<< <i>Interesting...Sox series coming up and Manny's knee is bothering him...... >>
What's interesting about that? You realize that Manny absolutely owns the Yankees over the last several years (I think he's batting well over .400 against New York, with plenty of home runs). He seems to love playing against New York, and with that kind of success, do you mean to tell me you think he's trying to avoid the series? Seriously?
He may have his own issues with Sox management (which I think he's wrong about) but this has nothing to do with this weekend's series.

I do see your point, and I'd like to think he plays this weekend. Who knows? Ortiz is back, so he would have to play LF (he can't DH), but you are right - he has been known to pull this kind of stuff before. This would be an awful time for him to try and prove a point, and I'm betting he understands that.
This yankee team has nothing to do with Yankee tradition. They stand by themselves. Actually, you should seperate this club from the rest of clubs. This club is a perennial loser. How many years has it been ? How many millions of dollars wasted ? How pathetic.

And would you STOP copying joestalin with the sincereley stuff? That is HIS creation. Its all funny in the Met/Phillie bashing but all you are is a sig pirate.
According to SI.com's Jon Heyman, the Yankees have acquired outfielder Xavier Nady and reliever Damaso Marte from the Pirates for Jose Tabata, Ross Ohlendorf, Phil Coke and one other minor league prospect.
While the trade has been agreed upon, according to Heyman, nothing will become official until all six players have been granted medical clearance.
Nady, originally drafted by the Padres in 2000, has become an emerging power threat over his six years in Major League Baseball -- three with San Diego, one-half season with the New York Mets and then 2 1/2 seasons with the Pirates. He has 75 career homers but 33 since April 2007.
Though Nady's contract does not expire until after the 2009 season, the Pirates seemed determined to unload either Nady or Jason Bay, in favor of Andrew McCutchen, a five-tool outfielder who is widely hailed as Pittsburgh's top prospect.
With Marte, the Yankees get a power arm with set-up and closing experience. In eight-plus years in the majors, Marte has posted strong numbers in both ERA (3.21) and WHIP (1.25). He also has 36 career saves, including the five he had earned recently as the Pirates' de facto closer, after Matt Capps was lost for a significant time.
<< <i>Yeah, and the Sox have probably the worst 7,8,9 hitters in the AL. Hmmmmm which would I choose. A gamble once every 5 days or a gamble every night >>
This is a ridiculous comment. You do realize, don't you, who bats 7th, 8th, and 9th for the Yankees right now and how well they're doing right? Cabrera: .249, Molina .219, and Gardner at .153.
Lowrie, Varitek, and Crisp are at .284, .216, and .249. If the Red Sox have the worst 7-9 hitters in the AL, their main competition for the cellar dwellar is your Yankees.

C'mon perkdog (and to my Bostonian wife), you just can't let your defending champs just sit there and take it! Surely you're not going to let the laughing stock of baseball (at least until this year) beat you guys in the division race, right?
I guess for both the BoSox and Yanks; $200-$300 million dollar payrolls don't buy what they used to, eh?
GREAT job by the Yanks tonight. Three guys HBP and not a single whine out of any of them. This makes Youkasissy look ever more like a .... well .... SISSY. And to be honest, I cringe when I watch him preen and wiggle as he gets set to hit with his rear end all high up in the air. I swear when I see this I expect he is holding a bunch of flowers instead of a baseball bat
Dan, come on brother! Joba is throwing at Youk's freaking head - and with his velocity, he could potentially cause serious harm to him. Not once, not twice, but three times.
A lot of Sox players commented after the game that they are convinced this kid is doing it on purpose. Let's face it, you don't walk one guy in 7 innings, and then get that wild.

