I recently pushed my set rating a hair above 7 (7.01) to be exact with these 2 nicely-centered upgrades:

    Upgraded from a 2:

    image

    Upgraded from a 5:

    image

The real challenge will be getting the 4 cards I still need ('48 Leaf Robinson, Kell, Doby and - gulp - Paige) and maintaining a 7.0. Between getting those 4 cards and upgrading elsewhere in the set, I'm probably 2-3 years away from my goal. As always, it'll be a fun chase!

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Those are beautiful. I am looking for a Clemente and can only dream of finding one that nice.

  • The Mantle presents really well, and I love the Clemente. Congrats Andy!

Thanks. I agree on the Clemente, but the guy I bought it from sent it in twice for a bump with no luck, so I guess it'll have to stay as is.

Here are my 2012 National pickups. I picked up the three cards at or under VCP and the Jackson I paid $10 over VCP.

Bobby, you had an excellent show. That Yaz is ungraded by 1 grade. That's a 6 all day long. Congrats on adding some very nice HOF RC's to your collection.

Eric, I would love to see your additions.

A slight tilt on the Yaz but its a terrific 5.
might be worth a bump try.

  • Great Stuff Matt!

Bobby, Great looking Palmer. That's a hard card to find centered.

JW, welcome to the set. It's a lot of fun, great start!

Orioles, great looking cards. I think that Drysdale is under graded. It's got great appeal.

Very nice pickups, Paleo. I've actually slowed to a crawl. That's what happens when you only need 3 more cards and they're all '48 Leafs, including (gulp), a Paige!

Hi everyone. I hope all is well. I'm new to this thread but I thought I'd give it's little bump and try to add to it when I can. I add HOF RCs kind of slowly because I shoot for higher grades and I'm not made of $ or anything. I think the fun part is trying to pick which "future HOFs" are actually going to make it into the hof set. The "steroids" scandal scares me with a lot of the guys in the future hof set because if or when they get outted, I could lose my shirt in what I have wrapped up into their cards. If you had to rank the guys in the Future HOF set in to one of 3 categories (definite), (maybe), (no chance)....who would you put where?
    I collect Cal Ripken cards, T206, E95, E210, R319.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me, or did someone really request Sandy Alomar Jr. for the Future HOF set? Is this a prank? He was one and done, and rightfully so, in his first vote last year. In the words of Cris Carter, "Come on man!"
