's my latest one. I've really concentrated on centering this time around.

Most of my focus has been on the first ballot HOFers as of late, but I picked this one up. I think this guy is so underrated. 9 X All-Star, 7 yrs with 20 wins or more, and a 2.89 career ERA.

Here is the rest of my set so far!