The pitch to A-Rod was certainly in that higher area. ONE BIG DIFFERENCE then ALL of those pitches to Youkasissy. A-Rod actually got hit!
youklis should take one for the team, maybe it would knock that angry beaver off his face
Nice win again, lets get out the brooms and clean up some red sox garbage tonight!
What about the Man-Ram rolling about in the outfield the other day and having his fellow outfielder have to reach under his butt to get the "hidden" third ball? Gotta love Manny being Manny
ahhhhh Sir Edmund takes out the Splendid Splinter as his icon after he foolishly tried to lambast Yankee fans and myself for having the BALLS to remember past success of even just the past 10 years. CLOWN
Yet he is STILL using the tired and boring "sincerely" crap after every one of his posts .... which of course he PIRATED from joestalin.
As far as the STUPID remark about cleaning rings .... get a grip GRASSHOPPER. Yankee fans spend all of their time cleaning 26 of those rings
On to more important things .... there is a NASTY line of storms heading for Boston which could impact this game .....
Don't have to go back thru all that ancient yankee history, lets just say, something nice and simple, like a decade, you know 10 years, not a long time at all, how many rings for the yanks versus the sox? how many first place finishes in the east versus second place? Just checking, didn't want to miss anything

Boy, you prove to be dumber and dumber with every post. Sorry, you are what you are. Let me explain :
Sir Edmund the dunce out of NOWHERE brings up the subject of how many rings Donnie Baseball and A-Rod have. Could you possibly be THAT STUPID? I say no .... I think you are 14 years old and THAT would explain everything. You see edmund the DUNCE ..... do you have the slightest clue in the world that you left four hundered and fifty five thousand doors open for me to ask you ..... HOW MANY RINGS DID ANY Sox player have from ... say .... the last active 1918 winner and all of the 2004 winners? Including the like of Ted Williams and ANY other SOx great over the years. ???
Edmund, you really need to proof read the nonsense that you write.
Ahh, Noparade again frustrated that this years Yankee team will yet again have NO parade down the beautiful Bronx, NY, where drug addicts rule the streets, and the first base line
Well we clearly need a better 4th starter. Ponson has done well against lesser teams, but he clearly can't be thrown out there against Boston. It looks like Washburn will be a go. Apparently his last 8 starts have been outstanding. We shall see.
Ponson is obviously being left out to dry. And Von, come on, you all spent the past three weeks ripping Ponson and now you want Ponson to come out and tell us all how great the Sox lineup is? ANY big league team has a "scary" lineup against a beer league softball pitcher ..... which Ponson is.
No, the Yanks are in the beginning of 20 straight games. He is being hung out to dry as there is no reason to tax the pen after taking the first two in Fenway. and I guarantee you that Ponson will not be with this team in real short order.
I don't really care what Ponson says or thinks . . . except that if he happens to think that the Sox lineup is "scary" then your statement that the Sox lineup scares "no one" would not be accurate.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Ponson cut or optioned once you guys pick up another Mariner.

A lot of Sox players commented after the game that they are convinced this kid is doing it on purpose. Let's face it, you don't walk one guy in 7 innings, and then get that wild.
<< <i>Dan, come on brother! Joba is throwing at Youk's freaking head - and with his velocity, he could potentially cause serious harm to him. Not once, not twice, but three times.

The pitch to A-Rod was certainly in that higher area. ONE BIG DIFFERENCE then ALL of those pitches to Youkasissy. A-Rod actually got hit!

Nice win again, lets get out the brooms and clean up some red sox garbage tonight!
What about the Man-Ram rolling about in the outfield the other day and having his fellow outfielder have to reach under his butt to get the "hidden" third ball? Gotta love Manny being Manny

The only thing you can "clean" is our world series rings.
Sincerely,
The World Champions
Yet he is STILL using the tired and boring "sincerely" crap after every one of his posts .... which of course he PIRATED from joestalin.
As far as the STUPID remark about cleaning rings .... get a grip GRASSHOPPER. Yankee fans spend all of their time cleaning 26 of those rings
On to more important things .... there is a NASTY line of storms heading for Boston which could impact this game .....

<< <i>Excuse me for going a tad over board pointing out the FACT that the Sox lineup scares nobody >>
What do you think Ponson would say if someone asked him about the Sox lineup?
No, the Yanks are in the beginning of 20 straight games. He is being hung out to dry as there is no reason to tax the pen after taking the first two in Fenway. and I guarantee you that Ponson will not be with this team in real short order.
